Today we are proud to announce the birth of a new relationship between two historical Starcraft 2 teams : Millenium and TSL. Coach Lee, who represents TSL, and Llewellys, who represents Millenium, created a friendship that will be greatly beneficial to each other.
The first set of big news includes: the sharing of Gaming Houses when players are traveling; a special program on MilleniumTV regarding TSL and Millenium players' practicing.
In addition, there is something that a lot of you guys will be happy about; Millenium will participate in the GSTL aside Team TSL when our players will be in Korea. More details will be announced later this week.
Coach Lee, TSL Manager, talks about this partnership :
This partnership is the first of its kind in TSL history. How did you get in contact with Millenium and why did decide on a foreigner friendship now?
When we initially wanted to form a partnership with Millenium, TSL’s Marketing Manager was able to help with interpretations and also facilitated an online meeting with Remy “Llewellys” Chanson to discuss our intentions. Millenium was very respectful and willing to talk with us, and we also listened to what Millenium needed from us. Millenium and TSL were both able to provide what the opposite party requested, which is why we were able to develop this partnership. I feel great because we are planning various programs for the future to develop a splendid partnership between the two teams.
Why did you decide on a partnership with Millenium and not another team?
TSL had talked to several teams regarding partnerships in the past. However, most teams often request sharing team names. To me, TSL is a brand name with a lot of sentimental and asset value; I did not believe in sharing a joint team name throughout the length of the partnership. I believe Millenium had the same opinion as I did. Although we are not functioning under a joint team name, I think that we will be more than capable of producing a great program, that both teams will be greatly beneficial to each other, and that we will establish an extraordinary precedent partnership.
Our team waited until now to establish a partnership with one of the most stellar teams, and I’m ecstatic that it was well worth the wait. I believe that Millenium will be just as excited about this partnership as we are.
What are your future aims and wishes in regards to this relationship ?
TSL players like Stephano very much, not just his plays but also his personality. We are very content and happy because we get to work with his team. We will produce good results and progress in tournaments through training with Millenium, and openly sharing strategies know-hows. We will also maximize the efficiency of our partnership through the use of each others’ practice houses, which will be available for use by both teams. We also believe the players will enjoy practicing and competing with each other both online and offline. Both teams will strive to produce an interesting partnership.
Do you want to say a word to both Millenium and TSL fans ?
First of all, thank you to Millenium for establishing this partnership with us. Millenium will further progress and achieve great success, so I hope that Millenium fans congratulate our partnership happily. We will participate in the upcoming GSTL together, so I ask that our fans will support our teams. I would like to ask TSL fans to also support and love Millenium players when they arrive in Korea.
In addition, we will be attending as many European tournaments as possible. I ask that Millenium fans also garner interest in TSL players, and that you will love and support them too.
Once again, much thanks to Millenium. I am sure that in order to become a great partnership, both teams will work hard to be their best.
Llewellys, Millenium Manager, talks about this partnership :
[M]Spit : Partnerships with korean teams are legion since the beginning the launch of WoL and GSL kick-off, why did Millenium waited that long to approach the korean scene ?
[M]Llewellys : To be honest, I didn't knew the korean way of management and thus had little to no contacts, I also lacked the confidence to organize such a partnership.
TSL is a team among many others, why choose them instead of another one ?
TSL was the most logical choice. First of all, I had a lot of contacts with him and Coach Lee, but also with the recruitment of Dragon I met Yuna who helped a lot in the talks by her translations but also by her energy and her willingness to make things happen between Millenium and Korea. She works more or less for TSL and I thank her.
Without getting into too much details, what can we expect from the partnership between the 2 teams ?
First Adel wanted to go back to Korea after his journey with Gameone and Stephano is scheduled to go back to Korea this summer, so a partnership between gaming houses was decided. But we wanted to go further with the participation of Stephano and Adel in GSTL under the tag TSL.M‡ which will allow them to participate providing they are capable and TSL reach the 2nr round of this prestigious competition.
Lastly there will be training session in common before important tournaments, some of them will be broadcasted and others will remain confidential.
Remember the players who are involved in this partnership :
Woo "Inori" Min Gyu Kim "RevivaL" Dong Hyung Choi "Polt" Sung Hoon Kang "Symbol" Dong Hyun Ko "HyuN" Seok Hyun Kim "Cyrano" Yong Jin Shin RagnaroK Hee Bum Choi Shine Kyung Min Park Venus Ki Woong Seo Dream Dong Min Lim Mamuri Jae Hyun Ahn Ultimate Tae Jin Lee Oscar Jung Hyun Choi Center Jae Sung Lee Punisher Da Han
So a GSTL team of stephano, inori, polt, symbol and +1 not bad a massive leap from being slightly better than zenex (Even then that could even be debated) to a solid team. Also will this partnership apply to IPL team arena or is it just TSL there?

