The purpose of this thread is to give us avid SC2 fans (1) some direction in deciding what VODs to watch and (2) a way to share games we've enjoyed watching and think other TLers will also get a kick out of (for reference: the hallowed BW Recommended VODs of current games thread).
Here are the rules of the Recommended SC2 VOD Thread. If you use the template below and are mindful of spoilers, you'll probably be in compliance.
Recommended game submissions must contain the following:
A link directly to the page hosting the VOD of the game, if the VOD is available (where no such link exists, include the most convenient link and instructions on how to navigate to the VOD from that link)
IDs/names of the players involved
All identifying information for the game: tournament/event, match/group, and set number
The date that the game was first broadcast (any time zone works)
IDs/names of the commentators
In spoiler tags labeled "spoiler-free", a description of the game that explains why the game belongs in this thread, but does not spoil the game's result or some juicy fact about the game that's best left a mystery (use your best judgment)
A poll that allows readers to rate the game on the following three-point scale:
1: This game does not belong in this thread
2: I enjoyed watching this enough that I would have recommended it here myself
3: This game is an earth-shattering must-watch for any SC2 fan
If a submission's poll results are too low, it may be removed from this thread.
Submissions may also contain additional description of, information about, or comment on the game. Anything flies, as long as it's useful or interesting to viewers and reasonably spoiler-free (see Rule 4). Some ideas:
Relevant TLPD and Liquipedia links
The map
Relevant background reading or viewing (post-match interview? TL drama thread?)
If knowledge of a player involved would spoil the result of any set or match played shortly before the recommended game (for example, in the 3set-5set of MSL format group play, the 2set-7set of a GSTL/Winners League format team match, or in the elimination stages of a several-day tournament), the player's name must be in spoiler tags.
If knowledge of the set number would spoil the result of any set or match played shortly before the recommended game (for example, in the 5set-7set of a best-of-seven), the set number must be in spoiler tags or spoiler-free terms (for example, the "final set" of a BoX).
If a comment on or description of a game spoils the game's result, it must be in spoiler tags.
If a comment on or description of a game reveals some juicy fact about the game that's best left a mystery, it should be in spoiler tags. Use your best judgment.
General TL spoiler etiquette applies.
Failure to follow any of these rules may result in the modification or deletion of your post in this thread.
Here is a template you can use to make a recommendation in this thread:

<insert 3-option poll using link above reply field>
great rivalry, great crowd, wild game-deciding battle featuring an unexpected use of a niche unit...
keep in mind that foreigners-vs-Koreans was a big storyline at this tourney; and everyone was curious how IdrA would approach PvZ considering he'd been complaining about balance issues in the matchup in the months preceding this event.
Sometimes you want to watch a long, close game with frequent lead changes and epic battles. Sometimes you want to watch an epic comeback after the commentators have long since called a player dead. But sometimes, just sometimes, you simply want to see one player dominate with such well-executed creative play that you wonder if their opponent even had a chance.

Yup. Even stuff that's behind a pay wall is completely fair game. People without a subscription will just have to skip over the VOD or pony up.

As the thread grows such a list will become too difficult to maintain. The nature of threaded posting will order the VOD recommendations chronologically (in general), so they'll be somewhat organized already.

Better the way it is - you can keep up with where you were in the thread and make sure not to miss any epic games.
PvZ on terminus. One of the most intriguing styles of PvZ I have ever seen. Features non-stop aggression, mass pheonix and chargelots. A lot of multi-pronged harassment. Very exciting game.

I still see the opportunity here to create a library of epic games. I don't suggest that any recommended VOD will be listed in the OP, but the most epic games should be linked.
A TvT back in September 2010 . The game involves some old mech TvT with several nukes. The game also features a crazy comeback from one of the players!.

Players: PoltPrime.WE vs SlayersMMA Game: LG Cinema 3D Super Tournament Finals, Game 2 Date: June 18, 2011 Commentators: Dan "Artosis" Stemkoski and Nick "Tasteless" Plott
A very underrated game that showcases an interesting TvT style. The current TvT metagame is split between marine-tank, marine-marauder-medivac, and the increasingly popular pure mech. Each are usually characterized by these features:
- Marine-tank: slow and meticulous entrenchment in key areas to take advantage of choke points and cliffs, marines acting as both buffers for siege tanks and mobile extensions of the main army, use of vikings to extend siege tank range - Marine-marauder-medivac: highly mobile and easy to replace compared with mech and marine-tank, heavily reliant on flanking and drops to break siege lines, aims to out-expand the other two playstyles and gradually choke them out economically by attacking where the army isn't - Pure mech: extremely gas-intensive and powerful (which makes it hard to replace), relies on tanks to deal damage while using hellions and thors to absorb the brunt of enemy attacks, passive in the early game besides hellion harass, dependent on large pushes in the mid-late game to crush the opponent
One of the players uses marine-tank but in an very aggressive style that closely resembles MMM (take special note how he consistently pushes in the same area to deny the third expansion). Combined with near-perfect micro he comes out ahead in nearly every engagement and eventually wins the game.

