You have to provide some kind of evidence/proof (screenshots/replays etc.) if you are going to accuse somebody.

Additionally, a supporting comment of what people should be looking for and when will be necessary if you are posting replays/evidence.

There is no feeling of guilt because there's nothing to feel guilty about. I simply found out what maphacking was like. That's it. I never denied it and I never said I shouldn't be banned for it. But I shouldn't be on a list of maphackers because I don't maphack.

You understand the fallacy of saying you don't hack just after you admit you've hacked, right?

I admitted to finding out if free hacks worked and how they affected the game and my play once for less than a day with no intention of doing it for longer. I do not hack because I do not hack. I bet 90% of pros have tried what maphackings like before, let me guess, they're all hackers right?

I've had a drink before, I guess I should also be on a list of alcoholics?

I don't want people to play me on ladder and lose because they think they're playing a maphacker when they're not and they play overly safe or something.

What if everyone on the list said that?
"I was just trying it that one time!"
You can't expect people to take your word for it.

And maybe you just got better at it. There are players like Dakkon who if you study over long periods of time you can tell probably hack, but unless the work gets put in you're never gonna catch it. How do we know you just didn't get more clever at it?

Again, just deal with it man. You hacked. You might still. For that, we label you a maphacker. If you don't understand that logic, there's nothing more anyone can do for you.

Maybe we should change the title of the thread to "People who have hacked at least once on ladder, and may or may not still be hacking", for Scholera to be happy. As if this isn't obvious already. As if there's any other practical way to have a list.

Continue to dodge every single argument with an analogy about committing crimes for the sake of testing things out.

This discussion is pointless. You should be happy no one knows your name or what you look like and just start playing again on a clean account.

on the other hand, people still consider a "onetime child molester" a child molester.

a "onetime murderer" a murderer.

a one-time serial killer (even if he was "only" a serial killer for one day...)

Your logic is flawed, good for you that u no longer do it, the best u can do is just stop caring about what TLers think of you.

For some people you will always be tainted.

No. You're the ignoramus with the flawed logic. Anybody might hack. You know for a fact, as well as you know it for anyone, that I don't hack. Why don't you put literally everyone on the list since EVERYONE "might" hack and just be good at it. In fact, people who have been observed obviously using MH are probably LESS LIKELY to be a "skilled maphacker" than somebody who isn't on the list.

P.S: Really? Comparing pressing a button to find out what cheating is like on a video game and cheating at it unsuccessfully for less than a day to murder and child molestation? If you were to compare it to REMOTELY COMPARABLE crimes, you'd say;

To be fair, this is a competitive scene. All of your analogies seems to be flawed. The fact that you maphacked atleast once on the "competitive" ladder would just be like someone being caught using steroid to enhance his performance in some other sport, because thats what maphack is about, improving your performance on the ladder. This is just enough to get you blacklisted from tournaments, etc. You might not be banned, but you surely would deserve it.

Omg are you freaking serious? Did you just say that lol...

Stop acting like a martyr you freaking hacked, you've been posting in this thread all day about the fact that you "only wanted to try".

Just shut up, get your shit together stop hacking and fucking leave. Jesus christ.

I'm guessing moderators are having a fun time watching this XD.

EDIT: Oh and btw in your metaphor you're a kid right? Makes sense.

No, however, a knowledgeable adult who premeditates (aka- takes the time to search out, download and install map hacks) robbing the candy store and furthermore admits to premeditated theft is considered a thief!

Wrong. Calling someone a theif implies intent to steal things

Not sure on this one, but he didn't scout anything and responded pretty perfectly... He always knew where to place his army and what to do with it. He also stimmed forward to grab a tank at the end but he couldn't see it was unsieged.

I find it suspicious. Tell me what you think!
[edit] Description : Map hack

Pretty perfect scv clearance at his natural around 3:40, even move commanded back!
Waits patiently for the medivac to return after the initial fail push.
Goes straight to my main, but changes idea at the last second, without scouting the patroling viking.
Stims forward to grab a tank unsieged, which was not in vision.

So yesterday I played EneMecH in a PvT, and a lot of things were suspicious. I'm posting this because Ene is a poster on TL, he's made some guides and is quite an active poster ( http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/profile.php?user=EnE ). But considering the amount of weird things that happened in that game which cannot be a coincidence, and despite him denying it after the game, I'm calling him a maphacker:

3:35: makes a bunker before CC without having scouted my proxy, out of a no-gas 1 rax expo. Standard? don't think so.
5:45: makes 2 more bunkers, hasn't scouted my 4 gate
6:43: more camera suspicious movements at my proxy at the moment I warp in some units.. sic
6:53: takes his units off his bunkers to intercept mine at the exact moment I'm moving..
7:23: move cannot be explained logically, from his vision I should be 4-gating and warping more units. In fact I'm retreating into my natural, and strangely he doesn't mind attacking my proxy at this exact time
7:54: again an unlogical movement: I change my mind and go for a small poke, he doesn't have vision but advances his army at his natural's ramp at the exact moment I'm moving up
8:45: his camera shortly jumps at my ninja B3 which he hasn't scouted
8:47: his camera shortly jumps at my natural when I'm transferring probes
9:12: again camera jumps to ninja B3 a few times
9:50: units sent to my ninja B3, which he hadn't scouted

This cannot be tolerated especially from people who are active on TL and making guides IMO.

found another as well.

keeps this up for the duration of the rep.

Speaking as EneMecH, I don't maphack and would appreciate my name off of this list -_- I did try out a maphack at one point, so its possible although unlikely that this game was during the one or two games I played with that but I'm not a maphacker :/

EDIT: I looked at the games and I had MH'd in at least one of them :/ I don't expect to be removed then at this point but I think there should be some way of opportunity to be reviewed in the future, as I literally maphacked for a day when I found the program, but in general I do not find it rewarding.

Perhaps start streaming regularly. Dragon maphacked once aswell. Then he began streaming all of his play and now he's doing really well, featured on TL etc..

You also understand we have no way and/or reason to believe you, right? Safer to just label you as a hacker and play cautiously when we see you on ladder.

I mean, frankly, you should just be banned anyway.

Of course you do. 2 Replays on the exact same day... my play is the exact same level as when I was hacking.... I was also here explaining it on the exact same day... and nobody has been here with the notion of me hacking since... and despite playing since the day of release, nobody's ever heard of me hacking before...

There's no single piece of evidence, explicit or implicit that DOESN'T show that I'm telling the truth.

Perhaps start streaming regularly. Dragon maphacked once aswell. Then he began streaming all of his play and now he's doing really well, featured on TL etc..

It's true, Dragon is a known MH but now has reformed.

Reformation is possible, honestly this thread doesn't do much except to give players scapegoats to point fingers too. Now I've never EVER maphacked in my life and I think MAPHACKING IS ABSOLUTELY WRONG in the spirit of the game. However in the grand scope of things, the way in which maphackers are being compared to child predators and other criminals is just unfair and unwarranted.
All the pros got dat Ichie.

you know, if you only wanted to 'test it', you could've tested it in a custom game.
