The team page announced a few days ago the temporary retirement of LucifroN and the manager of the team. They also released a statement/letter of farewell, in which both speak briefly on the subject.
Farewell Letter of LucifroN and Ryo (Manager)
Today is a sad day, as the goodbyes always are, in which we report that, after a long time in the world of competitive gaming, we have decided to take a break. This is mainly because we are at a point where we can not spend much time at the scene, mainly due to studies, plus many years in a row (adding the stages of WC3 and SC2) we believe it is time to take a break. We hope that this break is temporary and we can return one day, but right now we don't know when that will happen. This break is not total. We'll occasionally continue to play for fun and you will see us through Battle.net, but always taking the game as something more relaxed, something that simply pass the time when we want.
We want to thank the club APSC2 for the journey, also thank the trust they put in us at this stage, and make mention of our 4 teammates with whom have spent much time and shared several tournaments, and those who will be missed. We wish luck to all in the future.
Finally, we also want to send a cordial greeting to all the communities, teams, gaming fans in general, and to thank all the support you have shown during this time.
Until next time!
LucifroN and Ryo.

ahhh
no surprise, still sad tho - showed really good potential
Entirely expected, it was known that this is why he wasn't on a big name team. Nevertheless as Endrey said it's really sad as he had sooooo much potential as a player.
There goes the rematch against ActionJesuz (for now)
best of luck and hopefully he will return down the road
And that's why he wasn't playing since dreamhack valencia? That's sad, LucifroN's Blue Flame Medivacs was one of the best micro I've ever seen.
It's sad that Lucifron didn't play as pro in SC2, he showed as much potential as Stephano if not more. When he played for some weeks he instantly was among the best foreigner terrans, which is quite sick.
lol, again???? TT but its a sad day indeed
. Lucifron was such a boss in the beta. Hope to see him return one day
Best Spanish Player imo. I Hope he will be back.

Really sad since when he started playing again, he became really fast the 2nd best terran player right behind ThorZain, raping everyone left and right (Stephano, Nerchio, etc) T;T
noo Ryo ): Isn't he pretty active on the forums?
Lucifron too, huge loss D:
really sad, lucifron was one of the most talented players in sc2, beating pros left and right with even less training than stephano; unfortunetaly he never went fulltime sc2 ):
When he returns, he shall be Lucifron the White!
Sad to see a WC3 player leave. Being mostly a BW player myself I think the WC3 guys bring a unique sort of playstyle to the game.

Gotta a good good reason to bump this thread. RadioStarCraft (StarCraft-ESP.com) is the spanish vcast dedicated to national/international scene.. you can say its some kinda spanish "State of the Game"... and tonight.. we got something special

LucifroN is such a genius. I encountered him on ladder as the beginning of season 5, he just started playing a bit (he was something like top master)... and when I looked at GM ranking, he achieved top 4 GM. After months of inactivity he can juste come back and play at a good level again, even though it's only ladder it's impressive. I really hope that he'll play competitively again =D foreign terrans need this genius

Finished #4 last season
Reached #1 two days ago into this season
SPANISH REPRESENT!!
Well, needs a translation of the show :s
hope lucifron comes back to the scene , best sc2 player in spain period.
we are in much need of some knowledgeable and skilled progamers here to grow the scene , keep up the good work lucifron , vortix , Ryo , and others
Lucifron is up there with Grubby, Stephano, Titan, Happy, etc. representing the foreigner hope against koreans! :D I really hope he decides to play SC2 full time again.
only met lucifron a few times, and wasn't much of a fan because he was orc and terran, but working with ryo in multiple ventures I can attest that the scene is indeed losing a good manager. best of luck in the future ryo, and thanks for all the time you put in. you helped make a lot of these sc2 progamers, not just your brothers.
also you played human and I like humans.

I really hope he starts playing full-time. So talented, his IEM qualifier games with Stephano last summer are still probably my favorite games of Sc2 to date.
There are plans for going international
Lucifron just said he is not going to stop playing for now. So espect to see him up there :D
Yeah, but is he playing full-time?
Lucifron is simply gifted, I am very excited to see him play again if it happens.
yeah he is back and grinding in european ladder this wekend he play EPS vs vortix, and the next one H20 final cup!!
Best of luck Luci!! Hope its full time, cause he is one of the few foreign terrans who gave me that korean terran vibe .
lucifron can get #1 eu on his own will, but i doubt he is playing fulltime, or that he will be able to compete in korea.
which is incredibly sad, because if he was fulltime he would be BY FAR the best foreign T.
I'm talking like his sc2 winrates vs kas and thorzain would be his wc3 winrates vs kas and thorzain ROFL.
He is not playing full full full time, he has university but he has a lot more time than before.
very impressive play at the gathering, beating both merz and morrow 2-0 and now looking very good against grubby having a 2-0 lead (bo5)
if he hasnt played full time these last months he really should, considering grubby have looked really good lately
Lucifron beat me 3 times on ladder. He's a really good player though.

He's been doing well on EU ladder... as always when he plays xD

He is indeed playing a quite a lot lately. He is back to GM in the EU ladder again. He is still studying at University, but he has considered taking less lessons in order to have more time to play. He plays now for a new Spain-based team, Karont3. They are planning to play hard with Lucifron, so he will most likely be seen in more internationals events from now on.
Sounds promising, I guess there is not much reason to hurry to finish your studies in Spain at the moment. Like most places, honestly.

LOL
You are right. If you can earn some money playing and end your studies in a future with better economic environment, so be it!
big fan of luci and to hear him say he will continue to play after The Gathering brings me great pleasure :D
what does lucifron study at uni?
Excellent gameplay shown by Luci in the finals. The last game was really close, I think Lucifron had won much earlier, but it took some suffering. Congratulations to him.
Seems like Lucifron has been retired since beta D:
Retired my foot....... he just won the freaking The Gathering tournament for $10,000! This is the same LucifroN we saw in Warcraft 3, he sort of came out of nowhere and was really really top class able to compete with the best. I'm convinced he's a RTS Genius, or he's practicing more than he is leading on to be.
I was about to comment that he went out with bang by winning the Gathering... then noticed the date... I guess this was his comeback?
He's from Spain where he gets no exposure
He probably was under the illusion that university studies prevents you from playing starcraft.
I feel like you guys coulda chosen a better thread to bump for this. Or make a new thread. Something.
goddd lucifron, orc hwaiting! ^_^
i like it
lucifron afk for 10 years, giving no damn about the scene
thinks something like this: "well hey, its easter, university is boring, lets bash some guys in SC"
goes to the gathering and is owning try hard "pros" with 1 hand and no monitor
Fun to see that he's still able to win stuff, will be interesting to see if he can put up some more good results in the future.
