Sup TL Introducing some new faces, some you may be seeing around for a long time. The list will be updated so keep checking back ;P
SlayerS_CchapSeungEu + Show Spoiler + Q. How does it feel to qualify for Code A?A. I played 4 straight TvT's. I think I played rather comfortably. Q. Are you usually confident against Terrans?A. It's similar for all three races, but it was comfortable since I didn't have to adjust to a different race. Q. Were there any difficult opponents?A. The match against ZeNEXTaeja was 44 minutes long and went to an elimination race. Q. You're in the same team as SlayerS_BoxeR, what are some of the things he helped you with?A. I think he's very detailed about his life and gaming. I was able to practice systemically. Q. Did you know him before?A. I was with him in T1. He was glad to accept me when I said I wanted to play StarCraft 2. Q. Are there any players you want to avoid? [T/N:original question is out of context...i assume this is what the question was] A. I lost to oGsZenio in the third open season qualifications. I was lacking then since I only had a month of practice at the time. Q. Are there any players you want to play against?A. I want to face ZeNEXExcrement. I think he's the best Terran player and I've lost to him in the Zotac Cup as a part of his all-kill. I want to face him fair and square. Q. What is your goal this season?A. My goal is to advance to Code S and aim to take the championship from there. Q. Any comments?A. Ga-Yun hasn't been healthy while taking care of the team house recently. I hope she gets better soon. The team atmosphere and living conditions are very good as Coach Sung Sang-Hoon and SlayerS_BoxeR provided me a place to play games without worrying about anything else. I want to thank them. Source: http://www.playxp.com/esports/read.php?news_id=2583551 SlayerS_Alicia + Show Spoiler + Q. How does it feel to qualify for Code A?A. I'm very happy. There were many players from SlayerS in the same group, but I'm glad that I got to advance without running into any of them. Q. What was the most difficult match?A. I went 7 warpgates on Metalopolis in the final match against Hyor, but he had a lot of ghosts. There was a dangerous moment when my sentries were hit by EMP's. Q. What are the advantages of staying with SlayerS_BoxeR?A. He is a very humorous person (laughs). He gives me a lot of advices on the things I have trouble with. Q. Were you confident that you would advance?A. No. This is my 4th time trying, and I thought it would be more difficult due to the cut-line. I think I got lucky with the brackets. Q. Who do you want to face in the main event?A. I don't want to play anyone specifically. I'm still numb from the fact that I qualified. Q. What is your goal?A. I want to advance to Code S. Q. Any comments?A. I think I was able to do well since Ga-Yun supported me tremendously. I want to thank her. I also want to thank the sponsors of SlayerS. Source: http://www.playxp.com/esports/read.php?news_id=2583609 ST_Ace + Show Spoiler + Q. How does it feel to qualify for Code A?A. When I lost in the previous qualification matches, it felt like I didn't belong in the place. I practiced afterwards thinking that I would surely advance again. Q. What was the most difficult match?A. I don't think my side of the brackets was very good. The first game was risky as my hands weren't warmed up and my next opponents were no slouches either. Q. It looked like your teammates had an effect on you.A. ST_July teases me by saying 'You can't make it' (laughs). I think I need to move on and knock him out of the tournament. Q. Do you have any goals?A. It feels like I lost the previous Code A games when I was an inch away from winning. I'm trying to not make the same mistakes, so I hope everyone keeps an eye out for me. Q. Are there any players you want to face in the main event?A. I want to play ST_July (laughs). I also want to get revenge on oGsTOP. Q. Any comments?A. I think appropriate mental preparations have helped me get through today. I hope the rest of the team can pick up good results as well. Source: http://www.playxp.com/esports/read.php?news_id=2583622 ST_Curious + Show Spoiler + Q. How does it feel to qualify for Code A?A. I've never done an interview before. It feels awkward. I didn't think that I would advance. Q. How many times have you tried to qualify?A. This is my second time after trying in the third open season. I don't think I practiced enough last time. Q. Were there any dangerous moments?A. Every game was challenging. The first match was a 2:0, but the rest of the