Amazing ~30 min TvZ on Shakuras with a lot of back and forth action. Plenty of drops, amazing micro and macro management coupled with staggering fights throughout the whole game. You'll see pretty much all units involved here, with the exception of battlecruisers. What makes this game special is ithe way both player handle the pressure they both apply to each other, which makes for a mindblowing viewing experience

Historic series featuring long macro games and exciting moments. Specifically, game 4 for its constant action and the final game for a unique (but now archaic) build. However, the biggest impact was the context behind the games -- a monumental moment in Korea vs world mentality with regards to SC2

Oh, and sorry for the stupidity, but how do you make the tlpd links go to the SC2 profile rather than the BW one? I tried searching, but I could not find anything.
I think something very interesting would be to have a "game of the day" that would be in the OP. It would change daily. That would be better for someone just trying to catch a single game during their lunch break.

Warning: Turn your volume to 0.05% before clicking on VOD link to prevent Day[9] from blowing out your speakers. Seriously. He's usually loud, but that was pretty absurd.
as someone who only wants to watch a few sc2 games a week, I REALLY APPRECIATE THIS THREAD !!!!!!!! This is awesome, thanks for all the hard work guys!!
Long, back and forth game on Shakuras Plateau showcasing insane unit mixtures in the late-game. Amazing micro and staggering engagements throughout the game.
Can I please request, though, that free or subscription-required VODs are marked appropriately? The first set of a match in GSL is free, for instance, and it'd be a shame if someone missed an awesome VOD because they didn't know that.

Absolutely love the premise behind this thread. These sort of descriptions are a little upsetting though... Saying that "Winner wins a seemingly unwinnable game" is actually a spoiler in my opinion. Sitting there on the edge of your seat, watching player A rip up player B, you already know that player B will win....

It was the most entertaining TvT game I ever saw. MarineKing goes for a marauders, marines and medivac composition while NaDa goes for marines medivacs and siege tanks. The game turns quickly into a base trade and there the Show begins.

You can watch most GSL VODs via sc2rep.com. They just are moderately low quality with Korean commentary.
Very glad this thread was finally started in earnest for SC2, as an old SC1 fan... but also it makes me quite sad that I can hardly watch any of these VODs because I haven't paid for their various programs. Makes me nostalgic for the old days of BW when everything was free...

However, I think it would be nice if the OP was updated with the better hated games (maybe those with 80% plus 3star ratings or something along this line). In order not to clutter up th OP, you could just post the links to the post containing the description and VOD.

Boxer is the handle that Marineking first used before he switched names. It was in honor of Boxer, and the reason why many people referred to him as "Foxer", i.e., fake Boxer.

For those without a subscription to GomTV, here's the Artosis-scream game. Apologies for the quality, but better than nothing, IMO.
(Vote): 3 - sick sick sick (Vote): 2 - I'd recommend it (Vote): 1 - what's this doing here
I watched this live and it was incredible (hard, because MMA and Drewbie was going on at the same time), and I'd love to watch it again, but I didn't realize you needed a pass to watch the VOD's. Do you know if MLG vods usually get uploaded onto youtube or somewhere else after the tournament?
Incredible build order. Inspiring as hell and totally surprised I haven't seen this more often, since it looks so bad-ass. Quick game, so totally worth 10-15 minutes.
Sorry I'm not posting a VOD, rather I'm asking: could anyone point me in the direction of some SlayerS Alicia VODS or replays? I'm having a really difficult time finding any.
This game is getting passed around the internet a lot, and with good reason. Destiny is placed in a massive disadvantage, but plays extremely efficiently to make a close game long after most people would gg
Unbelievably high level play from both players means a very satisfying watch; this is both MVP and July at their bests. Add a cool lategame tactic executed perfectly and you have an absolutely sick game...
Two confessed rivals on the NA server meet up once more for another showdown! On previous faceoffs coLMinigun was able to take the best over IdrA so now hes back with vengeance...or not
A game showcasing Stephano's signature upgraded Speedling style versus MMA's Tank/Hellion/Marine pressure, evolving into an Ultra/Crackling/Infestor vs MMMGhost slugfest with action all over the map.
An amazing 50+ minute PvZ on Shattered Temple that shows an impressive showcase of Mothership usage. The map is almost completely mined out, and has a nail biting finish!

I've been asking around since I don't have too much time for watching games live and was directed here. So I'm bumping this asking what epic games have there been recently since this is so out of date.
We have a thread in the BW section like this, we should maintain one for SCII.
