Huk doesn't have the results of a top three Protoss.

MC, Inca, Anypro, Hongun, Tester and Alicia all have better results than him and results are what matter.

Beating MC twice doesn't count as results? What about winning 2 events with koreans in it?

Inca is pvp sniper no doubt, and hungun is underrated but tester and alicia are not as good.

MC
Hongun
Huk

I'm really hoping for Grubby and Mondragon to make a breakthrough in their competitive results. We know from their legacy in WC3 and BW respectively that they are both extremely talented RTS players, though they've been largely overshadowed in SC2 by more active players.

I think a lot of the newer SC2 fans underestimate the talent that Grubby and Mondragon have. Grubby has been a solid GM player on EU ever since his very recent switch, and I think it is only a matter of time before he claws his way up the competition.

Mondragon is a bit random with his results, showing up out of nowhere to amaze everyone with great games before disappearing back into obscurity. However, Mondragon is also a bit random with the amount of work he puts into the game as he is often busy with school and real life. Nevertheless, he has proven that when he puts in a focused amount of time and effort for a competition, he can easily compete with the more dedicated players.

Fortunately who you think is good means nothing. Results however do. I'm ignoring the Open Seasons cause they're probably too out of date now to count.

MC - Code S March win. World Championship Bronze.
Hongun - Ro4, Ro8.
Inca - Code S May Silver
Alicia - Ro16, Ro8 Super Tournament, Code A Ro4.
Tester - Ro8 (at least), Ro16.
Anypro - Ro8 twice, Ro4.

And Huk's record is Ro16 once. There's no contest, his results are not there in Korea. I don't put much value in Dreamhack/Homestory in terms of ranking Korean players. The standard is infinitely lower than GSL and most Koreans aren't even invited.

Anybody who watches SC2 instead of blindly sucking Korean dick and obsessing over ancient tournament places knows that MC and Huk are in a separate league than every other Protoss on that list.

Hongun is not very good, he's making a random run in this GSL but he's pretty weak if you have a single build that beats blink.

Inca is great at PvP, but beat his forge or DTs in vZ or vT and the game is over.

Alicia has not delivered on the hype. He's a solid Protoss in a region where most Protoss are anything but solid, but he's hardly a top shelf talent.

SKS is still a decent player, but even at his best he doesn't have the macro of MC or control and fluidity of Huk.

And Anypro. Please.

.

And yet Huk has no results to prove it. He scraped into Code S in the first place, lost both his group games in his first Code S then had his one good result in Korea -- beating MMA in his weakest matchup in the up/downs.

In the Super Tournament he beat San in PvP then lost in the round of 32 to Polt.

In this GSL he beat Alive and Tester, in a match where Tester misclicked at the key moment. MC then dumped him out in the Ro16, that Ro16 being his biggest achievement to date in Korea.

Huk is nothing but hype in Korea, he hasn't had one good run in any GSL tournament and has no big wins under him.

No one cares who you think is the best Protoss (even comparing MC to Huk is laughable), results are what matter. Huk has no results in Korea.

Hongun is not very good, he's making a random run in this GSL but he's pretty weak if you have a single build that beats blink.

And yet he's always been Code S and has consistantly done well and made the knockouts.

Inca is great at PvP, but beat his forge or DTs in vZ or vT and the game is over.

And yet Inca knocked out plenty Terran's in his GSL final run. He did lose to the Zerg, but that Zerg was Nestea. Coming 2nd in Code S is a far bigger achievement than anything Huk has done.

Alicia has not delivered on the hype. He's a solid Protoss in a region where most Protoss are anything but solid, but he's hardly a top shelf talent.

How has Huk delivered on the hype? By beating foreigners? When it really matters in the GSL Alicia has consistantly done better than Huk.

SKS is still a decent player, but even at his best he doesn't have the macro of MC or control and fluidity of Huk.

Tester has done better than Huk is basically every single GSL ever.

And Anypro. Please

So how many times has Huk made the Ro4 in a GSL? How about a Ro8?

If players like Hongun and Anypro were from anywhere in the world besides South Korea they'd be praised for their creative play and great results in the GSL.

Huk won Dreamhack and HSC3, I think those both count as pretty big wins.

In the foreign scene yes. But there's less than a handful of players at those tournament who are even Code A material, nevermind Code S.

ur the one whose showing some kinda blind bias here. coca showed great promise ever since he showed pretty solid play beating i think it was ST_Ace in Code A awhile back. I'm rooting for Moon to dominate in the near future! Also Leenock!

You keep saying that and yet you act like other people care what you think. This thread is solely opinions. He has his opinion, you have yours. HuK has tournament results with Koreans in them. Even the Koreans think he is good, there's no point to say that HuK doesn't even compare when it's obvious that he is a top level protoss player.

But again, that's my opinion right?

Surely agree with the guy who said Nerchio but I think he's just less known because he doesn't stream, I think streaming really helps get your name out there if it wasn't already from BW. Also I feel like HuK is probably my pick overall for most underrated, the guy is a fantastic player but for some reason he isn't talked about as much as he used to be. I think its because he wows everyone so often with GSL and other stuff that he's stable enough for people to kind of forget about in a way. Wish he streamed more while I'm online I think his streams the best out of everyone's as well and I don't even play protoss lol. (As I wrote that I looked over and he's streaming atm but yet I gotta go to bed, makes me QQ)

No. Just no.
He's not underrated, if anything he's OVER-rated. Personally I think it's justifiable. But even so. I wouldn't be so confident as to say Nestea is infinitely better than DRG and Losira. I mean Losira trains with NesTea, they're pretty close, just play different styles.

already posted in here, but i forgot about probably the most under rated player. Hasuobs. He's very good, and has showed some incredible play. I just think he needs a little fine tuning and perhaps a style that he finds very comfortable, and he will show some results.

he's not under rated, and he's not infinitely better than drg, or losira, but i think he definitely is better than both of them, and only plays a different style because it's better.

and in my personal opinion, i think that if he wanted to, he could play both of their styles better than them. He's a good enough player that he's looked into drgs style and decided that it has weaknesses... which i think we'll all see as DRG starts to gain more popularity.
