If this is the case I'm going to be sorely disappointed. MLG are not yet at a professional enough quality to deserve my money. Especially when DreamHack offer higher quality streams for free than the MLG paid streams :S

They will get roflstomped if they get matched with current sc2 players. If so then this is a total bullshit and I don't think they should get invitations just like this. It's even MORE unfair than giving invitations to foreigners in GSL.

I will be very very surprised if any of the players wish to enter the open bracket, and extremely surprised if KeSPA or their coaches let them. The structure there is different from GSL/Foreign SC2 - players have less of a say about things, and I don't think any of them could enter the open bracket if they want to without both Team/KeSPA agreeing. Wish I could go - the exhibition tournament may not show GSL Code-S quality matches, but it'd still be great to see such accomplished players playing a new game and finally meeting face to face all of their foreign fans. I mean, yeah... when MKP or Huk or (insert SC2 player here) wanders around the MLG floor, they get stopped for autographs pretty frequently. But if, for example, Flash decides to check out the Dr. Pepper Idea for future exhibition - 2v2 tournament with KeSPA players partnering with MLG players. (Flash/MVP vs. SoulKey/MC anyone?)

There is no point in flying them in only to get them humiliated by pros who were playing this game since beta. Sure, it's awesome to see legends compete in a new game but it's too early for that imo. Just give them more time. At least till the hybrid proleague season is over and they can focus on one game instead of two.. Edit: On May 25 2012 19:05 dormer wrote: By who, each other? Oh I see. Well, that's better but still I don't know how happy they are to show their play already. As for myself, I would rather wait till they feel more comfortable with the game although it's interesting to see their progress in such a small amount of time. But at MLG.. dunno. We'll see ^^

Why?), MLG Season championships, MLG Championship championships, seasonal Dreamhack, IPL, IronSquid, GSL Seasons 1,2,3,4,5, IEM, and so on. Yah it really sucks that there are more events and SC2 continues to grow. How dare those players and teams desire more money and opportunities. And how dare they have more tournaments in the entire world than BW did in one country. None of those can be called major anymore!

The hype is due to the fact that they are the best BW players in the world at the moment, and most of them are among the best to ever play the game. And now the switch to SC2 is beginning, and they will be at a FOREIGN event, which is a big deal whether you guys realize it or not.

I think the point was that the first guy is saying, they're just playing show matches against each other, who cares? They're not good enough to win the actual tournament. And the other guy is saying it doesn't matter that they aren't serious contenders in the main tournament, theses guys are fucking legends, and they're going to be in Anaheim, where people can actually go see them, get stuff signed. They could be playing hopscotch, and there'd still be crowds there cheering them on. In which case, I side with the second guy :-p Not only is it a big thing for SC2, it's just awesome for them to be coming to an MLG period. Think of all the fans in the US that have watched these guys for years and now get a chance to see them in person, it's huge.
