This is a translation of the Korean interview on PlayXP which means it is a translation of a translation. (He was translated by the koreans). So there may be something "lost in translation" as to say...
![[image loading]](http://imgur.com/Dy1Cp.jpg)
- Among the foreign players you are the first to get to the round of 8. What are your thoughts? o I am extremely happy. I am feeling good because I beat Nestea who is considered the best in ZvZ. I studied Nestea’s builds and practiced only builds that would counter him for today.
- Did you study up on his (Nestea’s) strategy even more after your loss in the team battle? o Yes. Especially because I lost on Terminus RE I practiced extra for the 3rd set. I had planned to be aggressive with zerglings in the beginning and get ahead economically then go into hydralisks.
- When you were matched up against Nestea what were your thoughts? o When I found out that it was ZvZ, I thought it was possible. I would say I am one of the top 3 Zergs in Europe so I thought it was definitely possible.
- You could have won yesterday’s Team match. Are you disappointed in not getting the win? o I am disappointed. If I were to judge each game in detail, in the game against JulyZerg I was able to scout him and I was able to defend his attack easily. In the first match against MVP on Taldarim Altar, it got disconnected in the middle. In my opinion MVP could have been given the win. In the game against Nestea, he played much better than me so he won. If I were to give an excuse, it was my first time playing ZvZ on that map. I thought he would rush mutalisks so I was too focused on hydralisks and got caught.
- What do you think about the matches tomorrow? o Although today the foreigners lost, Huk against MVP was 2:1 and White-Ra vs San was also 2:1. I think the score says it’s definitely possible. I hope more foreigners will get to the round of 8 tomorrow. Also, Sen has experience beating Marinekingprime already so I think he can get good results.
- Any goals you set before coming to the World Championship? o My first goal was to beat a famous Korean player. Since I beat Nestea today, I have already achieved that goal. In the round of 8, I am facing San, my worst matchup is ZvP but I will practice extra hard.
- Do you have any plans to be in the GSL? o I have thought about this a lot. But, I am reluctant to leave my girlfriend and family for 1 year. Also, there are many tournaments in Europe. So I think being active in the European SC2 community is better for me.
- Do you have anything to say to Korean Fans (in general)? o It is my honor to play in such a big tournament in Korea. I am thankful for all the fans who support and cheer me on.
- Anything else? o I would like to thank my team mTw for their support. Also to all those in the Russian SC2 community and the other foreign SC2 communities, thank you. I hope everyone stays healthy.
+ Show Spoiler +▼

Thanks for the interview, kinda sad he won't even try to qualify for gsl though
|
Wow you're on a roll today phosgene. keep em coming, and good work
|
Why would you put the spoiler in the thread, and not in the title. Obviously they interview the winners from the games, thats GOM's style. You just spoiled 2 matches with these posts......
|
yeah you should change it to "interview: winner of..."
thanks a lot though !!
|
Yeah thanks for the spoiler buddy. Make a GSL WC Ro16 Interviews thread and put them all there obviously...
|
thanks for the translation but the game was spoiled haha not a big deal i guess i had it comingn from coming here but usually these interview are posted in the TOURNAMENT section. and adding spoiler in the thread doesnt help at all. u need to say interview of winner of R16 or whatever

Wow, Dimaga so humble, admitting that MVP was ahead in the disconnect game.

Yeah sorry for those who feel that the game were spoiled. Maybe I will do the interview thread as suggested next time around.

Even if you write "[SPOILER] Dimaga interview after GSL WC round of 16" it wouldn't matter because you still know that only the winners are getting interviewed. >.>
Anyways, not gonna derail this thread with un-related discussions. DIMAGA is very skilled in my opinion and could very well compete in the GSL but I am fine with him staying in Europe, even though it makes it harder for us "normal" people to win small tournaments when he occupies a slot in each and one of them xD
|
This is the look of a professional. The Koreans practiced for this but (some of) the players in the World Team studied, games, builds, styles of their opponents. It's pretty much a safe bet when you see a build of your opponent that you have an idea how he's gonna follow up on it and it falls onto not making mistakes.
A lot of players should take some lessons here and it is also the reason why I disagree with the idea of hiding replays. It's a measure of a player's skill, understanding what his opponent is most likely to do, learning. Pretty much every sport has this, watching videos of their next opponent to snipe styles.

