Q: You've risen first to the WCG Round of 8. Thoughts?
A: This time my luck felt different than before so I was able to win. I think in the last game I won due to Hero's mistake. To be honest I was really nervous, but since I advanced like this I'm glad.

Q: What did you think of today's games?
A: In the second game against Annyeong I lost because of carelessness. If that had happened and then I lost the third game, I think I would have had a lot of regret. But still, I was able to win like this so I'm happy.

Q: The second game was one where you could have seized victory but you let it slip, so you could have been shaken.
A: Annyeong played well. He really played better than I thought he would. Attacks kept getting stopped which could have flustered him, but he played calmly and with confidence. I thought that he was really amazing.

Q: In the last game you used a Nydus Worm strategy.
A: It seems like Hero predicted my strategy but made a mistake. Because the fast Nydus strategy can win you the game if it works or lose if it doesn't, if your opponent detects it he can definitely block it, but owing to Hero's mistake I was able to win. Because people don't use Nydus Worm strategies much these days, I thought that it might be able to do well.

Q: Did you predict that you would advance to the Round of 8 today easily?
A: To be honest I thought I would advance with 3 wins (laughs). So when I lost the second game I fell into a panicked state. I tried to prepare to play the fifth game relaxed, but I knew that if I lost I would lose. I think I got more worried starting then. I was confident that I could advance.

Q: Your next opponent will be Terran no matter what.
A: The most demanding player is MVP. But still, because the players in group B are all tough I predict things being difficult. So I hope that Annyeong will advance in the next game.

Q: Anything you want to say finally?
A: Jang Yeong Hoon and Kim Nam Joon really helped me a lot with ZvZ in practice. A lot of people helped me with ZvT so I can't name them all (laughs). Anyway, I thank them all. I hope that all Zergs, including me, will have strength. Every time I have an interview Zergs aren't doing well, and I get asked what I think. Naturally I'm aware of Zerg's weakness, but I hope that Zergs will reach their potential.

Q: You've advanced to the Round of 8. How do you feel?
A: I'm happy (laughs). It's my first WCG, but if I get through 2 more rounds won't I be one of the country's representatives? I'm just happy (laughs).

Q: You've advanced to the Round of 8, but you don't look satisfied.
A: It seems like the contents of the games weren't clean. I encountered a lot of situations similar to the first game in practice, but I lost in vain. My opponent prepared really well. Because he used play that I didn't predict, I was shaken up (laughs).

Q: In the second game, you won a back-and-forth ZvZ with a comeback.
A: I don't think it was a comeback. My opponent wasn't in such a good position. I looked at the replay later and he needed minerals. Because I won in a tight situation I wasn't very happy.

Q: What advantages do you think using banelings has in ZvZ?
A: It's a personal taste. One reason banelings are good is because units you get from larva are limited, but if you use small units can't you get a big advantage? It's unreasonable, but the baneling isn't a bad unit.

Q: Two Zergs have advanced to the Round of 8 side by side.
A: It's something to celebrate. During Line's game I was cheering him on eagerly. Either way, since Zerg players have a bleak situation, we cheer each other on (laughs).

Q: You'll meet a Terran in the Round of 8.
A: If I can get past the Round of 8, I have a chance. Won't I have to face that race either way? I don't care too much.

Q: Anything you want to say finally?
A: I want to thank the director who came and cheered for me. Prime rocks! Please visit our homepage a lot! (laughs)

Q: Thoughts on advancing to the WCG Korean representative tournament Round of 8?
A: I am half sorry and half happy. I promised with TheBest that we would both advance with two wins, but that didn't happen so it's regrettable.

Q: You did not have an easy group. What was the reason for your first loss?
A: The base trade timing didn't go well for me, so I was not able to play calmly. There was still a chance for me to win, but because I couldn't play calmly I threw the chance away.

Q: In the second game, didn't it look like bionic cannot work against mech?
A: It was possible to play a little more perfectly, but I couldn't so it's regrettable. In games with pros, bionic and mech can both be good so the game isn't decided beforehand. I don't think the strategy determines whether you will do well.