The IPTL is currently already under way, so I don't think roster changes are possible. I believe there will be another press release about next week further detailing TSL & Millenium scheduling, so please keep your eyes peeled on the Millenium website, TSL Facebook, and follow us on our twitters!
TSL in the GSTL looking like a much better team than they were last season with Polt/Symbol/Stephano leading the charge. Most teams now have foreigner partnerships now. Just Prime, NSHS, and FXO left. And FXO kind of has a partnership with FXO.CIS, the world team counterpart of FXO.
So who from Mill (besides Stephano) is going to Korea exactly? This just feels weird, my perception of pretty much all Mill players is that they're all pretty un-dedicated to what they do (half of them dont play fulltime and the others don't really seem to want to make the sacrifices). :S

I like TSL's line-up but think they could become top tier if they signed one of the three Terrans from oGs that just got put on the market. A line-up of Polt, Symbol, Stephano, Supernova/StC/Fin, and then Revival/Inori is damn scary.

TSL went from the shit with FD,to mediocre, to suck suck when they lost everyone, to hopeful with Polt/inori/symbol, to epic again with this! Sick job guys!
wow, that TSL roster looks large. And people were thinking that they're in trouble. Add to that with their players doing well at MLG and Stephano in da house.
This is epic! I know we all see polt and stephano as enemies however weren't they really pally after all their matches? Sick to have stephano in a good and proper training environment with Coach Lee too!
Well i suppose i'm now forced to like Polt (i don't really like TSL and Polt for no real reasons) But i'm also able to release my full love to Inori and Symbol !
I'm a bit surprised though, i would have guessed millenium-eg-slayers.
Congrats to both teams, can't wait for the upcoming gstl. Might even get to see Dragon on the bench depending on if he travels back and forth from Korea.
Great news! Stephano gets some quality Terran practice partners. He is already friendly with Polt and being at the TSL House should prove a great environment for him to train amongst friends. The OGS House was not ideal for him prior to the Blizzard Cup because the OGS guys were understandably helping MC and Hero who were his opponents. Exposure to rigourous training schedules at TSL House should boost his level and give him an analytical support team which will help in GSL preparation.
There's a disagreement in the statements though. Llewellys says Stephano will participate in the GSTL with the TSL.M tag, whereas TSL coach says he doesn't want to share the TSL name.

I believe one other player from Millenium other than Stephano will go to Korea; more details to be announced soon ^^
Cool stuff. I think this will also benefit GOM in response to the KESPA/MLG deal

I guess Coach Lee was talking about not wanting a complete name merge (like e.g. you'd always see Col.MVP) but is fine with using it when both teams actually play together in GSTL.
Hmm this also begs the question... Is Stephano the best zerg of this partnership? Try to not be foreigner biased but... I think he actually might be.
Still as I said, this has created the starcraft Prime Evil in my opinion (heh, actually how hilarious would it have been if Prime and EG paired up. Although MKP, HuK and Thorzain are just too adorable to actually be a part of something called Prime Evil so it wouldn't work).
This "partnership" seems to be more of an even or true partnership than other teams' partnerships. In partnerships like the old ColMvP one, Col was just basically paying MvP by sending its players to tournaments for using the CoL name. In this one, the only benefits seem to be use of the teamhouses and teaming up for GSTL which benefits both teams in the same way.
Millenium and TSL together what an amazing idea ! Stephano Polt and Symbol + Adel who is amazing in EG Cup I hope it will improve all players skills and dominate !
NrGMonk yes but for TSL players beeing able to leave in Europe (France there) could be interesting for IEM World, DreamHack and stuffs !
Jinro and MC...Idra and Huk...now Polt and Stephano. This is really good for Millennium Stephano especially. I wonder what kind of effect it will have on his practice since other people will be able to more readily see and analyze his style if he is living with the Koreans?

