As a coach, it is your task to choose the right player for the job. If you make the right choice, you get an all-kill. Make the wrong choice… Well, that shouldn’t happen. It’s essential for a coach to know who your team is up against: What players? What are their strong points? Their key players? Who are their snipers? Luckily Prime has Gerrard. Prime’s coach is a display of charisma, always keeps his cool, always having the right strategy in the back of his head, knowing who to use next. As a player-coach, he stills competes in the Code A Preliminaries, which keeps him up-to-date with the current metagame. This all and he still looks handsome!
Makin’ the right choices, while still lookin’ great (By Kevin Chang)
Some of you may not know this, but Annyung is Prime’s proud captain. As a captain, you need to keep the peace within the team, while holding up the morale of all your players. Annyung is perfect for this job. Why you ask? This is why. Also look at him, he emits calmness. His individual results might not be the best, but he’s a veteran in team leagues with his regular deployments in the KSL and IPL TAC.
Oh, BBoongBBoong. Who doesn’t remember the time you put black tape on your nipples while all-killing F. United in GSTL Season 1. Oh, and he was also eating pizza in between those games. Yes, that’s B4’s confidence. Being Prime’s #1 Zerg, he’s one of the players Prime puts a lot of faith in. Getting solid results in both individual leagues and team leagues, BBoongBBoong is a force to be reckoned with. Oh and by the way: In his first GSTL, in May 2011, he was the player with the most wins in Prime. Not bad for a first time, eh! This happened again during GSTL Season 1.
Nipple tape and pizza, that’s all a guy needs.
Most of you will remember Bumblebee as the guy that got eliminated by Scarlett at IPL4. If I hear "Bumblebee", I remember the zerg that crushed Huk in Code A, the guy who's a regular in Code A. Bumblebee starts with a "B". You know what else starts with a "B"? Bonjwa.
I’m sure most people have heard from Aria already, making name in a replay versus Huk. Day9 describes him as “A player with a very aggressive style and extremely crisp mechanics. His reaction time is absurd and his general use of compositions is somewhat unusual.” And this was more than 6 months ago. After the unfortunate disband of oGs, he joined Prime and will hopefully make an appearance in the GSTL.
Not much is known about Salmosa. He regularly makes an appearance in the EWM, but never gets really far. He doesn’t even have a Liquipedia page . What I know about him: He will be Prime’s next breakout player. Following in the footsteps of both MMA and DongReaGu, he’ll be a regular in Code S soon, and will be one of Prime’s key players alongside Maru, Creator and Byun. Keep an eye on this guy!
MarinekingPrime. As three time GSL finalist, two time MLG champion and all the rest, Marineking is without a doubt Prime’s best player and ace. He started off poorly in team leagues, getting only one kill in the first three GSTLs. But he then turns it around in the first GSTL of 2012, where he gets the most wins (10) with an all-kill of NSHoseo. This is the time Marineking starts dominating the SC2 scene, taking 2 MLGs, winning from the most feared zerg in the world, twice. Now, as one of the best TvP’ers in the world, he is ready for next seasons GSTL, and he is hungry for blood.
This was so 2010 - 2011.
The king of ghosts he likes to call himself, but I’ll just call him Byun. After being punished for “match fixing”, the Puppy Terran got back into Code S with ease, beating players like Nada and JYP. If I had to describe Byun with one word, it would be “Solidness”. Getting from the Code A prelims to Code S in one season is quite the achievement. Whenever Byun gets thrown in in a Team League, he makes the difference. And he will make a difference this season.
GhostkingPrime, making the difference.
Prime’s young boy wonder has been on a rampage recently getting into the Ro16 of Code S defeating Gumiho, Hero and MC and making some heads roll in various team leagues, like in the KSL Season 1 Team League, where he all-killed StarTale. He then fell down to Code A, but he’s back now and better than ever. There is a reason his nickname is the Prime Prodigy, taking down notable players with his aggressive, relentless style and he doesn’t even care a little bit about it.
CreatorPrime, 15 years old, and already so good. As the favorite player of the OP, Creator will get next season’s most kills. Mark. My. Words. Getting into Code S in Season 3, after being in Code A for so long, he is better than ever and ready to take all your ladder points. As Prime’s only Protoss player this season (Classic going to the army), there’s a lot of pressure on him. But don’t worry about him, as he has top three PvT in the world, he will be fine. His double forge play has quite the reputation. Every time Creator gets played in a team league, he does well.
Remember this?
Unfortunately, Classic left the training house to complete his army service. But because he’s still part of the team, I’ll put him on here too. Classic is another player who gets thrown in a lot in team leagues, and takes games of players regularly. His individual results aren’t that bad either. Getting pretty high in the ESV Korean Weekly and having won 10 Playhem Dailies.
This was 2010 For the record, MKP did poorly at the first couple of GSTL's. But before that, he was scary. There were other leagues before GSTL where he would reverse all kill. Can't remember the team it was against though.
Also, I didn't know Aria joined Prime, awesome!
This season, I do believe Prime is a strong contender indeed!
Well their zergs aren't really that good though MKP can pretty much all kill week in and week out though I don't really think they'll be winning this one and it kinda helps your team league results when you face NSH as often in finals as they do lol

