Here's my team Clan WeRRa (what too soon?) + Show Spoiler +Clan WeRRaMain Team5 Alicia + Show Spoiler +I'll be honest, after looking at my team you'll see that I'm clearly a SlayerS fanboy. And let's be honest Alicia convincingly beat MC in the GSL Super Tournament, who is 9 points as opposed to Alicia who costs 5 (not that Alicia is necessarily better, but he's ridiculously talented). 2 CoCa+ Show Spoiler +A lot of my picks were from SlayerS, so I wanted to pick more players who are from Group B. I figure that CoCa is a pretty good player (especially for his point cost); I mean he's Code S, has proven to be a talented Zerg, costs 2 points, and compared to the rest of his team he's one of the best players meaning that despite being a 2 point player, he probably has a better shot at getting played then some 3-5 point players on teams like oGs. Plus who else remembers him ripping apart Squirtle and Jinro in GSL May? (Poor Jinro ) 1 IMHappy+ Show Spoiler +One of the top players on the ladder, he's a starting player in the first week of games, and frankly he's on a really solid team. Anybody who practices with MVP, NesTea, and LosirA has to be a great player. Plus he's worth only 1 point. I feel like Happy and viOlet should both be players that everybody should pick up due to their great ability and super low point cost. 9 MMA (captain) + Show Spoiler +Pretty much the undisputed king of the last two GSTLs. Thought about taking DRG, but went with my favorite Korean player instead (second after ThorZaIN, but I didn't pick my main man T-ZaIN because his team isn't playing until August, so I figure I'll rearrange my team by then). Honestly all the players like MMA, MC, DRG, NesTea, MVP, Bomber, Polt, or MarineKing will do great in the GSTL, so I just decided to go with my personal favorite. 2 Qxc+ Show Spoiler +FXO is playing all their group stage matches (probably all their matches unless they miraculously make it into the playoffs) before August. I figure Qxc has a very high chance of getting played due to being a total baller (minus his NASL appearance, that was painful) and having read a description of what he put the recent crowd favorite DongRaeGu in the Code A Qualifiers I think that for a 2 point player he's a great choice. I figure that after FXO is done with the groups I'll try to trade him for SocceR, a player who I think might also get played a good amount and is cheap. 6 Ryung+ Show Spoiler +I love all the SlayerS Terrans if you hadn't picked up on that by now; if I could have a team with MMA, Ryung, BoxeR, and Ganzi that I really thought would do well I would. Ryung is probably one of the best TvTers in the world, and when you play in a league as Terran heavy as Korea that means you have a very high chance of both playing and winning. Players like aLive, TOP,, MarineKing, and Polt all are very good Terrans in Group A that may become targets of Ryung's remarkable TvT. That's not to say that TvT is his only match-up, though, as he made it to Ro8 in the Super Tournament going through InCa, viOlet, and JookTo, doing so very convincingly. Sure he's an investment just like MMA and making SlayerS my team, but the last two GSTLs speak for their credibility and in my opinion they're great choices. 3 SuperNoVa+ Show Spoiler +I was surprised to see him so cheap, but I figure there's a good chance of him getting played (despite oGs having the biggest roster ever....) and all his Match-Ups are super solid. Plus he's fairly cheap, so why not. 2 ViOlet+ Show Spoiler +I do not understand why viOlet is so cheap. He's honestly got to be one of the best Zergs in Korea right now, playing for a great team (as opposed to teams like fOu who have great players like sC but lack the full roster to do as well in the GSTL). He's the best 2 point choice you can possibly get right now, so not picking him up would be stupid. 6 SlayerS+ Show Spoiler +Anti Team5 GuineaPig5 Moon3 Sage+ Show Spoiler +Anti-Vote Explanations: Basically the reasoning behind these picks is that Moon isn't going to play until August, Sage's team is fairly unseen so we'll see if that turns out to hurt me, and GuineaPig is on MVP whom SlayerS is playing first round. I'm putting a lot on SlayerS, but they haven't really done anything less then win a lot in the past, let's just pray that first round they don't lose to MVP with GuineaPig 4-0ing them while they play Alicia, Ryung, and MMA. I figure later on I'm going to trade some players to get ThorZaIN (because while I'm a SlayerS fanboy, ThorZaIN is my favorite player (yeah I was one of the people who predicted him beating FruitDealer in TSL3 )

lol everyone should have IM as their team, its worth the 8 points. its an "incredible miracle" that they somehow avoided Slayers, OGS, MVP, and Prime. the only good team they going to go up against is ST.

Reposting my question from the announcement thread, since I'm still looking: Can you trade for players of equal value? If not, what would happen if some of your team stays at only 1pt throughout the GSTL, will they be stuck?

Dude Puzzle at 2 points???? GG bros he so gosu

Just when I thought Alicia rarely gets fielded, Cella decides to troll and send him out first - - Back to the drawing board.

