People who say that Golden was taken advantage of into joining a newer/upstart team like Light would have to be completely ignorant of the situation. He got deals from several teams, and Xeris has always been loyal to his players and his teams. People can make jokes about him stealing chairs and what have you but think about it, and you will realize that he has always ran his teams with all his effort and players who have played under him have said nothing but kind words towards his work ethic and ability to coordinate and run his teams. In terms of Golden himself, the kid is still quite young (17) and he did not take this deal purely for the money. He asked me and his translator that travel to events and the ability to get out and see the world was more important to him than any dollar amount. He even turned away some money, asking for less in order to just have security and peace of mind. He wants to be able to focus on playing and succeeding in tournaments, while having the ability to not worry about managing himself, and have the ability to be taken care of for events. | ||
