hoping to see some big plays from anfield, luckyfool, and illusion

go DC!

i think this will be a good and competitive open bracket there are a lot of good players in there, and we should expect to see some good games

EURO > MLG. The playerlist is a joke this time. Probably the worst playerpool since Koreans started to attend! That together with the terrible times, NO THX!

Might want to take a look at the pool play. Its pretty much the GSL. Nothing against Dreamhacks and IEMs, but they have never had the depth of top players that MLG has.

He's meaning the European Football Championship which starts this weekend not european SC2 tournaments.

Well European Football Championship events usually have even worse players then your average euro online sc2 tourney.

Anyone knows why TLO and Hero are not in the open Bracket? Did I miss something?

Well, there is a rumor TLO may have received a Code A seed (unconfirmed so far obviously). So like HerO and TaeJa he may be focusing on GSL instead and thus stayed in Korea.

GSL moved around the order of their Code S Ro32 groups in order to accomodate players wanting to go to MLG or Dreamhack, just like they did last season for those attending the the MLG Winter Championship in Columbus.

The Koreans in the open bracket are similar to those in Columbus...mostly those from foreign teams. Despite the smaller open bracket, the number of players coming from Korean teams that are actually spending money to send them is up from Columbus (Anaheim will have five from three teams, Columbus had three from one team). It's likely that the issue is not the GSL schedule, but rather the teams choosing to not spend money on sending players with an uncertain return on investment (Losira, for example, is going to forfeit out of an OWR5 seed again despite not having impending Code S group like some players.)
