Also - if that is the primary concern - I don't think having SC on TV will affect the influence and viewership of online shows. I personally won't watch SC on TV at all, only as online restream, which is just another stream, so no difference. That probably applies to most of the community. There won't be a loss of viewers, I think. Rather, new viewers may come, so it may actually help the current online streams. That's how I see it.

Yes, it's a specific type of game, and the way ads work will be arranged specially. The difference between Korea and rest of the world about Starcraft/e-sports is huge. So i don't see SC2 being in ESPN just like Broodwar (or other e-sport) is in OGN or MBC Game. But i kinda agree with the rest what you said though. But how epic is 2GD, with his own whiskey bottle and all..

FPS - believe it or not - seems to be more popular among girls than RTS. There are just more girls in FPS. Not sure if that's because FPS is more popular in the Western world, where girl gamers are promoted more than in Korea, but that's how it is.

The game length of Starcraft 2 fits perfectly fine to fit on a big sports network. the problem is you don't know how long sc2 will be. You won't have 6 minute games in soccer or you can have a 2 hour game (happened in bw pvp oddly enough)

I agree, what people don't seem to realize is that the viewer demographic of BW in Korea is 12-19 year old kids, and a ton of them being girls. It's simply not the same.

Keep in mind too, the popular personalities with the online shows are the first people that are going to end up on TV if it gets to that point. I mean it doesn't mean they wouldn't bring in TV personalities but you can't just put 3 random sports casters on stage and go, "Hey talk about SC2!" You'd have to have people like Wheat, Day9, tastosis, etc. to make it work, or at least be a part of whatever team they put on tv.

Also, Slasher: I know that playing the villain is something you do fairly well. It gets you a lot of flack and I know that over time it can start to wear on you. Don't ever take it personally. Continue to speak your opinions and acknowledge people generally hate your opinions because they simply hope you're wrong. Do what you do and great job since taking over as host.
