Arirang TV's E-sports program will replace it's Thursday Starcraft broadcasts with Starcraft 2 starting November. Jason Lee and Tasteless have been broadcasting Starcraft for Arirang since 2008 and Starcraft 2 since this summer. They will now go Starcraft 2 Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays 3 times a day. Times of the broadcasts as well as the live stream of the station are available at arirang.co.kr (click "TV").
Previous episodes can be found on youtube by searching: arirang starcraft 2 e-sports
I'm sorry guys. I don't like Jason Lee. I didn't like how he constantly compared SC2 against BW, I don't like the way he has this almost arrogant attitude, the weird way he tried rib his co-caster on one of the GSL seasons...however.
If he has truly learned the game the way he needed to, then sure I'll give him a chance. I may be watching primarily for reasons of Tasteless, but as for Jason Lee, that remains to be seen.
I watched some of the bw casts on Arirang and it was a terrible production. The games were partly cut to fit two games into the 30 minute segment of the program. The matches were just random Ro128 or something games from GOM Classic and were taken completely out of any context. The broadcasts were actually a really good example of what we do not want SC2 to become if it ever goes on ESPN or such.
Jason Lee and Tasteless casting at GOM was seriously awesome. I tried viewing some of the 300K vods up on Arirang's website (hoping to find some Jason Lee and Tasteless SC1 action, which apparently is broadcast every wednesday) but they're WMP or something, and won't play on my mac .
Long edit:

Just kidding ... I'd love to see SDM and Tasteless cast again.
The show airs Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 00:30, 04:00, 08:00 Seoul time. They are slowly uploading episodes on youtube, search: e-sports, arirang starcraft 2
They are currently airing games from the GSL approximately a year old both Code A and Code S. The plan now is to do only Code S and select Code A games that do not require editting. For your feedback to the show and contribution to the future direction of the show visit arirang.co.kr and click "TV" then "e-sports". Leave a message on the message board with your ideas.
One of the premier face palm moments in the early GSLs. Although the game was new, iunno hope its a good program, glad to see Tasteless doing more shows though.
Ok So i'm on the WebSite It says the show airs ever Thursday and Friday. arirang.co.kr But i can't find out on the Site where it says what time exactly it Airs Thursday and Friday..!? Like what time of Day does it Air?
Woah on Youtube all i could find was some random accounts that had Videos Featured for Arirang E-Sports SC2? is there any Official Aririang Account to watch these Vods on. Or do we have to go through these random Uploaders.
So When i searched the Term:arirang starcraft 2 e-sports
The first videos to come up are Zergerkings videos One of the uploaders appeared to have uploaded episodes 45,46 how long has this show been out.?
I never realised Tasteless, and Jason Lee have been doing this together for so long!
Well currently it seems like BW is being broadcasted on Wednesdays, with SC2 on Thursdays and Fridays. So... BW is being dropped, and SC2 added on Saturdays?
Had no idea Tasteless was casting commentating BW games after GOM (or before, for that matter).

Yes BW is still broadcast on Wednesdays. The changes will go into effect mid-November. The latest episode of BW will be uploaded shortly.

lol i very doubt youll ever see tasteless cast with daniel ever again haha
Jason Lee and his former co-caster on Arirang were the biggest trolls lmao. I used to watch Arirang when I was living in Germany. It has some pretty good variety shows with bw pros/coaches but their bw program (in terms of starleague games) was garbage: 1 match a week, which sometimes was cut short to fit in the 30 min slot, and the games were old as shit.
Hopefully the quality improves with their addition of Tasteless.

Yes, they have been casting Starcraft together since 2008. Gom scouted Tasteless from Arirang's E-sports show.
Sorry if im being dumb but i couldn't find the Time of Day on Thursdays,Friday,Saturday that the Show is on Air.
I would really like to watch the Show but i couldn't find on arirang website what time of day on those days; that the Show Airs.

Jason Lee is doing good job as a caster but I really don't like him, because he only says what's going in the game and nothing more. He won't say his opinion about something or predictions or something what Artosis always does, he is just boring caster.

