I was going to unleash the Demon Hunter on the Necromancer of this thread, but then I saw it was the developer of the site reporting his updates like a very generous fellow and I became

The number of downloads is shown for every replay in the search results (the eye icon on the right side).. like here, but not currently on the actual replay page (ie. http://drop.sc/39214). Would you like to see the downloads on the replay page as well?

Anonymous commenting was enabled with the old user system. Bots started to become a problem, so I had to remove that.

Guys, I really could use some help. The servers, on which drop.sc runs, cost around 45$/mo and the ads generate only about 10-15$/mo. I've been paying everything out of my own pocket, but unfortunately I cannot support drop.sc forever.

I've received 0 donations and 1 registered pro account (huge thanks to him!) over the life of the website, which is now 8 months old.

Do you guys have any ideas on how to improve the situation? What would be something that you'd be willing to pay for? Or maybe there are some other ways to generate some income? Any help is appreciated, I'm kind of desperate here!

I wouldn't mind more advertisements either.

Do people on other forums know about drop.sc?

Yeah drop.sc is the best replay sharing site. I seriously wouldn't mind a few commercials here and there just to keep the site alive. And as roxy said, encourage people to donate.

Also i've noticed not much peolpe know about drop.sc. Spread the word more!

You could ask some Webhosters if any of them would sponsor a hosting package in exchange for being mentioned on the site. The requirements for Space and Traffic shouldn't be too high I guess?

Alternatively: Do you really require a full blown server to host the site? Maybe a simple webhosting package for 10$ could handle it aswell?

Yeah, will definitely make that more visible.

Not sure about the situation on other forums. I've made couple of post on Reddit, but they didn't get much attention. I'll give the Blizzard forums a shot, thanks for the tip!

I've already migrated the servers once (from Amazon EC2 to Linode) because the supposedly cheap Amazon couldn't handle the load ( http://drop.sc/news/9 ).
