Today we're proud to announce the two new members of the ROOT Gaming family!
These two guys showed today during their showmatch how incredibly talented and how much potential they have, showing some of the best and most exciting matches I've personally seen in ZvP. We at ROOT will work hard with them, despite of them both being top NA grandmasters, I believe in their potential and they are both very dedicated to becoming the best players that they can be.
These two are amazing people, really friendly and will be the perfect fit for our team, on top of that they are two of the most active players in NA today and both come from a background of almost null RTS experience, both RELATIVELY new to the scene and having not played the game competitively for a long time, have shown impressive gamesense and incredibly fast improvement throughout a short period of time, I am super excited of what will become of them in their near future with ROOT. Welcome Brendon (puCK) and Connor (Fitzyhere) to your new home! - CatZ
Here's what they had to say about joining:
puCK: Hello everyone, I am extremely excited to be able to play for ROOT. The dedication I have put into this game is finally starting to pay off as I will be given a team where I will have plenty of support and practice, I can really expect my pvz to improve significantly. The support I have been given through my fans has really helped me to get where I am today, because without them I would just be some random kid bad mannering every single player I came acrost does this sound okay?
Fitzy: I am really excited to have the opportunity to join ROOT gaming. Although it is sad to part ways with team Habitat, and all of its players, I am sure ROOT will be a great replacement. I have always been a fan of the members of ROOT, such as Destiny with his infestors and CatZ with his cool builds! I hope to get to know the rest of the team a little better through lots of practice. I Think that joining ROOT will help me take my game to the next level. With all the zergs around, I can improve my zvz, which is the hardest matchup in my opion, since CLEARLY zerg is OP. Im honored to be apart of ROOT, and amongst players that will support me and help me improve. I would also like to thank all of my viewers who support me every day
_______________________________________________________________________ thank you again to everyone who supports our team, and please continue to do so, we'll be working hard to not let you down
Wuuuut! Insane surprise! <3
Congratz puCK and Fitzy, hope we'll see more of you two in future tournaments!
Edit: Damn! Missed first post by a matter of 5 seconds. That's what happens when you write more than 3 words...

Nice, ROOT gonna be the biggest NA team pretty soon if they keep this up!
Really hope the best for both ROOT and Puck and Fitzy
Nice addition to the team both great players
I'm so glad for Fitzyhere. I've been watching is stream for a long time and he's definitely one of my favorite zerg players out there, and he's joining my favourite team :D Maybe he will finally have his stream featured, that would be great. ROOT fighting!
first off, thank you to puCK and Fitzy to give us an amazing showmatch throughout the entire night. The games were some of the best/innovative/standard PvZ games i have seen in awhile. Hope both of you do extremely well withing ROOT gaming and hope to see both of you do awesome in your new ventures!
ROOT fighting bros!
Got to say that metropolis game was epic and that is something I learned a whole lot from like that nydus pushing and attacking at 2 fronts and all that was sick. People really should take notes from some of what fitzy is doing because its stuff that can win tournaments.

game 9 was soo good but i would have to say game 13 was really a hard fought game, both of them played so well and brought new ideas to the table. such a beautiful match.

ROOT is at it again. Grats both! Awesome to hear about Fitzy finding a home!
YEAH Fitzy! He's such a cool guy, I'm glad he's on a notable team now.
Also loved his interview XD "ZvZ is my hardest matchup because clearly Zerg is OP"
EDIT: Apparently I became a Guardian and I didn't even notice...what post count did I need to become one?
Grats to both gl guys!
YEAH FITZY!
I'm glad he's on a team now ;D
gl Fitzy and Puck
:3
Awesome, I love Fitzy's stream! I can't wait to see how they improve! The cheese Fitzy was pulling off in the early matches was quite interesting, would love to see more of it.Congrats to all.
what a magical ending to the 6 hour marathon of pvz for this terran. also these two are really nice guys that deserved a good team (when they arent proxy hatch or colossus dropping you :D). props to catz for contributing so much to the scene. i hope to one day be a part of something this special.
I know puCK for his speed prism colossus usage >_> was not fun to play against.
GL to both.
Seems like a really good pickup from the perspective of all parties :D
glgl all, will be following closely :D
Great series from puck and fitzy, so happy to see ROOT keep growing and cant wait for the awesomeness to come from the team.
CatZ, you backwards'd "puCK"'s capitalisation. Anyways, congrats to both, though having this kind of showmatch for team entry actually having the big legit grand prize would be really cool. Everyone knew what was gonna happen the whole time.
Great news! Really enjoyed watching the amazing showmatch. Good luck and grats to both players and ROOTgaming <3

