I would argue that most of them *could* compete in a MLG. I doubt any of them would win, but at least a few would manage to get into the brackets I think. No, they would not. Did you see them play in the PL? I'm curious what the reaction is, considering many SC2 fans aren't too familiar with the BW scene; if this mini tournament is a farce, it could hurt MLG's basic strategy of hyping these players. I can just imagine JP hailing Flash as "the greatest RTS player of all time" before he loses to a simple 4 gate. I doubt Kespa will allow the players to enter the open bracket. This is about image over talent right now, and will be until the players improve; that may take months. If this was being held in September sure, they'd be ready to play some good games. But right now? Nah It's already been said that they would be playing in a mini-tournament as exhibition. Alright, look at the quality of play at an MLG. Sure there's a bunch of NA pros and a scattering of Koreans Europeans who ultimately make up most of the groups, brackets, seeds whatever. However, there's also Jimmy Plat League and Peter Mid-Masters in the open brackets. Sometimes, they sneak into the group stages because they avoid any sharks in the open bracket. Do they go farther? I don't actually know if an unknown player actually ever made it to brackets, but heck, there are some (former) no-namers who do pretty well. However, I would argue that these guys are a bit better than those guys. Most of them are already in Masters, and a few are even GM in Korea, which says they must be pretty decent already- probably on par with your run-of-the-mill NA "pro". Sure, they don't have any SC2 tourney experience yet, so that plays negatively. Still in pure skill, they are from from being scrubs. Yes, I watched them play in PL. Yes, some of them made embarrassingly bad mistakes *coughJDcough*. Still, it wasn't that bad. You actually don't have a single fucking clue what you're saying about the MLG open bracket. Getting to groups as mid-master? ........................................................................................................... I'm saying that all sorts of people sign up for open brackets. You've been to open brackets right? In addition to getting smashed by a pro, you've probably played some guy who you think just wasted their money. But, sometimes they do well. They get lucky. Their favored pro opponent gets DQ'd for arriving late. Shit happens. I'm using the term Mid-Master here jokingly. People always like to say low/mid/mid-high/high/top x, y, z master. There's 200 GM in the NA, and I doubt every single player is GM anyways. It doesn't even matter if my example is shit. I'll admit my knowledge of MLG OB is pretty shit. Still, I think my point still stands. BW pros have shown that they're at least good as any NA pro on ladder, and the more I think about it, the more I believe they could bash their way through there.

Most of them have played SC2 for only a month. That means the first week after, they'll get 25% better before (1 month and 1 week of practice). The next week, they'll get 20% better than before (5 weeks > 6 weeks). And the next week they'll get about 17% better than before. In other words, by the time MLG comes, they'll be almost twice as better than their SPL debut. (Motive had 4 months of SC2 practice and he is already approximately Code A level. Effort has had 1 month and is almost Code A level. I think an extra month will significantly help them.)

Will they be playing only with themselves ? or participating with sc2 pro gamers ? I think MLG said something earlier about it being an exhibition tournament between the BW pros. It wouldn't make sense to throw in an SC2 pro and have him thrash them - unless it was Boxer, because that would be awesome.