We're functioning with the TSL.M tag ONLY for GSTL because it's required. We're not sharing the TSL name for the duration of the partnership. Hope that clears things up!

Depends on how you view Symbol's ZvP. I'm pretty sure most agree that Symbol's ZvZ and ZvT are slightly better, or at worst, just as good as Stephano's. But, his ZvP is definitely a level or two below Stephano's.

I'll agree that Symbol's ZvT is slightly better, they're about even at ZvZ, just outside of the top ZvZ in the world (Nestea and DRG).

so this partnership is same as startaleQ?
Quantic playing alone on team leagues.
Definitely not. Unlike ST & Quantic where Startale is the only team with a practice house, Millenium and TSL are functioning as two completely separate entities with the exception of GSTL. We're literally doing a foreign exchange program where we equally share housing... it helps both Millenium and TSL broaden our audience range and players like Polt, HyuN, RevivaL, Symbol have all been strong presences in the EU scene. We took a conscious effort to develop a type of partnership completely different from what already exists, so I hope you understand that ^^

The GSTL seemed logical for both teams, but fans will probably be seeing TSL a lot more on MilleniumTV now ^^ The partnership, as much as it is beneficial to both teams, as also largely for the fans who already enjoy seeing TSL players like Polt or Symbol (who is popular in the french scene) compete in Europe. Millenium's players and TSL players already work well together (for example Dragon & RevivaL) so we felt like we fit each other like lock & key ^^
It looks like a win / win situation for both teams, both get access to very nice gaming houses on another continent, and training with very capable players (Stephano of course for M, but also Feast who will train a lot more now his studies are finished for the time being, and less well-known but still very good GM EU like Adel, Tarson (!) or Diestar, and Polt, Symbol , Inori for TSL for example.)
And Stephano teaming with Polt in GSTL is just a dream come true Very happy the brovalry between Stephano & Polt came to this, Polt is one of my favorite korean players, exceptional spirit and truly great play, especially vZ

His ZvZ's vs nestea are amongst the best ZvZ's i've ever seen. Ever.

At this rate, I'd say Symbol's ZvZ is better than NesTea's. I mean, I don't think the 3-1 beating at Iron Squid could be any more indicative of his current skill. NesTea is riding too much on his past laurels and reputation in ZvZ. Symbol's TLPD isn't too indicative of his current play, and I think he says himself that his ZvZ is his strongest. Stephano's ZvZ is arguably his weakest matchup, so I'd put Symbol above Stephano in ZvZ as well.
This leaves us ZvP, which is fairly obvious in Stephano's favor. Only thing is, would a player who's slightly better in two matchups be the better Zerg, or the player who's a bit more than slightly better at one?
This leads me to think about who Team Liquid will partner up with in the future seeing how almost every foreign team has a korean partner team. Since oGs has split up what other teams are there for them to partner with? FXO or maybe NSHoSeo? But maybe Liquid isn't looking for a partner since they are already in GSTL.

Stephano became this good at ZvP practicing vs Bling & Mana, imagine if he practices ZvT & ZvZ as hard vs Polt & Symbol...o_O Let's not speak about what could become the already good Polt TvZ (hi2u DRG )
This is very exciting news. Some serious Stephano ownage aside from Code S in Korea might be up, or it'll be an orgie in disapointment, kinda like when Ogs had both Huk and Jinro but never opted to pick them because they simply weren't good enough. Hopefully Stephano stands out enough to be called into the GSTL match more often.
It's kind of disappointing from a mere spectator's point of view if only Adelscott and not Feast gets to go.Regardless; MIllenium and Europe hwaiting!

