I dont think he threw it so Stephano wouldnt advance i think he didnt care enough to play his best. As you like to quote the interview "it doesnt matter if you are 2nd or 3rd in your group"....yes he said it himself.

This is a prime example of why people get misinformed easily in this forum. First of all

1. The translation itself says "to me 2nd and 3rd are the same" meaning that first was his goal but he failed.
2. It's a raw translation, so arguing over logistics is not even reasonable

But heres where contradiction and double standard fail in TL. Majority of the people (mostly MVP fans) are bashing MC for all-inning and dubbed him as terrible. Yet when MC loses to DRG "he didn't try". I understand the idea is the same - fueling MC hate - but be consistent (not directed at you, but to all the haters).

IF, IF MC did throw the game away, maybe because he just hates foreigner and DRG was his best friend in the world, so what? Stephano should've tried to win his games himself to advance.

Well the problem is... if MC's actually smart and playing well then his results.... well kind of diminish all of MVP's victories. So they have to maintain the myth of MC as the terrible player and consequently have to hate him as well as his Dead President rep diminished the prestige of all T victories.

Which one is true?

For me not caring and not doing your best is basically the same as losing on purpose.

Also in your first quote i said "i dont think he threw it just so Stephano wouldnt advance".

Q : Any last words?

I thank my team-mates who helped me to practice. Now I have a chance I will show my fans that I can also get into the finals. As for the last words.. I have seen the winners prediction poll on Teamliquid, I thought I would be at least in the mid-way but only 2% voted for me. I was shocked. I got more determined to get win the tournament after looking at the poll. So keep an out eye.

LOL!
The poor kid!
See what you guys have done!
You monsters!

haha

DRG's going to take it....unless it's ZvZ against nestea...

The funny/sad thing is that DRG got less votes than 'Other.' People thought the last player to qualify for the Blizzard Cup had a better chance of winning despite not even knowing who it was lol!

In general you shouldnt judge an entire nation based on a few bad experiences but in this case I understand why Stephano wouldnt trust koreans. DRG said in the interview that he tried to persuade MC to lose on purpose (which btw is a dick-move imo).

Yes, Stephano could have just won his own matches but just how many zergs will take down MVP in a BO1 on Shakuras Plateau?

The fact is that Stephano was down 0-1 before he even played any games and when you combine it with how the other results turned out and that the match DRG vs MC was played last, it becomes clear that Stephano was about as unlucky as one could possibly be.
In the end it was a complete toss-up who would advance between MC, DRG and Stephano and Stephano got the short end of the stick.

DRG would be a massive favorite to beat MC in a GSL match right now or at least before last night he would have. He hadn't beaten a notable zerg in an extremely long time. It was far from a toss up.

What MVP is saying about how he let his GF record Stephano's stream when he wasn't home and wasn't able to study Stephano himself via a stream is something progamers need to start consider more. When u're streaming u're allowing any potential opponent to look right inside your mind and as we saw MVP did the perfect build against Stephano's ZvT style.

Lol at the idea of DRG publicly claiming that he was trying to get MC to throw a GSL tournament game after what happened to Byun and Coca for a relatively minor game in the KSL. Something makes me think that's not what he was going for.
