There's still a viewing party and a LIVE Live on 3 at the Hilton which is located ~10 feet away from the Anaheim Convention Center, where Blizzcon will be.

I really think that this event didn't need the hype. It would have went much better if it was promoted exclusively outside the convention center. The turnout may have been much less but you guys need to start out small. Blizzcon is a massive event. I'm sure Blizzard would have been able to accomodate people who couldn't attend the event.

I'm not saying that we all have to be basement dwelling nerds (when I was in my teens I went to an all boys school and became literally incapable of looking/talking at/to a girl apart from family so I can definitely relate to social difficulties that come with the stereotype), and I use this term just because it's fun, not to piss anyone off as a lot of you may have misunderstood, most of us know ourselves that we don't live in a basement, I've been referring to myself as a nerd even when going out for many years now trying to give people the impression that gamers go out and do stuff and are people with souls too. You should be proud of who you are and what you do, that's why me and other friends each other all sorts of dorky names (the stereotypes) and constantly make jokes about it. If you feel angry about my post then obviously you're not comfortable with who you are or aren't very good at taking jokes. The latter is fine but the former is unacceptable! If you're not proud of being a nerd then you are changing yourself for the worse imo.

However I don't really care if you say the stereotype isn't there because it is. I have struggled for many years with getting my friends to go out anywhere simply because they don't feel comfortable in a bar/club/whatever environment (I'm not going to force them to go), as they've got older it has become less of a problem but that's only because they are 24-25 years old with careers, some of them still don't want to go out though. So of course we would get together at somewhere familiar like a friend's place which is fine too but that's besides the point for what we are discussing.

I still think that Ultimate Barcraft had a problem with numbers, yeah if all of your friends are going then you probably will go, but if you go by yourself how comfortable will you feel about that?

Please prove me wrong and give some other clarification why the event was cancelled.

The only reason it was canceled because the funding didn't go through.

They only raised 1,629.55 out of $30,000 need for the expense like buying food renting the venue. There is no way they can cover the rest of the money on their own.

Thanks for the clarification. So, what we really need to happen is perhaps several smaller events, like the one that many of the teams are sponsoring to replace this one. That's a very steep price, I'm sure something could be organised with a lot less expenses. But I think it's pretty hard to be able to raise that money since there will be little to no financial input from your average joe.

Perhaps SC2 players could just, all meet at a bar and take over lol? If they have any sort of projection or TV set up (which is like, every bar in the states that I ever went to) I know that our community has the expertise and probably even the gear to turn a sports bar into an Esports bar.
