Nestea is actually below 50% on the KR ladder and not even in GM so quite possible. http://sc2ranks.com/kr/1475901/IMNesTea Nestea has said time and time again that he doesn't take ladder seriously, and just fools around on it. Beating Nestea on ladder and beating him in a tournament are two different things.

While this announcement is pretty awesome, I think some people are overestimating the "go to Korea and come back a pro" effect. You're not going to go to Korea for a short period of time and somehow become top of the world. If I recall correctly, HuK took months and months before he started having good showings. He was able to practice with the oGs guys a lot because he spent time forming a relationship with them. This trust and kinship makes the practicing a lot more natural than simply moving into a house full of random unknowns that speak a different language for a few weeks.
I don't know, I don't feel as if a short term stint in Korea will be able to improve your skill by THAT much. A decent amount maybe, but I doubt we'll be seeing Drewbie on the top anytime soon. Same goes for IdrA, although he's already kind of at the top of the foreign scene.
Either way, good luck and train hard Drewbie!

He won't become a bonjwa (or even banjo?) in 6 weeks, but I'm sure it'll be good training that might give him an edge in foreigner events. He's already training on the Korean server quite often when he streams.
Good luck!

Grats to Drewbie! Make the best of it!

sounds like a good opportunity to raise his horizons. GL.

finnaly! Drewbie make's me a fan!!! I always had a feeling he didnt take practice serious and it was all just good fun for him! Happy im wrong.
glglgl drewbie

Congratulations to Drewbie for the opportunity

Take Minigun with you, Drewbie!
Mini got a mad talent, to bad he doesnt take sc2 thaat seriously.
|
Nice! Hope Drewbie sees huge improvements while out in Korea. If it weren't for him and his stream i'd still have no clue about Parov Stelar.
|
i guess this is the first time we see a player going to Korea with the only goal to train and not participate to GSL in any ways. GL Drewbie ! Smart move
|
dont see him qualifying 1st time but give it a couple shots and i think he can make it kind of an underrated player
|
Awesome! Good luck Drewbie, and I hope you do great things with this opportunity!

Nice! GL Drewbie! Wishing you the best. Destroy at MLG Orlando

The thing about Nestea, and he has even said this himself, is that his only advantage to other players is his preparation and that he's so smart he can play mind games. He's not as fast as younger players and for this reason he don't do super well on ladder.
Dont be a retard. Actually watch Nestea games before you decide to commentate on what hes capable of. He's clearly on par with the best of the best when it comes to mechanics. Combine that with his superior strategy, game sense, and preparation you have zerg godliness. When Nestea talks about how hes not as fast as other players hes just saying that to be humble since thats just how most koreans are.

Honestly, at first I didnt think Drewbie was that good but recently his play has been impressive! I'm very excited to see how he plays after these 6 weeks!
|
With all of my heart and soul, I wish you the best of luck, Drewbie! <3

I don't understand why people are discussing Nestea when I only meant to encourage Drewbie.
|
So will he be trying for GSL Oct. qualifiers if he's only staying for six weeks?
I've never really been a fan, but anyone who's willing to put in the effort to get better has my support.