I was working on one but if I post it now it will seem like I'm hopping on the bandwagon. Anyways this thread is awesome and I do wish Prime good luck, they have a solid team and good chance of being repeat champions.

I refer you to the less than 2 days old up/down matches where B4 looked like he was not only code S but someone who could make it to ro16. It really was a shame someone out of those 3 had to lose but he looked amazing in doing so.

What you don't understand that hype threads like this go back a long time in BW. This isn't some stupid little thing that randomly came up. This is somewhat of a tradition. I personally enjoy it.
Prime for the finals again, they are only going to be stronger this season. Byun is going to be available all season long, Creator is becoming a monster (top 3 Korea GM yes please), B4 is Code S material and effortlessly all-killed FXO today in KSL, Maru is learning from two of the strongest Terrans out there and is back in Code S.

As do I, It's fun to see.
Yup, I am extremely tempted to make either the ZeNEX one since they are technically on my team, or do the NsHS one since I am a fairly big fan (gasp). Or I could do neither, but what's the fun in that!

There is a fault in your logic, the way NSH makes it to the finals is because they actually defeated all the other teams before they made it to the finals, so the must obviously be good to get that far.
And just looking at the finals of a tournament can be incredibly deceiving, NesTea might of 4-0 InCa back in the day, but the round before he faced SC who almost defeated NesTea.
The curse of any tournament is the two top players are not always in the finals, especially not in single elimination, most of the time.
They are looking good, such a pity about the disconnect from MKP in the last final, would have been nice to see who could deal with parting, squirtle etc looked like it could have been a truely great series. Cant wait to see creator in action in teamleague 1st,2nd and 3rd in korean GM not that bad. Still up for Startale/quantic though, hopefully they have an epic final vs each other this time.
I think ST will take it this time around.. ST players are still salty about the dc loss to Prime in last GSTL so they will train harder than other teams to win.
I was sad to see polt leave prime, because he was the only player on that team I really liked... Regardless, I think Gerrard is a sick baller and I think he (and yeah marineking too) deserves win win win!
Very nice write up OP, a shamelles promotion of a team is always a nice read..
I think ST is the favorite, but Prime is still looking strong, and we can't rule out MVP yet. MVPs star players seem to be playing worse as of the past few months, but if they get back in shape they are scary.
Conveniently those are my 3 favorite Korean teams. :D

quite agree with you here. st prime and mvp def top 3 imo. ST is scary of all their protosses, Prime for their terrans, MVP for... drg? (of course their roster is quite deep too)
Prime didn't win the GSTL in my eyes. I view the previous GSTL as a win by Startale. Sure, technically, they lost, but in terms of how the games were played, Startale won.
Doubt it, maybe MKP can get lucky with another disconnect but the only other top tier player they have is Creator, can't really see people like Classic, BB or GKP bringing home the gold.
Edit: And how is Prime a terran clan? They have a pretty good mix or the races, if you want to see a terran clan check the now deceased OGS or the lately somewhat dissapointing Slayers.
Tired of seeing this shit all over this thread. What happened wasn't MKP's fault, he wasn't not going to accept the regame. Anyways prime had Creator and Ghostking left after MKP who earlier in the season defeated Startale's ENTIRE lineup of Parting, Squirtle, Bomber, Curious, and Ace.
People need to realize that the Prime team is more than just MKP and that players like B4, Creator, Ghostking, and Maru have just as much potential in team leagues and quite often perform better than MKP in most cases.

In terms of how the games were played, Startale won? You mean how Marineking took out Bomber, Squirtle and Curious? Bomber choked. Squirtle saw that SCV pull from the watch tower and still lost. Curious just didn't play well enough to handle the constant aggression. Yep, that definitely constitutes a Startale win. They played so solid didn't they?
Winning GSTL, KSL and IPL TAC this year speaks for itself. Also, I feel like alot of the other players, apart from MKP, are really developing nice at the moment.

BEST terran line up in the world! No other team can field three scary high Code-S class players like MKP, Maru (SICK GOOD!) and ByuN!