So awesome! Huge fan of Fitzy, so glad for him!
Been a longtime fan of Fitzy! Good for him!
Sickest pick-up for sure. So why stop with one? Make it two, twice the fun, twice the sicker pick-up, twice probably one of the most talented players out there. Hoping to see you at Dreamhack you guys!
Never heard of either of them...
i saw some game this morning (im from germany and it was arround 10 am). Both are realy good aned im looking forward to see them compete some cups :D
Oh my God, Fitzy on a good team? Nice, Fitz!!! Congrats to Puck as well as ROOT
Game 13 was very interesting. Hope to see them in tournaments soon. Will they compete in open brackets at MLG for instance ?
g g g g! root is now my favorite team, zerg powerhouse.
Too awesome. Love puCK and Fitzy. Make puCK stream more!
Congrats and GL guys!
congratz both players! I think i'm a bit late thought they were going to play when i read the other thread. Just tired i guess;[ Nice to see ROOT grow once again!

He's bad but hes been top 24 on ladder for about a year. Yeah, awful. The only thing I could even slightly agree with you on is that puCK's PvP is pretty one-dimensional, but I'm quite sure he just chooses to play a certain way due to the match up.
I'm really happy for both of these guys since I've known them for a really long time. I was actually pretty surprised at the results of the Bo21 haha.
Good luck to ROOT, and I know for a fact when these guys are given the opportunity it will be so worth the investment.
Sooooo happy for Fitzy! Cincinnati fighting!
I'm not really a fan of neither of them, but.. ROOT4ROOT! :D
ROOT is just getting better and better! Can't wait for the new website!

Good news ^^
Fitzy's Nydus Worm usage was great!
Glad to see both of them get signed. That series was a lot of fun, happy to say I watched the whole thing.
gratz to 2 of my bros joining their new team !!
IMO this is exactly what teams need to do in order to infuse new talent into the player pool. Great move by ROOT and gl to those two guys.
I really enjoyed the games I did watch at the start of the BO21 earlier.
Good to see ROOT growing.

edit2: both have a huge amount of talent and will go far I think.

Thanks to Root for supporting some amazing talent (Fitzy).
I loved Fitzy's time with Habitat. He is a fantastic player and a great guy. I wish the team could have offered him more, and because of this, I am extremely happy that he is joining up with ROOT. Good luck Fitzy, and thanks to ROOT for giving him the opportunity!

Fitzy and Puck are both sick good. Nice to see a team picking up homegrown talent. <3 ROOT

This is the kind of news I love waking up to :D
Congrats Fitzy! Good to see some more players from the midwest making waves in the scene.
That was a cool Bo21. These two players are crazy creative and it'll be cool to see what they come up with in the future!
Sad to see Fitzy leave HbT :< but he'll undoubtedly get many more opportunities with r00t! so gl to him
Gratz! I hope root get's big again
Glad to see this for both players! They both have a hard work ethic and I think they will both improve even faster now.
I am ashamed to admit I only made it about 1/2 way though the Bo21 before sleep happened. Good job you two!
Hey grats Brandon and Connor, both of you deserves it...best of luck in the future!
wow grats to both puck and fitzy
does that mean Fitzy will be a featured stream on TL now? that would be insane!
Fitzy has one of the sickest zvt's on north america and is a very talented zerg, sad to see him leave hbt, but on to bigger and better things. FITZY FIGHTING

Fitzy's work ethic and practice regimen is simply unmatched by anyone outside of Korea, and has one of the most creative styles of any Zerg player currently playing(with the exception of catz?). Sadly I don't know more about pick, but from the little I've seen of him he seems to be a great player
Gratz ROOT, Fitzy, and Puck!

