Today we're proud to announce the two new members of the ROOT Gaming family!

These two guys showed today during their showmatch how incredibly talented and how much potential they have, showing some of the best and most exciting matches I've personally seen in ZvP. We at ROOT will work hard with them, despite of them both being top NA grandmasters, I believe in their potential and they are both very dedicated to becoming the best players that they can be.

These two are amazing people, really friendly and will be the perfect fit for our team, on top of that they are two of the most active players in NA today and both come from a background of almost null RTS experience, both RELATIVELY new to the scene and having not played the game competitively for a long time, have shown impressive gamesense and incredibly fast improvement throughout a short period of time, I am super excited of what will become of them in their near future with ROOT. Welcome Brendon (puCK) and Connor (Fitzyhere) to your new home! - CatZ

Here's what they had to say about joining:

puCK:
Hello everyone,
I am extremely excited to be able to play for ROOT. The dedication I have put into this game is finally starting to pay off as I will be given a team where I will have plenty of support and practice, I can really expect my pvz to improve significantly. The support I have been given through my fans has really helped me to get where I am today, because without them I would just be some random kid bad mannering every single player I came acrost does this sound okay?

Fitzy:
I am really excited to have the opportunity to join ROOT gaming. Although it is sad to part ways with team Habitat, and all of its players, I am sure ROOT will
be a great replacement. I have always been a fan of the members of ROOT, such as Destiny with his infestors and CatZ with his cool builds! I hope to get to know the rest of the team
a little better through lots of practice. I Think that joining ROOT will help me take my game to the next level. With all the zergs around, I can
improve my zvz, which is the hardest matchup in my opion, since CLEARLY zerg is OP. Im honored to be apart of ROOT, and amongst players that will
support me and help me improve. I would also like to thank all of my viewers who support me every day

_______________________________________________________________________
thank you again to everyone who supports our team, and please continue to do so, we'll be working hard to not let you down

I'm so glad for Fitzyhere. I've been watching is stream for a long time and he's definitely one of my favorite zerg players out there, and he's joining my favourite team :D
Maybe he will finally have his stream featured, that would be great.

Got to say that metropolis game was epic and that is something I learned a whole lot from like that nydus pushing and attacking at 2 fronts and all that was sick. People really should take notes from some of what fitzy is doing because its stuff that can win tournaments.

YEAH Fitzy! He's such a cool guy, I'm glad he's on a notable team now.

Also loved his interview XD "ZvZ is my hardest matchup because clearly Zerg is OP"

EDIT: Apparently I became a Guardian and I didn't even notice...what post count did I need to become one?

He's bad but hes been top 24 on ladder for about a year. Yeah, awful. The only thing I could even slightly agree with you on is that puCK's PvP is pretty one-dimensional, but I'm quite sure he just chooses to play a certain way due to the match up.

I'm really happy for both of these guys since I've known them for a really long time. I was actually pretty surprised at the results of the Bo21 haha.

Good luck to ROOT, and I know for a fact when these guys are given the opportunity it will be so worth the investment.

Lol Puck is quite strong. If you're T tho, fitzy is probably harder.

edit: whereas puck is better v Z.

Fitzy's work ethic and practice regimen is simply unmatched by anyone outside of Korea, and has one of the most creative styles of any Zerg player currently playing(with the exception of catz?). Sadly I don't know more about pick, but from the little I've seen of him he seems to be a great player

Not a huge root fan but I have to say the pickups are solid..and even if the team as a whole isn't one of the strongest, they have a lot of showmen who will put on good performances occasionally and could upset anyone.

With the rise of Team leagues I think we will have plenty of opportunity to see Root in action gl to them all

I've noticed that almost everyone in ROOT has very unique play styles that deviates from the norm, which makes for very entertaining games. That is to say, I'm not completely shocked that both fitzy and puck got picked up. Congrats to them and I'm hoping to see some awesome games from them in the future

ROOT should get Fenix :D

Except hes on IM... which is sponsored by LG.. xD...

pretty sure he hasn't been on IM for quite some time now.

http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft2/Fenix

"Jian Carlo "Fenix" Morayra Alejo is a Terran player from Peru who is currently a member of Korean team Incredible Miracle"

It could be out of date?

I've watched puCK's stream for hours at a time, multiple times. I am quite joyful that he has finally been accepted onto a team, where he truly shine. I hope his early elimination in MLG Anaheim doesn't make people think falsely of him. He, when he was on a minor team, practiced all day. I know that his devotion to this game, without any incentive, is great. Now that he is rewarded for his devotion, I have no doubt that he will eventually find himself listed in the top 40 players at an MLG. I cannot wait for puCK to have a larger fan base, as he should, because he does unorthodox plays, like high templar drop and colossus drop frequently against terran. Hopefully, I have compelled you to check out puCK's stream sometime, as he streams nearly everyday for hours. Go support puCK.

puCK's #1 fan

Rain could be tough, but if Fitzy's good at defending early game, he could win.