+ Show Spoiler +Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them AllMain Team5 Alicia8 MarineKing8 NesTea (captain) 1 SocceR4 Squirtle2 Taeja2 TheStC2 ViOlet4 PrimeAnti Team3 Choya4 HongUn6 TricksterI went with tried and true players and avoided most up and coming players that haven't been around very long unless they were cheap. I just don't have any confidence that players like DongRaeGu, Bomber, and MMA are going to actually be sticking around for very long. Soccer is my wildcard; I can see him being totally useless or totally amazing, and he made it through code A quals, which counts for something. MKP is consistent, and it feels like he has the ability to throw people off their games really well. Nestea is just a good all around solid player good at all matchups and he costs 1 pt less than the other superstars. He's also exceptional at ZvP, and everyone is underestimating how imbalanced (zerg favored) this matchup is in the current meta-game/map pool. If anyone sends out protoss against nestea, I'm counting my fantasy points. I'm not sure if picking Squirtle was the right move, but I can see him being thrown out to snipe pvt; and god knows there's a fuckton of trendy terrans running around these days. I still remember his "refugee toss" pvt deathfest in February GSL. WHile amulet has long been gone, I can see him coming up and mastering a new pvt build and wrecking fools with it.Taeja and Violet were gambles, but pretty cheap ones. STC was underpriced, as lots of people have noted. I think Trickster used to be good at this game, but it seems like he's given up lately. Choya and Hongun have been around forever... and they've been bad and predictably opening 1 base stargate allin forever. Still they seem to be sent out for some awful reason.

Here's my team:
+ Show Spoiler +4Gate UnitedMain Team5 Alicia8 DongRaeGu (captain) 1 Hero1 IMHappy9 MC2 Qxc3 Seed3 Twilight4 MVPAnti Team3 Check4 Maka6 TricksterMain Team: Alicia: He is team Slayer's best protoss, and a powerful terran sniper. I daresay that his slump in round of 8 in the super tournament will motivate him to give his best DongRaeGu: that guy is a total monster. He plays unbelievably well and I actually picked him over Nestea, mainly because IM has like 3 aces, when DrG play for MVP only because he is the ace Hero: I believe he offers the best bang for buck, at 1 credit. He showed he was solid in the qualifiers, and for that price, not much to lose really IMHappy : Up and coming player for IM according to their coach, a team already known to have many dangerous players, even the unknown guys can pack quite a punch. Remember Seed and Losira at the first Gstl? and what not, i picked him for the same reasons I picked Hero, aside from that. MC: Do I need to explain? OgS losing? people look at MC to get the job done. Qxc: I believe creativity is a key factor when you play in a format like gstl. You play only once against each players, and playing an unorthodox style can test an opponents reading and reaction skills to the max. This is why QxC makes it in this list. Do I think he will all kill? probably not. But, with his weird style, he can steal games from unsuspecting players, and make his opponents uncomfortable. For the price, I'm buying. Seed : Talking about creativity, remember him in the first gstl? Tasteless wanted to see him play just so he could steal his builds and copy them on the ladder. On top of that, he has also shown solid play in those particular games. Twilight: Will be FxO's ace, and he will see play a lot of play. That guy has 2 accounts in the Korean top 25 ladder, there must be a reason why. He is underrated, and i believe he has what it is required to dominate lesser players. Team MVP is in the list because they offer the best bang for buck you can get for a team. I think they have a solid roster, as shown in last Gstl. Anti team Check: never really showed anything really. Maka: He seems like someone falling more and more down Trickster: After the beta, he never really was the same player. I like his play, but I just don't see him come back from where he is right now. Not after so many opportunities.

Yes, you can trade players of equal value. But this won't likely help you if you choose a 1-2 pointer and he performs poorly. You'll have to trade for equally obscure/poor players. If you choose a 1 pointer and he does nothing, you can trade him for another 1 pointer who does nothing. In other words, you're stuck with him.

rejiggered the team a bit to make it a bit more beginning-of-season-friendly (read: got rid of all the F. United players):
+ Show Spoiler [new team] +The Double Observatory BuildMain Team2 AceAs many people have said, 2 points for Ace is a pretty good bargain. 5 AliciaAlicia should be able to rip apart weaker teams with ease, and has a decent shot at getting sent out first, so might be able to snag an allkill or two! 1 CreatorReally impressed me when he nearly took out MVP. I think he'll get playtime, and at the very least he'll get wins. 4 MinMin is Min, easily one of the top zergs, and the best Z SlayerS has, so he'll get playtime. 4 NaDaoGs relies on NaDa and MC a lot, and NaDa's the budget buy of the two. He'll still bring home some bacon. 8 NesTea (captain) I can rely on NesTea to always play solid no matter what, so he's the guy I won't trade. 6 RyungNeeded at least one SlayerS Terran, he's the best deal IMO. Really really great players, TvT master. 2 YodaAs I recall, he usually got to play, plus he was pretty good. Don't really remember, but I was kinda casting around for a 2-point person anyway. 4 PrimeI was gonna pick FXO and try for more players, but then I realized once FXO was done playing I'd never be able to trade them away, so Prime. If they start sucking, I'll just ditch them for a better team, but they won't with MKP + Creator + Maka + the newly-amazing Polt as their lineup Anti Team5 Lyn5 Moon4 NaNiwaAll 3 don't play for 5 weeks, I have plenty of time to figure out who's sucking and trade them away.

