I think everyone should qualify to get to code S, not sure why foreigners are always allowed to seed through foreign tournaments....I guess this helps with making game popular....

As impressive as oGsFin is, I have only seen great TvZ from him, his TvP is not that good if you stop his drops. What he is good at is multi-tasking, so just have to stop those drops! In KSL he got owned by MVPFinale

Nestea is playing like crap lately, though. IdrA is a mystery (I don't get it why you guys expect so much from him, he's playing against the 30 top players in the world, not some silly foreign tournament), and Lucky had an awful Code S last season. At least Greg may have a chance of not going last place this time.

To me the thoughest group is B (poor Supernova), and the most even is F followed by H.

I'm happy because I was scared of GOM matching BoxeR (or Nada) with MVP, Fin and DRG all in their group. It seems they have pity in their hearts, as the both have good chances of making it into Ro16.

All in all, MVP, MMA, MKP and Oz are the ones I'm pretty sure will go on into the next round with ease. Lots of good protoss this time, too, hopefully they'll do something worthwhile.

Are you serious? MKP and Oz with ease? MVP and MMA I can agree with, although MMA is not really a solid player, he is just very 'clutch' like Kobe Bryant, if he gets to the semis or finals, he is going to win the tournament. But I can see him drop out of group too!

MKP has not been solid tbh, keeps doing the same builds vs same races. He likes his 1 rax expand....A lot of people like him, but more skilled players are playing SC2 now, he is more of the older generation type...i do not agree with people when they say "MKP has great micro etcetc" because it is really not true. If you compare his games to other great terrans, he lacks both micro and multi-tasking tbh, and combine that with rather poor decision making. He is only good at base trading from what I see...

Oz...I can tell from the time of FXO's first GSTL, he is not really good. He did make it to the semi-finals but seriously that was a weird GSL, so many dark horses making it that far....Just shows how volatile the game is, it is too much based on preparation and build orders instead of practice, experience, and skill/talent. I watched some of his games in that GSL, and I have to say he certainly is not going into this 'easy'.

It's not only foreigners that get seeded, it's ANYONE Gom chooses as long as they've done well, MC got his spot back from MLG for instance.

Getting a spot from MLG is different...it's a legitimate means of qualification by getting a certain finish in an MLG tournament. These spots don't have any stated rules or requirements and they seem pretty subjective.(actually it's to get the most viewers)
Plus, IIRC they are giving 2 foreigner code S seeds every season now, at least people were saying that. Correct me if I'm wrong there though.

Yes, I did notice that GOM changed their criteria for a Code S seed, which I found pretty silly, because apparently they didn't even tell MLG about it, the whole thing with Naniwa triggered it, it seems.

I'm pumped to see Fin roll through code S and show how someone can just roll into and through the GSL.

Well it's not like he is the first doing that.
Nestea did code S without losing a single game before.

MVP's run the next season I consider more impressive becaues he basically ran thru every single other contender for best player in the world and lost only 2 games doing it.

That run was extremely overrated. In the group stages he cheesed MC. Against polt both of them looked like they were avoiding to go 2-0 because whoever went 2-0 would face Nestea. Against Nestea was the only impressive thing he did despite cheesing the first game. July has not been really code S material then so him beating July was nothing more than fuel for the hype train. Against Huk was good I guess, but by now means was Huk a contender for the best player lol. The TvT against TOP was.. well TvT.

His run wasnt any more impressive than any other GSL run.

He went through every non-fruitdealer gsl champ. Care to name me a stronger run?

I'm not trying to say fOrGG isn't beatable, but that loss says very little. His entire build was designed to abuse the low-ground on Tal Darim to kill P's natural. With Finale expanding far away, (not because of any great foresight, but because an e-bay was blocking his nat) fOrGG's build was completely nullified from the start. Just consider, when Finale broke the pseudo-contain fOrGG had set up in an attempt to at least do something, fOrGG hadn't even started stim, any infantry upgrade or a third CC yet. He made a really good game out of it considering.
On a purely personal note, I'd like to show Yellow the beauty of infinitely repeating Starcraft 2 bunkers. -Boxer

Well that was more fOrGG shooting himself in the foot then. He wanted Finale to make his second base in his nat yet he blocked and basically gave Finale the choice.
1. You will first kill my ebay and it will take you longer for your second base.
2. You will expand somewhere else.

I say Finale picked the right choice by not delaying his expo.

Actually, I think DRG mentioned in his interview during his first Code S selections that he wanted to 'justify' his code S seed since he got in from MLG. I think Koreans feel that MLG is a slight 'unfair' route as well. Just because not all the players get the finances to go to a MLG. Although this is getting better with more foreign/Korean team partnership, Code B Qualifiers is still a lot more accessible.

As for special spots, it happens in other sports as well where fan favorites are given sponsor exemption to certain tournaments (golf has this and I think tennis as well). At the end of the day, it is about business. And if it takes a couple foreign invites so GOM can get a good prize pool for the players, I am all for it.

Notice how everyone else is talking about all kinds of interesting things such as IdrA's group of death, ForGG, Leanock etc etc

and here you are the only one who just had to bring this up, when it's the furthest concern from anyone's mind. Shouldn't you be visiting threads on tourneys where Naniwa IS competing, and not lamenting on the tourneys that he isn't? Think about that for a second.

Just realised the colour for InCa is Terran.

I guess even GOM don't think he is worth thinking about ^_^

Leenock chose forgg for his group. Lets hope he doesn't go down the path of previous runner-ups because this decision seems rash and risky.
