I was watching NBC earlier this evening and saw a brief clip of next week's (10/27) episode of The Office. The episode is halloween themed and it appeared to me that character Dwight Schrute was dressed as The Queen of Blades herself, Kerrigan (SC1/BW era).
It doesn't appear this clip is posted on nbc's website yet. Did some internet digging and the episode is titled 'Spooked!' and is on next thursday.
Did anyone else see the clip? Am I dreaming?
Assuming it is Kerrigan, my followup questions are: - Is Rainn Wilson a Starcraft Fan? - If yes, we should introduce him to Rain - Or, if not Rainn Wilson, is it some other office writer/actor that is responsible?
it seems to me that this is a cheap attempt by the office to get more viewers by drawing in starcraft fans. How should the community react to such a blatant attempt at forcing the show on fans of Starcraft?
I say watch it. Tune in even if you don't like the office. If The office is able to boost viewers by including a Starcraft reference, TV execs will take notice, and it will bring us one step closer to viewing matches on TV.

uhh cheap attempt for viewers? Or it is instead what any show will do... capitalize on popular things and slip them in for humor. Its pretty standard and not cheap. Was Will Wheaton wearing a zerg shirt in big bang theory cheap as well?
Also forcing fans? Seriously? Why do people on the internet always come up with crazy theories...

in the latest episode. Its somewhat subtle since it is only the zerg symbol and not a unit or anything but to you as a sc2 fan it should be obvious
If I'm not mistaken then producer of The Office was making a film at IPL3 or MLG. Fairly certain at least one of the higher ups there plays/watched SC2.

Hehe, I would definitely see that episode of The Office if Starcraft was included. It has been a while since I've watched that show, and I still fondly remember the Call of Duty 1 episode. "You DO NOT snipe on Carentan!"

I think we should start a movement called "Occupy Scranton"
Also for anyone who cares, in this weeks episode of The Big Bang Theory archenemy of Shelldon Will Wheaton wore some Starcraft 2 apparel. Just noticed it last night.
Well Rainn Wilson and Stieg Hedlund (one of the guys who help design the original Starcraft) went to high school together at New Trier High School, so I wouldn't be entirely surprised at some sort of connection.

Make sure you at least finish up to season 3. The first 3 seasons are pure genius. 4 5 6 7 range from "bad to good enough for entertainment." But you should definitely finish season 2 and 3 because there are some crucial story lines that you have to let develop first.
As a big the office, zerg, kerrigan, and Dwight fan, I have to say this is the best thing I've ever seen in my life. It's the culmination of awesome.
It's kerrigan no doubt, and yeah, as the seasons passed by the show started to get a little watered down, but I still watch it... can't wait for this episode :D

Therefore clearly ruining esports. IDK, seems kinda cool I guess. If they where really hunting for SC fans, they would've used a much clearer shot.
It had to be Dwight! I can't wait to see if he actually has a line where he says, "I'm the Queen of Blades? StarCraft? I'm huge in Korea? Kerrigan, I'm Sarah Kerrigan!"

It's definitely Kerrigan. You can tell by looking at the breasts. His costume has the same circular pattern on the breasts that kerrigan has. No one else has that

lol, I just saw this commercial on Sunday Night Football and googled "Dwight Kerrigan" to see if anyone else saw it. This is the thread I found. I love teamliquid :D
I should say in Will Wheaton's case, it's probably less about placement and more because he's a huge nerd. I mean he plays D&D. And a nerd doesn't need costuming to tell them how to dress up as a nerd.

I have it on good authority from a friend who works at NBC that there will be a scene featuring Dwight actually playing SC2 during the episode. Apparently it will not be as featured as Call of Duty was in season two but it will play an important role in the episode. Just wanted to make sure everyone tunes in tonight to support esports. Because dissing this even without a reason seems popular, I'll add one. If we want to watch StarCraft stuff, WE WATCH STARCRAFT STUFF. +1 view to some obscure reference that may or may not matter at all long term < +1 view to a livestream of anything with someone playing full games.

Wow I tuned into the office after a long time (being a huge fan of the earlier seasons of the show) and I must say I think this is going to be its last season.. show desperately needs Steve Carell. I think Ed Helms is a funny actor, but he's no Steve =(. Overall the episode didn't have any laugh out loud moments at all :/
With that being said, the SC2 reference/backstory with dwight and the kid was cute, put a smile on my face xD. SC2 is going mainstream woo. but I think it may have been a cheap attempt at getting some sc2 viewers or maybe the writer really liked sc2 and just saw it being a part of the episode. Either way, it was kinda cool but also kinda sad to see where The Office is now.
Are you guys serious about them trying to attract viewers? You realize that their ratings are in the millions. The thousands they might gain from SC2 is nothing compared to what they would get from referencing some other trendy shit that people would want.
They included it because someone on their staff is a fan.

He's at 110/200 supplies though, so there's no reason to be banking that much resources. Could be worse, at least he survived long enough to gather that much. But still pretty bad.
I remember hearing an interview with Ed Helms once. In the interview it was discussed how the actors pretty much just mess around on their computers all through the filming, just to give it that sort of pseudo-office feel. (Ed Helms said he tended to read Banjo blogs. Seems Andy's musical interest wasn't something the writers came up with!) Anyway, it wouldn't surprise me if someone there was playing SC2 when they are filming sometimes. With Dwight and the kid, I'll wager they were just playing around with a custom game all through the filming.

For anyone who cares there is also a shot of SC2 in the new Green Lantern movie. When they first show the bad guy he is in a room is like 3 screens and when he takes off his glasses and the screen pans in one of the screens is a game of pvz.

In that episode, they describe Andy's costume as a "labourer" but the second I saw him I thought Team Fortress 2's engineer. Wonder if that's a coincidence...
I watched Office last night with my g/f and seeing Dwight dress like Kerrigan made my heart all warm inside. Later in the episode Dwight plays SC2 with the boss's son. It was a funny episode.
Andy's costume was funny the boss said something like "So on the day of fantasy you dress up as a working person?"

Are you guys really analyzing the kid's game? lolll
Like seriously, d you really think hes worried about his macro? lol For all we know the game was probably on for a while not being touched, while they were filming, cuz they probably had to shoot some scenes multiple times. Especially that it was a 2vX on Metalopolis so its definitely a custom game. It is funny that you guys zoomed in and caught the Mins, Gas n Supply though
Anyways, as soon as I saw Dwight my heart jumped and Kerrigan came to mind right away, and throughout that whole scene i was hoping so badly that he would say he was Kerrigan! It made me so happy when he did

I was watching that episode with some friends and as soon as they mentioned SC, everyone asked if I knew what they were talking about... Of course I said yes!
I realize that this is really just a replay that they're showing on the computer, but I'm wondering a few things. 1 - is it a pro replay? 2 - did they do it on metalopolis (Favorite map ever) on purpose? Maybe if there's any good SC2 fans on the board that made this, they might have done it as a shout out to the fact that it's back in the ladder pool! :D 3 - I now realize that it can't be a pro replay... macro slipped a bit. (just a little)
I just finished watching the new episode, man that was funny. I was surprised they actually played starcraft on the computer in the show, on the best map ever Metalopolis too! :D
Screw Toby, always ruining Dwight's fun. This time he took Dwight's costume wings complete knives tied to them!! I was as giddy as a school girl watching that episode. The kid's lurker plug in it was awesome. I want my lurkers back!
