I wasn't aware billboards express gratitude. I obviously can't buy their product since it's not in the US but 2 seconds out of my day to say thanks isn't much of a bother, nor is it advertising for them in any way. o_o;

I can't do anything to support the company, me posting on facebook or whatever the OP expects me to do isn't gonna get them to sell their products overseas. Again, I appreciate them sponsoring GSL, and I hope people who live in Korea buy their drinks because of it, but there's nothing I can do. also their ad is pretty crass am I supposed to be impressed that they know that guys like boobs? seriously are we twelve

I said that I appreciate their sponsorship, sorry for not going on facebook to do it but I don't think it's fair to say I'm unsupportive or something when I said that I'm glad they're doing it. It's really hard for me to give a shit about a company when I don't know who they are and can't do anything to support them, though.

If you say thanks or any such SHOWING of gratitude in a public forum you are encouraging them to spend more money in e-sports. It takes no time for you to do and it increases the chances of them putting more money into e-sports, thereby increasing the funding and making the product (e-sports) better. I also think this is true. In fact it has repeatedly been mentioned on SoTG that this is the way to go about things. The general statement is generally something like "Please send an e-mail or message them and tell them theyre doing a good thing. If you like their products, please buy them." In fact the way big corporations operate is that the marketing team needs numbers to gauge the effectiveness of their campaigns. In they have gone from 200 to 10.000 likes on facebook, where most of them comes with the message "thanks for sponsoring the GSL", the marketing team can slam those numbers the next time the CEO or Board asks. Its a direct measure of the campaigns success. And furthermore sales is just the net effect of marketing. Building a brand name inadvertently builds sales over time. It is in fact a way more long term strategy than buying a soda can from time to time. Take for instance Red Bull, they sponsor most or maybe all extremesports. When i think of Red Bull i think of Big Airs and jumping out of fucking airplanes. How awesome is that? They have done great work in associating their brand with a certain activity - maybe Hot 6ix wishes to do the same?
