Cool news, I hope he crushes and makes all the irrational haters cry salty, salty tears. I'm not even a fan or anything, I'm just an anti-fan of internet stupidity.

Very cool to see, good pick up for fnatic. He's posted some decent results lately too, r8 in the LG special league and qualifying for NASL S2 already.

I'm not sure when you guys had this completely lined up by, but you must be pretty happy to see him make it into one of the bigger Western events to start with =)

I dont mean it that way, when i said cheap i meant teams should support non-korean talent instead cheap korean wins.

If ur gona have a non korean team vs a korean team where both teams r full of koreans, whats the point of that ? theres no excitement.

I don't even want to know what kind of a fucked up view on people and races you have to begin with if the only excitement you can get comes from teams divided by race and nationality.

You and a lot of others seems to be forgetting something when you talk in words like that -> Fnatic is a business. Do you think it would have mattered two shits if Rain was Chinese, Norwegian or Australian as long as he would bring whatever he brings (and that remains to be seen tbh..) to their table??
When you sign players of this caliber you often have one and/or two goals with it. Publicity and skill.

Why anyone ever would want to divide the scene into strictly korean teams vs foreigner teams is beyond me, it seems so extremely narrowminded.

oh wow,
am i speaking about fnatic business ? no, i could care less about their business, i only expressed my feelings as a fan of the sport.
did i said devide stricly into korean teams vs foreigner? no.

if u dont get my point then thats ur problem, but dont try to turn things around with shit i didnt say lol.
and about "fucked view on people and races" wtf are u talking about LOL

Apparently you watch Starcraft only to see some racist playoff between people from South Korea and people from anywhere else, that's really really sad. How about you just forget about whereever the guy playing popped out of his mother and just enjoy the game and good play?

I think you've misunderstood him. I think he's saying he would rather see these teams develop and invest in the foreign SC2 scene, because the Koreans have shown they are more than capable of developing and sustaining their own industry.

anyways, i've also got mixed feelings about this because we went down the same road in Warcraft 3, and that didn't end pretty. gl to Rain and Fnatic

Will he be flying out to MLGs and such then? If not, I still don't see a reason to forfeit Code S.

Congrats to both parties though!

Fun fact: Only two people have beaten NesTea in a Bo5 or higher series in a tournament. MVP (twice) and Rain.

Awesomeeee! Will he stay in Korea or will fly over to EU or NA?

If he wants to be more active in the foreign scene you can't be stationed in Korea

Why are more koreans leaving their own korean teams? Well, good for Fnatic to get another player
More tournaments, more participation, more fans.

People have been saying this for a while now, but while the Korean scene kinda stagnated over the last year (with GSL... and then not much else), the international scene has grown sooo much with huge new tournaments popping up left and right, it's not surprising that Korean players want to get involved, play in more tournaments and interact with the bigger community.

Hmm wow. I guess we knew it was going to happen, but didn't think I'd see him get picked up by Fnatic.

I'm not a huge fan (yet), mostly due to, well, I'm sure certain antics have been discussed to death already earlier in the thread, but I am of Fnatic, which doesn't seem like a team to pick someone up just to have their own Korean. And he's doing an IdrA (the kind where you move, not the kind where you leave, though I guess he's doing that too!), which is pretty big O_o

So let's give the guy a shot eh? Grats to all involved, hope to see great things from him in the future.
