Less than 5 a week on average, i guess (usually like 1 week of 5 games a day, then a month without playing)

I wasn't sure what race to vote. I used to play terran, but am in the process of attempting to switch to Protoss.

Zerg must certainly be more flexible/ As for Terran it seems like there might be too much variety in BO for them to merit simple guides. I'm not sure.... This is what I think too. When I played Protoss, I found that a good build order is a very important thing to have going into the game. Playing Terran now, I feel like build orders are in general simpler (because we don't indicate every single unit that comes out of the gateway for the first 6 minutes :D), and more adaptable. PvP is very build order reliant, while TvT is maybe the least non Zerg build reliant matchup. PvZ is mostly "FFE into a cool and precise build that accomplishes some goal or hit a timing", TvZ is mostly "take map control with hellions, and try to deny bases, defend harass, keep up macroing, until you think you can finish Zerg with a big push" TvP is a bit of the same for both races, with plenty of all ins to defend, and some clear mid-to-late game compositions, and it comes down to micro. Edit: And that may be a reason to the relative success of the race on the ladder. You follow a build order found on TL, your chances of winning the game increase to 55% compared to your opponent who doesn't have that supply list to rely on :D I at least know that when I was Protoss, I was very proud of my build orders and shit, which, now that I think about it, is quite dumb, because there is little to no glory in following a supply list.

There may not be casual observers on TL or in this case ones that actually responded to the pool - there are plenty of people who watch StarCraft that do not come here. Also, there's no need to be so aggressive towards these suggestions since just by being on TL you've pretty much moved out of the casual zone. For instance, the single player campaign has had less than 1% of the global community complete the game on Insane difficulty, yet for the majority of TL'ers, that is a rather simple task. When you're looking at a community that can easily do what more than 99% of the global community can not, I would say we're quite removed from the term "causal".

But are you sure that the poll represents the level of a good amount of lurkers on TL? Are you sure every tournament spectator has a TL account and answered the poll? It's not easy to draw conclusions from this kind of data. Just cool to see it so balanced and kinda high levelish :D

I don't play the game at all (I have literally like 7 games played from beta->now) and I come to the SC2 section to follow what few tournaments I do :p Same for BW, I haven't touched BW in years but I'm in the BW forums for the tournaments/community etc. There's a lot more to TL than just BW/SC2/Whatever players, there's a huge community. This is a news site as well, don't forget. :D