Thanks for translating the interview! It's people who do stuff like this for the community that makes TL so awesome.
I hope Dimaga makes it far into the tournament so we can see more of his zerg.
|
wish he gets into nasl
|
Thanks! Dimaga seems like a really nice and enthousiastic guy.
|
Dimaga is a fucking boss.
|
Dude, his games were baller. That 3rd game on terminus re was really impressive. A must watch if you guys havent.
|
Thanks for translating hosgene!
Dimaga is a total baller. Would love to see him in the GSL, but I respect/understand his decision.
|
Good interview, thanks for the translation.
I have no idea why people wanting to avoid spoilers are reading TL though.

So manner. Dimaga rocks, kind of sucks (but understandable) neither him nor White-Ra (last I heard anyways) are going to give GSL a serious shot, but glad GOM gave them a chance to play on that end of things through this at least. He deserves getting some recognition over there as well. Plus it's just cool to see of course. I hope he manages to pull out the win vs san.
|
Gotta admit, before this whole event I was no where near a Dimaga fan. But fuck that, now I am.
|
I hope his "Top 3 Zerg EU"-announcement wont be looked back at in the same way as Huks "Top 3 Control World".
Anyway, thanks for the interview and goodluck to Dimaga in Ro8.
|
Dimaga is such a baller! And his ear to ear smile! Just love it!
|
GSL just isn't viable for most people from NA/EU because it is so hard to get into Code S, and not really worth it for Code A. I really wish they would drop Code A completely and just make the GSL a 64-player tournament, with an open tournament for rights to fight in the up-and-down matches.
|
Go Dimaga! I am happy to see him doing well so far!

So much for European zergs being bad at zvz

Dimaga is my favorite zerg by far! so gosu

On March 31 2011 06:40 Liquid`Tyler wrote: So much for European zergs being bad at zvz That's the first I've heard of that. I know Morrow got some flak after losing the Assembly finals, but that's hardly enough to judge all EU ZvZ. First two games were build order losses because the KR metagame was ahead of EU, but that doesn't say much about the overall understanding of the matchup IMO.

On March 31 2011 06:40 Liquid`Tyler wrote: So much for European zergs being bad at zvz My thoughts exactly. It's really great when foreigners can compete with koreans. If we can keep this up sc2 can truelly become global with many global leagues and koreans travelling abroad.

Thanks for the translation of the translation :-) I'm so glad to see Dimaga winning against so many pros

Lol, look at his win/lost ratio dude http://www.sc2ranks.com/eu/174572/mTwDIMAGA Can't refuse the fact that this guy has been keeping this for so long already

Dimaga's achievements in this tournament are stellar and the best among foreigners so far, defeating JulyZerg, beating Nestea, and taking a game off of MVP. Granted, it was mostly ZvZs, but even so, great results and probably the biggest boost for him since Beta.
|
DIMAGA you are a true Hero!! good luck for the rest of the tourney!!
Edit: Wheres Nestea interview???

Unfreaking believable! I can't wait to watch this when I get home.

Edit: Wheres Nestea interview??? This is a winners interview with the winner of nestea vs dimaga. It only says nestea/dimaga in the title to avoid unintentional spoilers (originally it only mentioned dimaga which was a spoiler as people knew only the winner gets an interview).

He is such a nice guy! And such a beast! damn!
Best of luck Dimaga!
|
Always loved dimaga, awesome playstyle and entertaining games! Thanks for the (double, i suppose) translation. Much appreciated as allways.
|
Thanks for the interview.
Dimaga seems to be such a nice guy... His series against Nestea were amazing...wow. I'm pretty impressed by his performance in this GSL WC. If he keeps playing like that, he could do something important in this champ.
Go Dimaga!
|
I'm coming to be a big fan of Dimaga, he seems so expressive and good at the game and yet still comes off as very good mannered and polite. I'm glad he acknowledges that MvP was ahead in the disconnect game, because there's been a lot of blind excitement that "He basically 2-0'ed MvP" when in reality, he was rather far behind after the battle where his supply dropped to 100 from 200 and had a real hard time driving it back up while MvP sat on a trust fund and made a Maginot Line in the middle. Though to say MvP could have been awarded a win, that is going even farther than I believed the game to be.
Did anyone else notice after the match when he pointed towards Nestea's booth and made a heart? Now that's manner, that's like a super crazy energetic version of Boxer going to a player's booth and personally telling them gg every time he plays.
Hope for the San interview is up and coming, its always interesting to know what they guy is thinking considering his funny past. Thanks for translating all this stuff for the community.

