There are news articles & posts from industry insiders everywhere if you care to look for them.
In order for a team to participate in Proleague it needs to join Kespa, which costs ~$90,000 a year per team. It is doubtful any current SC2 team will be able to do this.
I should also note that while some people are angry about what Kespa is trying to do, hardly any are surprised by it.
* As for Starleague, if OGN decides to make SC2 one in the future, it would be less difficult for an individual player to participate in, as you only need to have Kespa licence. However, Kespa is saying that they would give SC2 pro licence to those with BW licence automatically but there has been no mention of GSL players. So some BW pro with 0 SC2 experience would be considered a sc2 progamer while Boxer would be an amature.

I have to agree, I still remember when KESPA shunned Nada and wanted to remove all his previous achievements for playing in GOM's league.
It won't come as a surprise to me when KESPA announces their own private league which excludes foreigners and current sc2 teams.

That was Korean netizens overreacting to them changing NaDa's status to retired and that just happened to be a mistake that happened to. If KeSPA was so against NaDa and/or BoxeR would they have allowed them to appear for people's retirement ceremonies? Doubt it.

This is really good for SC2 having a big company sponsor a team. Hopefully more companies will start sponsoring more teams so SC2 can expand and flourish in Korea.

this sponsorship deal with LG is an incredible miracle for starcraft 2

yea they look way better than when they were wearing that yucky yellow...

Not sure where I saw it though. Could have been a random news piece I saw on TL. LG made the right choice sponsoring IM instead of Team 8. Everyone knows that BW is dead outside Korea. Any competent marketer would know that foreign exposure of the brand >>>>> local exposure of the brand, especially companies like LG. B...but, Jaedong ... Jaedong is solid in korea and hardcore BW fans or maybe even some casual BW fans. But sc2 is the thing now. Not gonna argue which is a better game, but sc2 has more exposure in the foreign scene then bw. Makes sense to sponsor IM since World > Korea. Jeadong is not just solid, that's an offence for what he achieved. Uch things like this are awful to read. What more important is how long is a game going to stay stable, instead of current popularity. Sc2 still makes sponsors hasitant to comit. This how ever for Korea would be a great step forward. I think you are misinterpreting his usage of solid in that context, it sounds like he is using 'solid' to describe his popularity/fanbase in KR and NOT his bw achievements/skill.
I see, my appoligies then.
OT, no Conformation on this yet ?

yay, soon Samsung will sponsor someone :p, thats good, plus koreans are in a "national" mindset, always try to buy korean products instead of foreign etc. It's good for them to have huge korean companies sponsoring their own teams, hope it will continue

Really want to hear something official from them, I'm getting all excited about this and it may not have even come to fruition yet. :/

I think they know that Samsung already has BW team, they're implying Samsung is going to stop sponsoring KHAN and use that sponsor money on a pre-existing, already-proven SC2 team.