Adelscott and Stephano were added to the GSTL roster because they expressed interest about training in Korea regardless of GSTL. It's been announced on the Millenium website that if TSL gets past round one, Millenium players will join us in playing for Round 2. It would be silly to have them on the roster and not have them play. The reason Millenium is starting at Round 2 with us is because of scheduling issues (they can't come in June when the match is scheduled). Just clarifying little things because I don't want people assuming the worst or being disappointed when they don't see Stephano automatically right away. There is a method to this madnesssssssss <3

thanks a lot for the clarifications. good job getting this partnership sorted out as well. definitely beneficial for both sides and not sharing a team name is also the best choice imo.

Hm, that's true.
Polt participates in almost all the MSI Cups, Symbol won over the Iron Squid crowd, etc. Also the Polt/Stephano rivalry/friendship also makes these teams very compatible.
Miillenium wouldnt be able to recruit players like Polt or SymboL and afford to pay them salarys.
teams like Liquid and fnatic recruit their own koreans, make them live in their OWN teamhouse and pay them salarys.
For me these players dont belong to Millenium, just like MYM doesnt own MVP players.
Even though you totally missed the ball here, Millenium is a very rich team, just think about it. They can afford stephano who is the best foreigner player for a while.
Remember what Stephano is in SC2 for ? He always said he only played for money. Also Llewellys said he gets more than the minimal french wage which is 1200 € a month.

I don't think he does, any more. He might have started off for that reason, and he might still tell himself it's for that reason, but his attitude to the game has far surpassed any purely superficial intentions of making money. He still wants money, but that's not all.

Still doubt they can add Polt, Symbol etc and pay them similar wages.
even hard for esports giants like SK.
Remember the problems with their wc3 korean team. And MYM for example doesnt pay MVP players....they are scammer.
Yeah but since Mill has been able to keep him in their roster, I'm assuming they have the money to back him up. Also they've been sending him around a lot, and they are known to be one of the wealthiest european team. I mean they said they were looking for a top korean terran. As a foreign team, you have to offer a lot of money to attract such a player.
Also, regardless from any money statement, a partnership isn't a merge, as expressed in the OP and by Dearyuna. Which is why his comment is out of place anyway. Maybe reading the thread would help participating in the discussion. Especially since it's only 7 pages long.

You ignorance have gone too far in the denial. Millenium isn't partnering up with TSL in order to get Koreans like you seem to think. They are exchanging training facilities first. TSL will compete as TSL only players in all competition. Only for the GSTL will TSL benefit from the players who will be in Korea. This isn't a financial agreement, it's a real partnership between equal.
I also despise the MYM.MVP and the coL.MVP agreements too but this one looks fair for all parties.
Wow this is soo sick. Stephano has really been given a chance to break out and become known in korea. This could potentially elevate his career to new heights if he can perform to his fullest. Goodluck and awesome partnership!
All of the times Stephano faced Polt, they were bound to make friendship. This is great for Millenium would be awesome to see Stephano play some in the GSTL.

even hard for esports giants like SK.
Remember the problems with their wc3 korean team. And MYM for example doesnt pay MVP players....they are scammer.
You need to read everything else in this thread because I talk about it again and again - this is NOT a merging of teams and Millenium is not paying TSL players wages and is not "buying" TSL players. Where in the world did you get that kind of idea?
[M]Spit : Partnerships with korean teams are legion since the beginning the launch of WoL and GSL kick-off, why did Millenium waited that long to approach the korean scene ?
[M]Llewellys : To be honest, I didn't knew the korean way of management and thus had little to no contacts, I also lacked the confidence to organize such a partnership.
TSL is a team among many others, why choose them instead of another one ?
TSL was the most logical choice. First of all, I had a lot of contacts with him (T/N: probably speaking of Polt) and Coach Lee, but also with the recruitment of Dragon I met Yuna (T/N: dearyuna on TL / TSL_Sephora <3) who helped a lot in the talks by her translations but also by her energy and her willingness to make things happen between Millenium and Korea. She works more or less for TSL and I thank her.
Without getting into too much details, what can we expect from the partnership between the 2 teams ?
First Adel wanted to go back to Korea after his journey with Gameone (T/N; for a TV show) and Stephano is scheduled to go back to Korea this summer, so a partnership between gaming houses was decided. But we wanted to go further with the participation of Stephano and Adel in GSTL under the tag TSL.M‡ which will allow them to participate providing they are capable (T/N: Probably the decision of Coach Lee) and TSL reach the 2nr round of this prestigious competition.
Lastly there will be training session in common before important tournaments, some of them will be broadcasted and others will remain confidential.
Good job Yuna <3 \o/