Also, how will you determine the 64players? there still needs to be tournament to get your spot.

I'm so excited that Dimaga won! I always believed in him!
|
I love his celebration in game 3 haha
|
Great interview, I was so happy to see NesTea's first ZvZ loss on korean tv come to a solid zerg like dimaga, he played great and deserves more success! Dimaga fighting!
|
Takes balls to admit MVP should have been awarded the win in the disconnect game
|
worst moment 'I love my girlfriend' HORRIBLE HORRIBLE.
|
Dimaga is such a beast. Even though he feels ZvP is his worst matchup I'm still not convinced San can win now that Khaydarin amulet is gone. Of the Korean protosses in this tournament he seemed to be the one who uses psi storm the most so we'll see if he can come up with something else against Dimaga.

No there doesn't. 32 players from Code S + 32 players from Code A = 64 players in GSL.

Top 3 Zerg? More like the top zerg in EU. It goes Dimaga, Ret, Morrow.

After today, more like best player outside of Korea. What other foreign player has such a significant win over such a significant player. Not in a best of 1... but best of 3... plus what Dimaga did to MVP/July the day before.
Case closed.... until someone does something bigger... Dimaga is the best foreigner.
WhiteRa beat MC, but in only 1 game.... then lost to San. Idra beat MVP 1 game, and Nada 1 game... but nothing as big as this. Jinro's beating of MC comes closest.... but that was months ago :D

Dimagas always been way ahead of the curve in ZvZ. Don't think its fair to just generalize him like that.

Dimaga's good, but Jinro is probably better when he's on form. Let's see Dimaga do something like get to the semifinals twice in the GSL before we suddenly call him the best player outside of Korea just because he beat Nestea in a Bo3 and beat MVP in a Bo1 after a fortunate disconnect and beat July after July already played 4 games.

Haha, good point. I wasn't really thinking carefully when I wrote that. Either way, I think it's a bit presumptive to give anyone the title of "best player outside of Korea" based off of just what the guy I was replying to cited.

Damn it, if Dimaga is going to keep telling me to be healthy then I guess I gotta do it.
Great interview! His games were amazing. Especially the second game.
Good luck to Dimaga in the future rounds.
|
I couldn't help but read the whole post in White-Ra's accent...sorry Dima.
|
I hope things become better for Dimaga.
It's time to move beyond his failed NASL application and his ugly mark in TSL2 to acknowledge the new Beast, he whom in him runs the blood of zerg.
I also loves how happy he always looks. His large frame + awkward happy smiles make him look fun.
I feel so tempted to say some jokes on C*******yl here, but that would be incredibly insensitive.

go dimaga, the man who led zerg creativity with baneling usage early in beta is back to be the best foriegn zerg, wait, best zerg

Stay healthy

there was a nice game few weeks ago (Dima was fp-streaming this game at sc2tv.ru) Dimaga vs Mana, i guess on BDL but not sure. Dima was way ahead and happy that he won, he said: okay , we totally ownd this protoss, lets just press attack move , cuz mana has no army at all. He was playing ultralisks+infestors in this game, but mana did some magic, and beated his army. dimaga went nuts and started swearing on live-stream "ultralisk if fcking sh1t , protoss are imba f f f f" and vented anger on his keyboard. So, guys, someday u'll see what happens if he looses a game. lol xDD its much worse than jinro did today after loosing to anypro.
anyways, thats why everyone love dimaga: he's not afraid to show his emotions, i truly hope he will win this tournament. Your fans are always with u, Dima. GOGO MUSCLE ZERG!!!
sorry for bad english.
