The most recent official SOTG got me thinking: if Liquid'Tyler wasieleski can criticize oGsMC without having won a GSL, then obviously it's acceptable -- nay, necessary -- to have a gap in skill in order to discuss matters. This led me to believe that the actual SOTG is somewhat suboptimal in its selection of hosts and guests. As an alternative, I present the following:

I admit he can't really judge MC for different reasons , but he is high lvl enough to know what he's talking about and maybe the decisions MC made in that match he was analyzing weren't the best ones. I didn't see that certain SOTG so correct me if i'm out of context.

Btw - I think it's awesome if lower level players (I am lower level myself) want to do something to contribute to the community, but your logic and reasoning above is greatly flawed because of your lack of understanding of how high-level players understand and analyze the game.

Also, for people out there, if you don't understand what Tyler was talking about and his arguments about MC (don't need to agree but understand the arguments), you don't know enough of this game and you should either think more about it or forget it.
Another thing. The arguments stand or do not stand by themselves. The arguments are either good or bad by themselves. How good is the one making them is irrelevant.

I like the idea of anyone starting any podcast, but your logic for doing so makes no sense. Yes, Tyler can criticize whoever he wants as can you or anyone else. But if people will tune in to listen is a different story.
The reason people listen to Tyler is the same reason why you're so upset. It's not the platform that he's speaking from, it's his background as a player. So yes, it's acceptable, but no, it's not necessary.
People will tune into your podcast if you have a good podcast and not because of your gap in skill. And in reality, you're starting this podcast with a gap in logic more than a gap in skill. It sounds like you're off to a bad start. If you're serious about this, I would re-think why you want to do any of this at all because if you do it for the wrong reasons, no one's going to tune in.

I actually enjoyed the show. If you guys want to lighten it up a bit though while keeping a nice following, instead of trying for gimmicky schtick humor, some serious humor might work better for a show like this. Make it a weekly show and you have yourself a dedicated follower here.

This reminded me of the those cheap Chinese knockoffs. That are almost like the actual thing but not quite. Then I actually listened to the show and its pretty good. This is the first show so the low production value is excusable. It would be better if you changed the name of the show, dropped the trollish thing in the fist post and you got a pretty good show.

You do not need to be at the same skill level as someone to critique them, but that doesn't mean you don't need to be knowledgeable on the subject. The idea is not bad, perhaps the inspiration is somewhat strange. I hope the show will give some low level players a voice, and that the cast is so entertaining that the listeners will enjoy it.
Will give it a try after 2-3 episodes, so the jinx can bi ironed out before. Just don't get to caught up in doing a copy of state of the game, make this your own.

Seems like the stream is slow and i have to buffer sometimes, maybe its my connections fault but anyway, mp3 file is always better and because you don't have it on itunes an mp3 file would be awesome!

They criticize everybody, every episode, but at least its somewhat justified or they're kidding around. The Gap between you and Tyler is much bigger than the Gap between Tyler and MC mainly because Tyler knows what the fuck he's talking about but is missing a bit of practice while you no knowledge of the game. If you did you could execute basic strategies and get to at least platinum very easily. Go away.

Hey guys, I gave the podcast a short listen and thought I share some criticism. The reason SotG works so well is that it is both entertaining and informative - the thing I heard here was neither. I sort of stopped listening when you were discussing 1.3 patch changes and couldn't understand the reasoning behind the removal of the viking flowers. The issues of the patch have been discussed in detail in the community since the ptr went online and the fact you didn't even know what the crux of the issue is shows that you came into this completely unprepared.
You can't force an entertaining podcast, it really depends on the hosts but you can make sure that you have something relevant to say... On that front I would recommend you look up to chobopeon who is consistently doing a great job on SC center.
Finally, your 'reason' for starting this podcast is really misguided and does not give you any credibility at all - trying to rub off of the popularity of SotG with silly negative references will not get you many friends. You should try and forge an identity of your own for the show if you plan to continue with it.

I think for the extreme bm of the op post alone not to mention trollish style of it...this thread should be locked. You want to start a podcast regardless of your level sure go for it I might check it out...but taking a known podcast's banner using ms paint to scratch the G out and put an L...this is just bad manner to an extreme extent.

Yeah it confuses me too that someone who types in crap like "what the fuck" as their entire post is ignored yet someone who writes twice as many words with more content but has a meme inside gets warned. Similarly if you respond to a completely shitty and worthless OP with no content with a funny picture or something like "cool story bro" you get warned, but you can respond with similar amounts of lackluster content and not get warned as long as there is no meme. Confuses the shit out of me especially since years of interwebz has turned me into a meme generator and it's difficult to break old habits, lol.
Also OT, you should get rid of the Brit. Not only does he sound british but he's Toss and everyone else is Terran. Learn from SOTG, racial diversity is bad and to be avoided.

I didn't read every comment on this thread nor listen to the first show, so someone might have said this already. But 80% of players are in Bronze-Gold. As long as these guys don't make a joke out of it and occasionally talk about their current play in the depths of ladder, it could be beneficial to lower seeded players.
