They are progamers, and entertainers.
I was entertained by their antics. Quite amusing, and everyone wins. MLG gets a lot more viewers streaming Idra, and Idra's sponsors get more airtime.

It's childish and unnecessary. When July, a living legend, can show sportsmanship, respect and humility in his interview comments after smashing Kiwi, it's just sad to see these kids (in comparison) that don't have a tenth of his accomplishments trying to look badass.
It's about dignity, class and self-respect (or lack thereof, in case of MC, Idra, Major and the rest of the "badass" crew). This is why you won't see somebody like Boxer or most true Starcraft legends behaving like that. They're not trying to look badass, they're trying to entertain the fans and succeeding. They're trying to look badass to entertain the crowd then, it makes no difference to my point whatsoever. It's still degrading for a progamer and competitor to act like an entertainer, especially out of the game, especially when it involves being obnoxious and disrespectful (regardless of whether the sentiment is real or not).

Everyone else. Do not be this guy. This is the definition of hurting the scene

MC used to do this all the time in brood war, I see no reason as to why he wouldn't do it now. I mean, who didn't laugh their asses off when he punched his opponents booth in GSTL, and proceeded to lose the game afterwards?
People complaining should just chill out for now. It's not like this is a physical sport; if you threaten someone in football or rugby, it's entirely in the realm of possibility that you can actually make those threats a reality, by injuring your opponent on purpose. That's probably not going to happen in esports. So I see no reason why we should worry about it.

Eh, saying he's hurting the scene is a bit far, people are entitled to their opinions and not everyone is going to agree on the same thing simply because of how they generally think people SHOULD act opposed to how they actually do.
MC and IdrA both act in their own ways and people either love it or hate it, personally I find some of their antics entertaining and other parts not so much.
At the end of the day they're both great players and while they have success and the spotlight remains on them they'll continue to do things like that and get reactions from the fans.

I lol at the idiots complaining about this. They are the same people who complain about everything and are the scourge of the sc2 scene.
Its rivalry, happens in all sports. Get over it.

There were already 100 pages of silliness yesterday... The future of Esports is at stake! Idra flipped someone off!

I don't think MC did anything disrespectful at all, he just made it clear that he was going to take out Idra if they faced each other again and it was playing up to the crowd. You could see this kind of thing all the time in BW from your "idols". Idras response could however be construed as disrespectful, but I guess it is just the same thing in typical western/Idra style and nothing was meant by it.
I should add: Anyone who can't see the fun in it and is actually bothered by this should really get a grip of their lifes.

back to the topic, MC didnt mean it really, or it was just his gesture to say: Imma pwn you. That's all. And we know Idra already, no need to comment on that

Never get what someone means by "hurting esports" but as far as MC goes I mean he's still young and is a kid so if I was a kid and being cheered I'd probably be ballsy as well, I doubt he's ever gotten a cheer like that except at GSL finals so its to be expected. I don't think giving someone the finger hurts anything either and if someone brought there kid there and that "hurt" them in some way I'd be amazed since average television contains far worse things every second. I personally don't like the arrogance from MC and I would have flipped him off too lol.

Love the drama between these 2 players! Mlg becoming like the gsl of the west, which is a pretty good thing

They should probably watch WWE or something...
This is one of the many reasons SC2 scene, has a long way to go, if it wants to reach BW.

OK seriously? I don't like progamers that play their games, go out and bow and then sit down and shut up until they're on again. I wan't some personality, someone to love, someone to hate. I want the games between rivals to be personal. As far as I'm concerned, this exchange between MC and Idra only made e-sports more interesting.
