When a man looks at a woman, the first natural impulse is to judge their attractiveness. It doesn't matter what you do and how you look. It doesn't matter what clothing, what age, what boobs, or what's written on them. People go out of their way to dress to style, put on makeup, and make sure they are in general attractive. Naturally, all human beings, regardless of sex, want to appear attractive, and as a result become "sex symbols." Some people go about this in different ways. Of course her actions were bound to start up some interesting discussions. It takes a certain person to actually do something like this in public, and I commend her for it. She is not afraid of who she is, and that is great. These types of stories help the spread of eSports, even in the most superficial of ways. Any publicity is good publicity. this is bound to show up on a number of popular communities with gaming inclinations. If you truly want to be outraged by perceptions of women in the world, take a look at the situation in UAE. Women basically have zero rights. Realize that you are very fortunate to be apart of the western society where you wouldn't be sentenced to death for doing something like this. Well said. No full picture, or maybe a picture of her head, by the way?

You seem like you would want to come out as a equal rights & shit dude but you only come out as an oppressor, defining what is right or wrong for a person to do. I'm just saying, as a girl gamer, I don't want all girl gamers to be portrayed as sex symbols. Just becuase you see 1 whore getting her tits signed at MLG doesn't mean that all us men are going to think less of women...or women gamers for that matter. This happens in every sport in the world i bet, i don't see why you think that being a female gamer means that you have some special right to be treated diffrently. And im sure the memory of getting her breasts signed would last her a lot longer then some piece of paper wow great. Now she has a nice story to tell. "i hope idra stops raging, because other people will think that all pro gamers rage" See how fucking silly that sounds? Just think, if one whore getting her tits signed makes you so uneasy about female gamers .. Are you sure the internet is the right place for you? You're getting a little too angry about this. Sorry, I wasn't involved in Brood War, so I'm sure there are much more degrading things that have happened. Like I said, I can't win an argument with an almost all male population so I don't want to go any further. I was just more dissatisfied with the posts then the girl. If you don't see my feelings towards it then don't comment about them.
You can't "win the argument" because what you have presented is completely baseless. I hope you get INFURIATED when you see events like mlg, iem, etc. with the strategically placed attractive girls that are paid to be there to be drooled over.
I bet you don't, though.

Just think, if one whore getting her tits signed makes you so uneasy about female gamers .. Are you sure the internet is the right place for you? Your counterexample is actually a great example of how people, even or especially on the internet, don't give a damn about how silly their arguments or opinions sound when faced with logic. So much discussion pops up about professionalism and manners and esports over the smallest happenings, and none of them really would be justified if people thought rationally. Unfortunately for us all, we don't. Some intellectually lazy fellow out there will invariably look at one salient member of a population and use that to build upon his personal stereotype of that population.
So while I agree that no one in his right mind should take an instance of a specific girl acting in a specific way and conflate that with intrinsic female tendencies, I don't agree that because it makes no sense, no one does it.

Not 5 digit USD prize money, not sponsorships from big corporations, not a hundred thousand people watching a tournament live. Nope, it's when chicks dig progamers. That's when you know SC2 is here to stay. SC2 is still so far behind BW in this regard I wish the GOM studio was constantly filled with screaming fan girls like it is for starleague.
True that. So far the only time I can ever recall an SC2 progamer getting multiple fangirl chants was oGsTOP in last season's GSL (i think). I would have hoped that someone cute like MKP would have developed a following by now. Probably won't happen until SC2 is shown on national tv in Korea.

Should we not feed fat people hamburgers because skinny people will think they're gluttons?

I said I wouldn't post again, but I just want final thoughts.
1) I started this because I saw a post saying "gotta love girl gamers". It offended me as a girl gamer. Can anyone understand that? 2) I don't care about this girl whatsoever. She can do what she wants to do. 3) I admit what I said has flaws. I was just speaking my feelings, not trying to make an argument (like I said 5 times) 4) This has taught me that I will no longer say anything about women on team liquid
Now please, lets drop all this?