Q: What did you think of having a 4 Terran group?
A: I prepared a lot for using mech, but things didn't turn out according to practice. More than preparing builds, I think using strategies you have experience practicing with is a big help.

Q: In the last game, you had to do a teamkill.
Q: I thought it was a game I would lose. It seems like TheBest made a mistake so I was able to win. Since we said whoever won today would buy food, I will have to do that.

Q: Which player do you think will be the biggest obstacle in WCG?
A: I think the Protosses Oz, MC, and San will be demanding. Personally, TvP is the matchup I need to work on the most.

Q: Anything you want to say?
A: I want to apologize again to TheBest. Code S FXO players fighting! There are only a few days left until the preliminaries; I hope our teammates will do well. Also, my parents sent me a text message but I couldn't send a reply, so I'm sorry.

Q: Thoughts on advancing to the Round of 8 first in your group?
A: It seems like it was a little hard to advance. I'm happy but I think I will have to do better.

Q: What did you think of having a 4 Terran group?
A: Personally, I'm good versus Terran and didn't have to face any teammates, so practice was good. I thought that the group composition was good.

Q: What was the reason you lost to TheBest?
A: Since I lost because of the build matchup, I didn't get flustered and just thought about the next game.

Q: Who was the most demanding player today?
A: Gumiho has a distinctive style so the game with him was difficult. It was a difficult game but I won, so I was glad.

Q: In Starcraft 2, bionic play has many strong points, but you have good mech play.
A: In Starcraft 1 I used a mech style, so things are similar. Not just with mech, but also with bionic play I have confidence.

Q: How will you prepare for the Round of 8?
A: Because I have Code S and WCG, practice could be difficult, but I will practice diligently for both competitions.

Q: What's your goal for this WCG?
A: First, my initial goal is to become a representative for the country and then my goal is to win WCG.

Q: Anything you want to say?
A: I want to thank our sponsor Mom's Touch. Also I want to thank my teammates for their help in practice. Lately our team's results haven't been good so the atmosphere is low, so I hope that we can all recover.

Q: You've gotten the first 3-win performance in the Round of 16. What do you think?
A: To be honest, I didn't think it was the first 3-win so hearing this is good (laughs). It was a relief to join the Round of 8 easily without losing a game.

A: It seems like you won three times easily. What was the key to this?
A: Because I practice a lot with the players who were in my group, I prepared builds that matched up to their styles. So I think that's why I was able to do well. My luck was good.

Q: How was your condition today?
A: To be honest, I wasn't able to sleep much so my condition wasn't good. But then when I sat in the booth my condition recovered to 100%. It seems like I'm a person suited for the stage.

Q: Are there any players you don't want to meet in the Round of 8?
A: If MC and MVP advance, I want to avoid them. Those two have a lot of victories, so aren't they deserving of being representatives for Korea? I think meeting them in the Round of 8 would be unfair. Am I not also a player worthy of being a representative? (laughs) But still, if I had to pick one, I think I could play MC comfortably.

Q: Your group has gone to the first rematches of the Round of 16. Out of Oz, sC, and San, who do you think will advance?
A: Because I'm friends with all three of those players, I'm at a loss for predicting who will advance (laughs). But still, since Terran is good against Protoss I wonder whether sC doesn't have an advantageous position. If I look it seems like Terran is OP (laughs).

Q: I am curious what you think of the many new units being added.
A: A lot of new units are being added, and it seems like many of them are very strong. I think the current condition of the game will be changed a lot. Looking at Terran's position, it seems like the Zerg units will be overpowered. Sincerely.

Q: Do you have confidence that you can become the country's representative?
A: I heard that the deciding Round of 4 for the representatives is at Busan G-Star. Busan is my hometown, so I definitely want to advance to the Round of 4 and see my family and win the opportunity to be the country's representative.