I think Startale is the better value at 6 points. They get to beat up on the same weak teams as IM and last time they met in the finals in GSTL2 it went down to the Ace match. You're likely to get as many fantasy points choosing Startale and get a couple extra draft points to get better players.

NS Hoseo opens against fOu and FXO.
I'll be screwed if they lose those matches, but you gotta take a gamble sometimes. Prolly switching to F.United after week 5 anyway, so I'm not too concerned about the team slot.
I haven't seen ANYONE else pick NSH either lol. I like to take unique risks, roll the dice and try to leapfrog everyone.

nvm, re-read rules, redoing team lol

this better be the last time i change my lineup lol
+ Show Spoiler +DarknesssMain Team5 AliciaAlicia is an up and coming toss, probably best bang for buck if you want a protoss :D 1 BBoongBBoongidk about this guy, but seems to perform reasonably well in team matches. 5 GuineaPigGuinea is a random, so kinda valuable, and again, provides good results with teams 4 GuMihoGuMiho has same reasoning, ? on his indiv, but pretty good team record. 1 HeroOGS secondary toss to MC,so he'll see some playing time. 9 MMA (captain) MMA, what else is there to say lol 2 PuMalooking back at previous GSTLs, seems to always get some sort of playing time, has an ok record 1 SocceRseems like some people think highly of him, so plug him in and pray he does something i guess 8 Incredible Miraclethree headed monster with LosirA, Mvp, and NesTea. their weak schedule ensures a lot of points hopefully Anti Team3 Choyahes a coach (i think?) so he'll not see that much playing time 4 Makai considered putting FruitDealer here, but realized that if he starts playing well, he'll screw me over. Maka hasn't really performed, so hopefully, i'll be safe here. 6 Tricksterthis is probably the most risky one, but didn't see any worse players that were at least 6 points.
Thoughts would be appreciated :D

BitByBit's Bonjwas
Main Team 4 GuMiho GuMiho is solid, did well last season if I recall, and just made code A, so I think it's a good choice, you'd expect he will play quite regularly for fOu and get some wins. 1 IMHappy IMHappy seems to be a player talked up quite a bit, also just made code A, and could potentially get thrown in for some games for IM, knowing they have Nestea, Mvp and LosirA if need be. 4 Line I was originally going to have an all-terran team called Terranosaurus Rex, but apparently I needed one of each race, so went with Line. ZeNeX is fairly low on Star power, and I expect him to get quite a lot of game time for them coming off a successful super tournament run. 9 MVP (captain) What can I say? I'm an Mvp fanboy. Probably not the best selection, as he costs a lot, plays for a stacked team and has shown cracks lately even in his previously unstoppable TvT, but i have faith! 7 sC I'm a fan as well, plus he is the star player for team fOu,a team which is in the weaker of the two divisions, so hopefully he'll get some wins. 2 Taeja A very old player, who's only recently shown rapid improvement, I guess because he's joined team SlayerS! Seems like a good value pick, i'd expect him to get some games. 2 TheStC Picked from the heart again, I'm a big fan. Who knows if or how he will play, but I took a risk 3 Younghwa The PvP/team league specialist. Could see game time as a sniper or in various situations if required. 4 For Our Utopia I think the 3rd best team in what is a very weak division, potentially could upset StarTale as well. Pretty good value for 4 pts.
Anti Team 4 FruitDealer Whenever I see him play in the team league, he loses. 3 Sheth Decided to pick an FXO player, and I love qxc too much to pick him for an anti team!! 6 Trickster Heavily overrated player, and being worth 6 points, felt it was a good pick.

+ Show Spoiler +Pwny PonIII 20% CoolerMain TeamACE - Quite a good player for Only 2 pts. good Protoss BoxeR - ehhh idk about this choice he has been failing in GSLs ever since a good appearance in GSL2. is good in NASL though so idk. dont count this guy out. also 2 pts. might as well pay tribute to the emperor Cella - lol i don't think we will see Cella much but i picked him cuz he's Awesome, funny. also 1pt Jinro - our TL guy. gotta support him although he has been losing recently. also again cheap 1 pt MarineKing - Love him. tilts under pressure but IM too much of a MKP lover to care. NaDa - he's very consistent in all the GSLs so he should be good. also moderately priced at 4 pt NesTea - a nerd KiLLeR. enuff SaiD. he's too good. and sniff out any Cheese. he's sherlock ThorZaIN - TSL3 champ, i expect very good builds from him SlayerS - team of upsets. proven in GSTL2. clutch MMA or RyungAnti-team TesteR - oh god. he's been losing games left and right Leenock - too young, will fail to ]pressure Jjun - Terrible, Only saw him win vs mOOnGLaDe in awful games