Cool ROOT!
Can't wait to see some of team league matches from you guys =)
Very happy to see these guys getting a new team. Isn't ROOT a bit behind on Terran players though?

It's just Drewbie right now, yeah?

Need moar terran but nice pick ups CatZ.
Great to see them picking up some lesser known players. GLHF to both
Anybody know the final score? I fell asleep after the 17th match and it was 8-9.

Not a huge root fan but I have to say the pickups are solid..and even if the team as a whole isn't one of the strongest, they have a lot of showmen who will put on good performances occasionally and could upset anyone.
With the rise of Team leagues I think we will have plenty of opportunity to see Root in action gl to them all
GOGO Fitzy!! Cincinnasty represent!!!! Also I wonder if Fitzy was being sarcastic when he said "Since CLEARLY zerg is OP" lol
Congratulations to them both. Hooray for ROOT!

dont really know them but i love when relatively unknown ppl get picked up and given a chance to shine... so good luck fellaz

That bo21 series was excellent; good luck to both and to ROOT.
Regrettably haven't seen much of puCK, but I've followed Fitzy for a while and am a big fan! Sweet news, I hope both have a good time in ROOT
I've noticed that almost everyone in ROOT has very unique play styles that deviates from the norm, which makes for very entertaining games. That is to say, I'm not completely shocked that both fitzy and puck got picked up. Congrats to them and I'm hoping to see some awesome games from them in the future
Where are the VoDs or Replays for said showmatch?
Oh man, congrats to both of them! I played puCK once, when he was drunk. 4gated me and totally pummeled me. Such an honor to be pummeled by a now member of ROOT. And although I have not heard of Fitzy yet, best of luck to you too!
ROOTpuCK and ROOTFityz hwaiting!!!

Gratz to both Fitzy and Puck! Great add for ROOT ... both of them are very creative with good potential.

This is awesome, Best PvZ last night!

Root seems like it would be the most fun team to be apart of. Good luck root <3
I absolutely love Root's approach to recruiting. We already saw how it paid off with the previous team and I have every expectation that it will pan out again. Congrats to Fitzy and Puck.

nice root is the last hope for the american scene after liquid EG col and now even gosu have started to sign koreans instead of trying to find talent in NA ...
let's see how that will work out for them

Don't know them but good luck and have fun :3 This is your chance for becoming a pro!

Good pick ups. Good luck!

This is awesome, root gets stronger and with the twitch sponsorship, we should see a couple of strong up and comers at more events, so this is great for both sides! Hope to see root going back to stomping the NA clan wars scene soon!
fitzy has a sick creep spread, i have met him on ladder he is pretty good :p and puck with a strange speed prism colossus, not that good though gl to both and root fighting!

I really like puCK and Fitzyhere.
Collossi and Queens can conquer the world.
I've watched puCK's stream for hours at a time, multiple times. I am quite joyful that he has finally been accepted onto a team, where he truly shine. I hope his early elimination in MLG Anaheim doesn't make people think falsely of him. He, when he was on a minor team, practiced all day. I know that his devotion to this game, without any incentive, is great. Now that he is rewarded for his devotion, I have no doubt that he will eventually find himself listed in the top 40 players at an MLG. I cannot wait for puCK to have a larger fan base, as he should, because he does unorthodox plays, like high templar drop and colossus drop frequently against terran. Hopefully, I have compelled you to check out puCK's stream sometime, as he streams nearly everyday for hours. Go support puCK.
