And to go so far as to say you wont support a promising new team, pack up your shit and leave. We don't need people like that in this community. User was warned for this post What? We don't need people who think that teams shouldn't have to employ cheap ploys to get their name out in the scene? I don't see the wrong in having an opinion like this. What they did put a bad taste in people mouths even though it was mean't to be a joke. If you are trying to be seen as a legitimate organization perhaps the best way you get others to see you as this is to not do what Eclypsia did. Don't be so one sided and forceful dude.

I cant muster up any sympathy for a team that decides that they want desrow to represent them in any way. I'm indifferent about their pickups, as i've never really paid any attention to them at all. but I severely dislike the organisation as a whole now after this. It's a big slap in the face after all the times it's happened in the past with teams in WC3 and SC2. To all the people saying I and others are just salty over a "joke", consider this. If you want to "legitimize" eSports as a lot of you say you do. Then you'd be down with this sort of behaviour. NO business does this, as their sponsors, fans and even some employees would just straight up leave the company after they realise that a core aspect of running a business like paying employees wages is just something that they can just fuck around with. Very poor management by them, and I cannot believe so many people in this thread still support them after this.

Assuming they do actually have sponsors, the idea of the sponsors is to get people interested in whatever it is they're about. Getting a community in an uproar is much more likely to damage the reputation of the sponsors, than the few people who enjoyed it. Here's an example: Think of all the people this "joke" offended, if any sponsors of this team ever comes up in a casual conversation do you think they'd support them? Even if it's not a concious decision, most of those who were offended would be more likely to promote some other company who creates the same thing as the sponsor for this team. Now look back and see how many people enjoyed this "joke" compared to how many didn't. No, not all publicity is good for your company. This was foolish and will damage the view of your sponsors, their products and your team. For the record I'm indifferent on the matter, just work in PR. Welcome to a PR nightmare. Oh, and whoever said EG supports any publicity=good, you're pretty much dead wrong. They do damage control after every fiasco, and are aware of the different personality's they have signed. IdrA for example is the "e-sports bad boy."

And I definitely will not be watching any tournament with your players in it. Hahaha hyperbole like this one makes me hope Eclypsia players sign up for many, many tournaments. Guess much less starcraft for you then eh? Although I am pretty sure this statement was a straight out lie. Quite ironic given why you said it. Shame there is no way to check if you stick with that nonsense.