lol, its fine I got it now.
But this certainly increases TSLs chances in the GSTL a LOT. Well more good games with Stephano of course.
Will be interesting who comes out on top between TSLMill and fnatic.

OR JUST THE BEGINNING???!?!?!?!
It's the beginning of the end. In December, Polt and Stephano will merge into one super-being and enslave the world with their combined strategic mastermind... and i will welcome it :p
Well, anyways... I always knew the Stephano/Polt Rivalfriendship would lead to exciting things (apart from their always exciting games) and i can't wait to see them fighting together in GSTL.
There is no rivalry between polt and stephano, relax people .... i hate all those team partnership ..... what the hell is this ? Can't those team be fine on their on, how do you want fan to root for one as they do in football if they don't respect their identity...
Damn, this season of GSTL just seems to be the dream team season. With MC, MVP and Nestea all on the same team (9 combined Code S championships), Stephano and Polt together on Mill-TSL, Slayers with EG, Startale Quantic, etc. So many stacked teams and foreign participation.
Wow this is big news. Will be nice to see Stephano play in GSTL. Foreigners now have more opportunities to play in GSTL which will attract more viewers.
Seems like people are forgetting just how good Feast is, if Feast goes to Korea for a couple of months he is going to easy be code a level imo. This does really feel like an extension of the friendship I feel I have seen between Polt and Stephano.

As TSL is an abbreviation of Team SCV Life and SCV is an abbreviation the full name is: Team Space Construction Vehicle Life!
I wonder wha the combined name will be: Team Space Construction Vehicle Millenium Life! Team Millenium Life! Millenium SCV's Life?

As stated in the OP there won't be any shared name between the team outside of GSTL.
Excited... but I do have a bad feeling about this. Both teams have been mired in controversy before... Hopefully not with each-other the next time something arises.

By the way guys have you realized that 50% of the top 6 players and top 4 players in the MLG Spring Arena 2 are players from TSL & Millenium? That godlynesssss (:
I think that is a great news because this partnership is quite balanced. Millenium has a big fanbase, a gaming house in europe and Stephano who is valuable for any korean team, and TSL has a gaming house in korea, great players and can participate in the GSTL. I like the fact that it is not a merger but a partnership and I really see both team benefiting from this.
I also realise this was almost given away on SotG where artosis says he saw adelscott in korea and was then like 'OH ERRRRRR...... I think he's going back soon and just doing some filming' Thorzain then questions how strange it is and the matter is quickly glossed over :L

Wait adelscott is there already? I wonder if he'll try code A qualifiers.
Also completely off topic you're missing an l in could in your sig
So excited for all the players at Mill. Finally they will get the chance to train/possibly compete in korea and become beasts of the EU scene. Lets just hope that Mill doesn't hold TSL hostage and exclusively fly them to EU tournaments. I'm sure Stephano won't mind pulling a Naniwa for at least a little while and focusing mostly if not entirely on CodeS along with NASL.

lol we never said in the partnership that Millenium was going to fly us out to EU tournaments, so therefore they can't hold us hostage :3

Actually he was doing some filming for a french documentary on progaming I think. I know he was doing filming and the deal with TSL wasn't even in talking stages when Adel was here.