Q: Anything you want to say finally?
A: I want to thank HongUnPrime and IM_Mvp for helping me practice this morning.

Q: Thoughts on joining the Round of 8 at the end of rematches?
A: Because I started off with two losses, I thought 100% I would get knocked out, but luckily thanks to MarineKing I was able to advance.

Q: MarineKing said “Since Terran is OP sC will advance.” Do you agree?
A: I think that it is said that Terran is OP because of early game builds, but if it goes to the midgame things are even. Because this time I didn't advance because of builds but at the end of long back and forth games, it doesn't seem like my win was owing to race imbalance.

Q: You have been showing a weak form against San.
A: Every time we play, he seems like a different player with a different style. It seems like things are strangely left undone, but he continually endures. I think it's something I need to stop personally. In today's games it was like that two times.

Q: In the final rematch game against San, you won with a comeback.
A: No matter how disadvantageous the strong points of Terran are [for San], I only had one final strong attack. Truthfully I had nothing to believe in besides that and it was a relief that it worked. Since I got to the Round of 8 due to good luck, I hope that I will have good luck in the Round of 8 as well.

Q: It would seem that since you rose to the Round of 8 difficultly, you would hope that you don't fall out easily. Who do you most want to not meet?
A: If I just don't meet MVP, I think I can advance to the Round of 4 easily. He is as he appears in broadcast games. He's really perfect in all aspects. It seems I have a lot of things to learn.

Q: Do you feel confident you can advance to the Round of 4?
A: I always feel confident, but I don't practice enough to warrant that feeling (laughs). With pain as an excuse I don't practice, and it seems like my skills stay at the same level. I always think that I need to practice more diligently (laughs).

Q: Anything you want to say finally?
A: Today is the director's daughter's 100th day. Sincerely, congratulations. I think today's win will be a big help, so I'm happy. I want to thank CreatorPrime, MVP_Finale, MVP_Noblesse, and TSL_Alive for helping today in practice.

Q: Thoughts on advancing to the Round of 8 with three wins?
A: I couldn't have predicted that I would advance with three wins. Since my expectations were exceeded, I'm really happy.

Q: Of today's games, which has left the largest impression and which was most difficult?
A: The third game [against MC] remains in my memory. There's a 50% chance for that strategy to work, so I was fretting about whether or not to use it. When I did end up using the build and it worked, I was shaking. The hardest game was the game with MVP, where because I switched from Bio to mech, when MVP attacked my expansion I had to pull all my workers and go for an all-in attack.

Q: How is your winrate against MVP usually?
A: In the past I lagged behind MVP at a 3:7 ratio. Now I can beat him a little, so I think it has become more like 4:6.

Q: Do you feel confident that you can win?
A: Since I advanced with three wins today, I gained confidence that I can win.

Q: Which player do you think will get second place in the group?
A: Naturally I want MVP to advance. I want to face him once again in the finals.

Q: Anything you want to say?
A: I want to thank Park Shi Hyun, IM_dreamertt, and Prime's Kim Hong Jae. And I want to thank the director for waking up early today and coming to the games with me. I thank our team's sponsors, Steelseries, Googims, and Coca-Cola.

Q: Thoughts on advancing to the Round of 8 in rematches?
A: When I started off with two losses, I thought I would get eliminated and I emptied my heart, but I was able to advance difficultly through the rematches. It was a difficult fight but I won so I'm happy.

Q: Why weren't you doing well in the first games?
A: When I came to the stadium, I was thinking that I would lose. It seems like an excuse but lately I've been going to foreign tournaments, so I was exhausted and I had to sleep for 20 hours. Therefore I was hardly able to practice. While I played today's games I kept thinking I would lose, so I didn't play well.

Q: Your condition has still not recovered?
A: I'm still exhausted. Initially I am not able to sleep well, and then I also went to foreign tournaments, so it seems like I accrued a lot of fatigue.

Q: Which game stays in your memory most?
A: The final rematch game against MC. I really thought I would lose. It was a situation where if MC could have just defended he would have won, but during the attack an opportunity presented itself to me.

