:S From what I'm reading they're not actually doing free streams for this showmatch tourney.
If this is the case I'm going to be sorely disappointed. MLG are not yet at a professional enough quality to deserve my money. Especially when DreamHack offer higher quality streams for free than the MLG paid streams :S

They will get crushed...

They will get roflstomped if they get matched with current sc2 players. If so then this is a total bullshit and I don't think they should get invitations just like this. It's even MORE unfair than giving invitations to foreigners in GSL.

By who, each other? They're playing against each other in an exhibition tournament -- they're not entering the open bracket. They're eligible to do so, apparently, if they wanted, but if they were going to there'd be a big news thing about that, so at the moment -- just the exhibition tournament among the eight of them.

I don't know why people say they aren't good players at SC2 - they are excellent at the fundamental mechanics, and their micro/macro looks to be good as well. Their decision making and strategies need to adapt, but I am also hoping that they can help innovate at the same time since they aren't part of the dominant force in the metagame (GSL) - they might come up with something new and different in how to play some match ups.
I will be very very surprised if any of the players wish to enter the open bracket, and extremely surprised if KeSPA or their coaches let them. The structure there is different from GSL/Foreign SC2 - players have less of a say about things, and I don't think any of them could enter the open bracket if they want to without both Team/KeSPA agreeing.

Wish I could go - the exhibition tournament may not show GSL Code-S quality matches, but it'd still be great to see such accomplished players playing a new game and finally meeting face to face all of their foreign fans. I mean, yeah... when MKP or Huk or (insert SC2 player here) wanders around the MLG floor, they get stopped for autographs pretty frequently. But if, for example, Flash decides to check out the Dr. Pepper girls booth or cheer for an old friend in the main tournament, there may need to be some security on hand to prevent nerds from throwing themselves at him while screaming "TAKE ME!" (or y'know, something like that.)

Idea for future exhibition - 2v2 tournament with KeSPA players partnering with MLG players. (Flash/MVP vs. SoulKey/MC anyone?)
Yes, I email sponsors... to thank them. Don't post drunk, kids. My king, what has become of you?

I hope they will.
There is no point in flying them in only to get them humiliated by pros who were playing this game since beta.
Sure, it's awesome to see legends compete in a new game but it's too early for that imo.
Just give them more time. At least till the hybrid proleague season is over and they can focus on one game instead of two..

Edit:

Oh I see.
Well, that's better but still I don't know how happy they are to show their play already.
As for myself, I would rather wait till they feel more comfortable with the game although it's interesting to see their
progress in such a small amount of time. But at MLG.. dunno. We'll see ^^

Of course he isn't. It's a different game. They aren't super good in SC2. Not even close actually.

And MLG's totally fucked up descriptions of these players' achievements is so depressing. I know for SC2 fans where there are seemingly a tournament every other week, and GSL every month, things like "3 OSL titles" may look bland. But it's still sad for them to list misleading or downright false achievements.

Indeed, how can anything be a "major tournament" or "premier league" if there's a shitload of them? Seasonal MLG Arenas (2 now? Why?), MLG Season championships, MLG Championship championships, seasonal Dreamhack, IPL, IronSquid, GSL Seasons 1,2,3,4,5, IEM, and so on.

Yah it really sucks that there are more events and SC2 continues to grow. How dare those players and teams desire more money and opportunities. And how dare they have more tournaments in the entire world than BW did in one country. None of those can be called major anymore!

No one said they are "super good in SC2." The hype is due to the fact that they are the best BW players in the world at the moment, and most of them are among the best to ever play the game. And now the switch to SC2 is beginning, and they will be at a FOREIGN event, which is a big deal whether you guys realize it or not.

I think the point was that the first guy is saying, they're just playing show matches against each other, who cares? They're not good enough to win the actual tournament.

And the other guy is saying it doesn't matter that they aren't serious contenders in the main tournament, theses guys are fucking legends, and they're going to be in Anaheim, where people can actually go see them, get stuff signed. They could be playing hopscotch, and there'd still be crowds there cheering them on.

In which case, I side with the second guy :-p Not only is it a big thing for SC2, it's just awesome for them to be coming to an MLG period. Think of all the fans in the US that have watched these guys for years and now get a chance to see them in person, it's huge.
