He flew to the usa and is paying all the cost associated with it without a sponsor if this is true. What would be even more weird is if EG flew him out and payed for him and then dumped him after they got him there before he even competes. And the timing of this would be such a shitty move by EG. Can you imagine the pressure and the overall effects on your mentality this would have literally a day before a huge tournament, Grubbys biggest in sc2 thus far. The statement got to TL on prank day(can't write the date for some reasone) which is very poorly thought out by EG or just in very bad taste if the wanted to use the date to somehow dampen bad pr. Besides all that Grubby is effectively a living legend in the rts genre. He has a ridiculous amount of fans and EG decides to dump him? The EG sc2 squad isn't really that strong. There's idra who's one of the worlds best but not doing to good and an injured deMuslim. The rest hasn't really accomplished much except semi-deep finishes in a MLG or two, which back then was like a 6k lan. But yeah I wonder why people think this is a joke  | ||

Both not really true, or at least unconfirmed regarding the second part. Add to that it's not in the slightest bit funny as well as people knowing him having confirmed it in the thread and you have to ask yourself why people don't think this is a joke. If it turns out to be a prank it would just be lame by all parties involved unless they somehow turn it into a huge announcement of something else. | ||