Q: Happy said he wanted to meet you in the finals.
A: I am thankful to Happy. He won 3 times and thanks to that it was able to go to rematches. Because I advanced so difficultly, I definitely want to become the representative for Korea.

Q: What do you think of there being no Protoss in the Round of 8?
A: Lately there haven't been many Protosses in leagues so I haven't been able to play TvP much. I would like to play a lot of Protoss next time.

Q: Recently you've been playing a lot of games overseas.
A: Every time I leave the foreign tournaments I feel like that, but the foreign fans' cheers overcome my heart. So I want to return again, but I think it will be difficult to adapt to the time difference and different food and other things.

Q: Which player do you think will be the biggest obstacle to becoming the representative for Korea?
A: All the remaining players are very good so it will be difficult, but since it has been difficult to rise this far I will absolutely become the Korean representative.

Q: Anything you want to say?
A: I want to thank IM_Yonghwa, IM_Seed, NsHS_San, and CreatorPrime for helping in practice. I've been having troubles with my cellphone for a while so I haven't been able to contact friends. I hope people that try to contact me will understand.

Wow thanks man! Group D was awesome to watch.
Very unfortunate that Hero didn't make it to the ro8, he's my favorite Protoss.

Also I like Sc's answer here:
Q: MarineKing said “Since Terran is OP sC will advance.” Do you agree?
A: I think that it is said that Terran is OP because of early game builds, but if it goes to the midgame things are even. Because this time I didn't advance because of builds but at the end of long back and forth games, it doesn't seem like my win was owing to race imbalance.

He didn't fall into the trap set up by the interviewer. That seemed like a drama-inducing question but Sc is not only a smart player, he's most importantly a smart guy. Kudos to him for providing such a well-thought answer.

Wow 8 interviews? Thanks man. Must've been a lot of work. I know a lot of people are bummed out about all the terrans but I think it's a good group. 3 underrated terrans in Happy, Supernova and Gumiho, the return of sC to prominence, and of course MVP and MKP who need no introduction.

Q: Anything you want to say finally?
A: Today is the director's daughter's 100th day. Sincerely, congratulations.

It's sort of like a birthday, his daughter was born 100 days ago which is celebrated in Korea with some like ritual stuff and traditional foods.

I wonder if someone is going to blame the 6/8 Terrans on tournament structure, like they do with Code S.

100th day is a Korean celebration.

"Another birthday celebration is Baek-il (100th-day celebration). During this celebration, the family worships Samshin. They make her offerings of rice and soup for having cared for the infant and the mother, and for having helped them live through a difficult period. They give thanks to Samshin and also pray for jae-ak (wealth), longevity, and cho-bok (traditional word for "luck").[5] After the prayer the family, relatives and friends celebrate with rice cakes, wine, and other delicacies such as red and black bean cakes sweetened with sugar or honey. In order to protect the child, red bean rice cakes are placed at the four compass points of the house. This not only brought protection, but was also believed to bring good fortune and happiness.[6] It is widely believed by the Korean people that if 100 people share the rice cakes the child will live a long life, so the family would also send rice cakes to neighbors and others. Those who receive rice cakes return the dishes with lengths of thread (expressing the hope for longevity), rice and money (symbolizing future wealth).[7]"

I didn't necessarily expect it but Line is my favorite zerg player lol. Ever since super tournament.

He has been the most impressive player in this tournament so far. And I'm a huge fan of his TvZ style.

I hope he crushes Happy... damn I can't stand that dude for no particular reason

Except for Happy, I like all of those terrans. It's not that Happy isn't a good player, but I haven't liked his interviews, nor his group nomination appearances. I want Happy to lose. Is that awful?

MKP and MVP fighting!

EDIT: Also, thank you for translating!

As soon as the rumors started that Zenex was basically dead I was seriously wondering where Line would end up. With him playing this well so far I am hoping he does indeed find a good team.
