Simply because FXO is a Forex Trading company, can be compared to South Korea Telecomm sponsoring a SC1 team named SKT1 or SamsungKhan(Khan means family if im right) this is pure business. And for Razer to sponsor multiple players/teams it means they, in some ways, gain a monopoly of "image Marketing" by putting multiple teams under sponsorship contracts, they get a HUGE moving/TV advertisement, all that for peanuts. lets say they decide to sponsor all the GSTL teams... Logitech wouldnt get a chance for advertisement, or any other mouse company, and with the number of kids watching NesTea play OMG MOM I WANT THIS MOUSE PLZ PLZ PLZ effect is bringing dollars to them, a TV ad spot is worth hundred of thousands... the Keyboard and mouse that you pay around 80-115USD$ for are actually worth 10-15 at the most. the cost is packaging, shipping, going from a company, to a wholeseller then a retail store... everyone "eats" on it. Razer throws Keyborads and mouse to 10 teams (lets estimate the cost at 30$ for a set KB + mouse) 10 players per team (300$) multiplied by 10 teams (3000$) a TV ad during primetime on FOX for 30 seconds is about 95000USD$ if you were the Razer CEO... what would you do. dont even need to tell me, yeah, guys here are keyboards mice etc. now walk around 3 days at every LAN events with a Razer logo on your Team's shirt/jacket and have 1500+ angry moms at you for their kids asking a brand new Razer mouse. ThermalTake e-Sports hs also announced new sponsorships recently. I enjoy seeing these 2 companies getting involved in teh scene, bringing players what THEY need since traveling lodging etc is very expensive, and I speak of experience. The more a pro-team can save on, the more players will be able to travel more and attend more events, and make e-sports more of a worldwide thing over a korean centralization (eg: games on cable TV (hey there FOX, ABC... dare you guys to start negociating with MLG for broadcasts) and more than just 4 MLG events a year in america. hey. Canada could host a MLG Vancouver and a MLG Toronto maybe ? hell even montreal has ideal places for this, and MLG has a growing number of canadians im thinking quickly of HuK(ON), KiWi(QC), Slush(QC) desRow(QC) coL.Stalife(BC) and more, why not ? CEO's please sit together look at whats in front of you all now. make it happen, like in Korea. Bigger than Korea. Airline companies, Banks, Telecomms etc. The scene needs your help. This is one great marketing investment for all of you. do it. If your're still reading the post at that point, i conclude you really love the scene and care about e-sports. As fans we need to keep supporting our favorite teams and players and cheer for them as hard as your old man cheers when watching hockey footbal bball or w/e sport from his "generation" (giggles) Thanks for reading me, and please dont mind typos, i didnt revised myself, and im dead tired coming back from a funeral | ||