By design. When he casted for GOM before, he knew very little about the game so him trying to predict would have been disastrous. He did the right thing.
IIRC his main job is as a sports caster (baseball I think?).
I was just watching the VODS on their Youtube Channel and the casting is Superb by Jason Lee his Casting is Seriously amazing and paired with Tasteless its just friqin amazing.
Jason Lee during the Games when he shouts during battles; *Nerd Chills* Its just epic he's such a good Caster especially paired with Tasteless they work so great together...!

have you never watched professional sports?
you always need a guy who doesn't step onto unfamiliar territory when it comes to casting. someone who just reads the news with a good voice if you will.
you've got guys without much knowledge spewing crap when it comes to casting and you've got guys with crappy voices and bad articulation shouting. there are different roles you need to fulfil when it comes to casting professionally.
all sports casts have a knowledgeable guy(colour analyst) and a guy with a good television voice who is fluent and can tell you what's going on.i 100% believe this formula needs to be applied to sc2. get jason lee and a ex-pro gamer and you're good to go. he was paired with idra and it was outstanding.

then we have different opinions. IdrA + Jason was like worst thing ever, idra says like 2 words in 5 minutes and jason is talking about exactly what everything sees.
I watched this program during my trip to Hong Kong during the summer. It was really hard to watch. The quality of the program was worse than that of a local news station.

talking about what he sees? you can make anything sound bad.
you need a guy commentating on what's happening. that's what casting is about, feeding people information. you need to feed people information in a structured manner instead of randomly like it is right now.
i'd rather have "he's queing up marines while upgrading while taking another expansion" then the colour analyst saying "he's going for a 3 base timing push to break blah blah blah his build is great for defeating this high macro style of blah blah blah" than hearing 2 casters analyzing the build and giving their own respective feedback. it creates debate among the casters and confusing.
how many times have you heard stuff like "i think this build is great vs mutas" "yeah but he could easily differentiate builds and switch tech if he scouts it" "yeah that's true nvm".
when you hear a basketball broadcast you hear marv albert or whoever saying what's going on then when theres a break you hear reggie miller(ex player) or stan van gundy(an ex coach) talking about the play they just did and how it worked. what casters are doing right now is that you have 2 people doing colour and play-by-play and you don't play to caster strengths.
imagine having idra do play-by-play commentary. it would be bad because he's very knowledgeable with a lackluster voice. he would be amazing on colour.
Oh yes more Jason Lee. This is a (Intell) classic combo. There has never been an archon that demerged before. Maybe it will become something beautiful. I'm sure they are still hetero nerd life partners.
Jason Lee, is one the best co-casters to grace GOM TV during SC1, Im ashamed to say however that When his name is mentioned the trolling questions are the first thing that comes to mind LOL. Think he and Tasteless will do an awesome show.
Jason LEE!!!!!!! I've never forgotten about that time he casted in the Early GSL. Even though he didn't know much about the game his casting personality was so like-able and funny.
Him paired with Tasteless works so well! Gonna be tuning in for this Keep this thread alive Yaletown!
These are old games, but I like these two casters a lot. Hopefully this keeps on going. This TV station is a hidden gem that caters to the Korean language as well as the English language and has been doing so for years.
livestream? i didnt read that the first time i came here xD epic!
and i agree they make a great combo. They're quite opposite, too. This is an example of a commentator/caster example to the extreme. Not to mention the ethnicity difference is interesting too.

That's going on here? Clearly these aren't highlight-games, so what's the deal here?
This is e-sports airing on www.arirang.co.kr 3-times a week. They are currently showing games form GSL Season 3. Arirang is a propaganda channel for Korea. The show is there to promote the global dominance of Koreans in RTS games.

If that were the case, I'd think there were better examples than one barely notable Korean player beating another barely notable Korean player on a horrid map.
Arirang is propaganda? You sure you're not from North Korea? Not all cultural programming is 'propaganda'. And showing old GSL games with inferior play to modern foreigners is not a good way to show off Korean dominance anyways.

Sorry you're dissappointed. The game was from early this year. Maybe that's all arirang is allowed to show. They show top players and top games too. It airs 3 days a week so I guess it's just the luck of the draw. Perhaps, this show will help make us appreciate the good even more.

My apologies for using incorrect vocabulary. Arirang is a nationally funded TV station in Korea with a mission to promote Korean culture internationally. E-sports is a program aimed at showing the world Korea's unique e-sports culture.

No man, I'm not disappointed.
When I read "Tasteless and Jason Lee", I think of entertainment and a fun, emotional cast, not state of the art super-recent analytical commentary on recent metagame development.
So I enjoyed the show very much, I just couldn't understand the odd choice of game.
When and how do I watch this show. is it something you watch through gom streamer. OP is light on details..
the most recent VODs seem to be of games on maps like blistering sands and jungle basin. I can get arirang on gom streamer so I guess ill wait til the next esports show?

Haha, how can you call his cast arrogant? He was quite humble in comparing the two games, and it's hard not to talk about SC1 when you know, it's kind of the reason SC2 even exists? Also the reason Starcraft 2 esports exists in the first place.
