I would love a chance to put $100 on Stephano. This is what SC2 needs.... gambling!

Was there betting on SC2 when it was in Atlantic City for IPL3?

I'll take that action. If this happens, I'll put 100 on Naniwa.
I root for Euro Zergs, NA Protoss* and Korean Terrans. (Any North American who has beat a Korean Pro as Protoss counts as NA Toss)

Naniwa, tho he has his ups and downs, is arguably the best pvz-er in the world ( and clearly top 5 pvz ) and stephano is hands down the best or at least even with drg in zvp.
Showmatch would be great, even if 5k is kinda a lot but as long as they play bo9/11 and split stream revenue nether or them would end up with a lot of money lost so i don't think they should be to scared of losing not to bet 5k, even more so considering there teams might be up to pay a part of it.
A good strategy means leaving your opponent room to make mistakes

people throw around the concept of being as good as person x too often. wouldnt compare stephano to drg ^^ they are VERY different in styles and skill.

Not American...

Youtube begs to differ...

On topic, this match just needs, needs, needs to happen. HuK may have finished 3rd at MLG but I will not rate him in the same bracket as NaNiwa / Stephano (on his current form!) until I've seen how he does in the Up + Downs.

(I really, really think he got an easy bracket at MLG - no matter what others say)

AMERICA, FUCK YA! It feels good to harbor such players in our borders!

Guess that solves lag issues then, they can just play on NA server.

On topic though, do these guys really have $5k to put up on a showmatch? I mean yes, they HAVE it, but do they have enough to gamble it? I don't think so. This seems more like a Twitter joke/hype type of situation to me, but $500 a side I can believe.

Seriously Naniwa, you had better win this if it happens. I've got my own 5000 riding on your victory as well

Stephano's PVZ is crazy good. I don't understand how he is able to make so many drones while being able to apply pressure to the Protoss.

This could only possibly work at IPL4 since there is no way either of them will take the disadvantage of cross region lag with this much money on the line.

Because they want to bet on a SC2 match? Not really. More the problem solving, brain power, and mind game factors translate well. Also poker is basically math, and most SC2 progamers are very intelligent ppl. Look at yourself sir.

Edit: Wow man, can't believe you wrote people... wtf is wrong with you?

No gas for 6 minutes while going 3 bases even against 4 gate, the no gas makes a huge difference and it's really hard for protoss to punish it, even if they 1 base play. I've never noticed how getting that 1 gas earlier would damages the economy that much, even if only to get speedlings. I started getting gas later at ZvT as well and the results are pretty interesting. You can't do that in ZvZ though, speedlings, banelings and roaches, all that will counter your no gas build.
