MKP is widely regarded as the best player in the world, let alone the best terran. He has destroyed everything lately except for his loss to Taeja which knocked him out of the GSL running. It must be noted that MKP beat Taeja already in their group and was 1 game away from advancing before Parting all-in'd him. MKP was jet-lagged and ended up losing the second series he had to play against Taeja and got eliminated. MKP destroys Protoss in a time when most Terrans consider Protoss to be a little imba. He has beat the best zerg in the world (DRG) over and over and over. Nobody has better control and nobody has more builds than him. When he is at the top of his game, nobody can stop him.
MKP is 15-18 against DRG in 2012. I don't think you can say MKP beats DRG over and over when he doesn't even hold a winning record against him...

Beat Naniwa so far in Round 8, thats good but Iam pretty sure almost everybody except Supernova would most likely have beat the Swede in Round 8.
Lets first wait until Round of 4 and Finals, until we make conclusions how strong MVP really is atm.
Until that MKP, MMA and aLive are the Terrans in 2012 with the highest win rates.

I think the best TvT player has been MVP and still is.
MVP and MMA, the two players' records against each other is 7 win / 11 lose, so it is right that MMA is the upper side
but when it comes to the overall win rate, and all the progamers' record against each other
MVP is indisputable the best TvT player in the world.
For example, nobody can insist that flash is not number 1 TvTer just because his record aginst upMagic is in the inferior position.
(currently, upMagic is permanently banned from progaming)
In fact, there are two players who has better records against Mvp : Gumiho (3 win 4 lose) / MMA (7 win 11 lose)
but there are plenty of progamers who has superior records against MMA : Rain / theStc / MKP (12 win 5 lose) / Bomber / aLive / Polt
and even, SuperNoVa and Keen has same records agasint MMA.
However, Mvp hold a dominant position all the players mentioned beforehand

Taeja hasn't won shit all where as MarineKing has won 2 MLG's, made another MLG final and got 4 kill in the GSTL finals. MMA has won two GSL's, Iron Squid, an IEM and an MLG. They're both far better than Taeja. How do people come up with these comical opinions?
i mean i think they're all really close... so many good, SOLID terran players out there right now but I would have to agree MKP and MMA looking SO strong lately...not just in their tournament performance but just every game the mechanics and strategy performed by both is unbelievable... Alive has shown some really good play too but I think MKP still has him beat (at least based on the last month or two, you never know what's going to happen in the future)... taeja and gumiho also looking very promising but they have yet to strike me the same way the other 4 have

plus i was super disappointed when Choya chose himself over Oz in the team league last season and lost... i wonder if that had something to do with the switch?

I don't understand why you are trying to rank any Terran abvove Mvp. No one is close to his tournament record (maybe MKP, but noone else) and he is in RO4 despite severe wrist problems. You're like those people who say PartinG and NaNiwa are better than MC just because they have been doing better last 1-2 tourmanemts, while in fact MC has won the most prize money out of all SC2 players and consistently do well in big tournaments.

The funny thing is that even in a slump MVP is in ro4 vs 3 toss. If MVP wins the GSL some people will stay he is in a slump.
Why? Because he "fell" to code A. Like 24 other players. Falling to code A is no longer that big a deal.

i agree GSL is "the ultimate test" but people forget how much luck (build-order losses), stress/lack of sleep (flying in from another tournament one week), and match-ups (playing in a round of 32/16 that has 4 incredible players) can affect how people perform...
i think MKP has been really unlucky during a lot of his GSL performances lately (remember last season he lost to genius in the round of 16 in a nail-biting 3rd set, 3rd game-AND after beating genius 2-0 in the first set? it was the last set that was played-and genius went on to play in the finals... two sets EARLIER he lost to DRG, the GSL CHAMPION, in the winner's match). I think we can give MKP a break for not making it to ro8...
Speaking of MVP, what has he been up to lately? every game i've seen him play the last two months has been really disappointing. I hope it's just a slump but as of right now i would def. argue MKP over MVP