It will be interesting to see how Stephano does in Korea. With the amount of time he says he puts into practicing I wonder how the Korean regiment will work for him
Millenium community was aware of the Adelscott trip to Korea since their website and webTV talked a lot about it. As masterbreti said, he was doing a documentary for a french TV channel. And i'm not sure too that Adel had any talks with TSL regarding this partnership during his trip.
I'm not sure this a good investment by Millenium, this coach Lee guy from TSL has had a lot of bad rumours and news surrounding him continually. All the best anyway would be interesting to see Millenium in GSTL

and you know those bad rumors almost always are proven to be false. they are mainly perpatrated by maybe 5 or 6 people who just seem to like starting trouble.
Coach Lee is one of the nicest people in starcraft. In the plenty of times I have spoken to him, he has been nothing but kind and amazing towards me. Ask anyone in Korea who has had contact with Coach Lee, Ask Tastosis, ask Khaldor, wolf, Doa, Moletrap. Ask any of the players too, and you'll hear the same thing. Coach Lee is amazing.
He has been in esports for over a decade as well. That kind of staying power doesn't come aorund often and very few are able to keep in the industry that long.

You're really bad at reading this thread, just so you know. It's so obvious that you don't really read what other people write. Like i've said before, only TSL will be playing Round 1, so no, fnatic is not getting fucked over. Please get your facts straight. This is the second time you've said something wrong regarding this partnership lol.

not sure where you get the term "investment" from because this is a partnership, not an acquisition. People really fail to understand the fact that this isn't a takeover by Millenium. Secondly, you judge this based off rumors about Coach Lee. There hasn't been any controversy regarding TSL ever since I joined, and if I didn't trust Coach Lee or have a reason to believe where he was coming from, I wouldn't be working for him right now. I was well aware of the rumors and drama that surrounded him before I joined, and I had good reason to trust him, and moreso the team captain Polt.
Please don't judge the partnership based off one person because it was the work of multiple people including myself and I don't like someone pointing fingers and discrediting the hard work both Millenium and TSL staff put in to please their fans just because of what they heard from a secondary source. Please continue to support your favorite players instead and look at this partnership as something that will help players in both teams grow. And thanks masterbreti for your support (:
Alright, but I wouldnt have been surprised if Millenium would be allowed to play already, since Oz was allowed to play for fnatic although coming in late.
Well I guess, this makes up for a better balanced matchup between TSL and fnatic, sporting 2 top guys on each side.

They are allowed to play early but they can't because Stephano and Adel are coming to Korea late (which by the way, if you actually read the thread, I wrote about twice now.) If they came to Korea in time for Round 1 they would play, but there's scheduling conflict.

This is an entirely different matter. Stephano has to attend his USA tournaments first and then there is DH Summer for the whole team which is a priority for every EU team.

Dont forget Revival. He's a sick zerg who always gets through code B but always ends up with the hardest oponent in code A.

Yea, I dont always read through all pages, heh, sorry sir ^_^
Well, they will still be able to support TSL, in the rematch, if fnatic wins and then lose vs IM-SK. (most likely)
So TSL has still damn good chances. Not that I try to complain ( ), its just an sliiiiiiiiiight edge hehe

Stephano and Adel won't come in Korea before DHS12. When the PR said Round 2, they mean Round 2 of the GSTL not 3rd match of the 1st round.

He was more or less offered a free pass to pick up his seed whenever he wanted. He proved he is still worth a seed this weekend and I don't see that changing in the near future. As to your question, yes he declined his spot (which hasn't been confirmed 100%) for Season 3.

Looking at TSL's roster you can see how much they have fallen off.
Polt is their only real Code S player and their best zerg is prob Symbol... ;/
Rosters change all the time; it doesn't mean that they've "fallen" off. Players have their up and downs and new great players are always made. Just because players left doesn't mean that the team falls off. We just completed our restructuring phase and you can watch our team play well in the upcoming team leagues (:

Just to clarify, there weren't any rules that didn't allow TSL to use Mill players for round 1, it was just a scheduling issue. It doesn't take away from partnership incentives or anything like that (: ^^ sorry for the misunderstanding.