matches ended up being 2:1 victories. The match against SlayerS_Ryung was especially dangerous. Q. Who do you want to face in the main event?A. This is my first time, so I don't have any special requests for opponents. Q. If you had to reveal your goals, what would they be?A. My ultimate goal would be to win, but I think my priority should be to get Code S. Q. What do you have problems with during practice?A. I was worried that ZvP's in practice haven't gone my way recently. I was able to get good results today since I didn't play any Protoss players, but I will try even harder and play good games in the future. Q. Any comments?A. I want to thank the teammates and my parents. I hope other teammates can do well in later groups. Source: http://www.playxp.com/esports/read.php?news_id=2583631 NEXCoCa + Show Spoiler + Q. How does it feel to qualify for Code A?A. I don't have a computer at home, so I've been practicing strictly in the PC Bangs. I want to practice more in the team house, but my parents did not allow me to do so. Now that I advanced, I'm going to try to get permission. Q. Were there any difficult matches?A. Other than the first match, I started off with a loss in the first set. I think all the matches were difficult. Q. Do you want to play against a particular player?A. This is my first tournament, so I don't know yet. Q. What is your goal?A. I want to win in Code A, be a good son to my parents and get recognized. Q. What is your most confident match-up?A. I'm confident against Zergs and Protosses. Q. What style do you usually play?A. I'm pretty standard. I like to play management games and make sudden attacks. Q. What are your weaknesses?A. If the game goes on for a long time, I tend to lose focus. Q. Any comments?A. I want to practice more systemically in the team house. Source: http://www.playxp.com/esports/read.php?news_id=2583642 IMLosirA + Show Spoiler + Q. How does it feel to qualify for Code A?A. I'm very excited to advance. Q. You said that your matches were tough.A. I generally don't like playing against Protoss. There are many skilled Protosses I practice with, and I had to play against a player I consider very difficult in the first round. I had to play NEXPuzzle, whom I lost to in the Zotac Cup, in the second match, and ran into a teammate IMYoda in the last match. I must have been really lucky to move through. Q. Do you learn a lot from your teammates?A. There are things we learn together, but there are also challenges we share together. I was jealous yesterday watching a teammate win. I had the desire to practice hard and win myself. Q. What is your goal?A. I want to win in Code A and advance to Code S. Q. Do you think it's advantageous that the Code A winner gets to pick his own group?A. Yes. The winner doesn't automatically move on, so it's good that he gets to form the group according to his own taste. Q. It's well-known that you are very skilled.A. The manager and the teammates have been considering me as one of the favorites to win, but I was knocked out in the final round of qualification. I was very sorry and disappointed. Q. How are you going to practice?A. I'm going to study other players' styles and play in the GSTL. Q. Any comments?A. I advanced by beating IMYoda and I want to say sorry to him. I will repay him with good results in the future. I also want to thank the manager and others that have been helping me. Source: http://www.playxp.com/esports/read.php?news_id=2583667 ZeNEXSakura + Show Spoiler + Q. How does it feel to qualify for Code A?A. I was very nervous, but I'm happy to be moving on. I will try hard to do well in the main event as well. Q. What was the most difficult thing today?A. Everything was hard. I was generally too anxious in my games. Q. What is your goal?A. My only goal is to get Code S. Q. What do you think you lacked in the past?A. I think I've been too nervous. I will try and do really well this time. Q. What do you think you're good at?A. I like to force small battles everywhere. I was always confident in my ability to harass and take small advantages. Q. What kind of a player do you wish to become?A. I want to be like IMMvp and be recognized by everyone around. Source: http://www.playxp.com/esports/read.php?news_id=2583950 Yeah + Show Spoiler + Q. How does it feel to qualify for Code A?A. I've been getting a lot of stress while playing Zerg. My wife has been treating me well and IMNesTea helped me be able to play games. I was also able to practice comfortably with the help from IM's Zerg players. Q. You're married, how are you doing with your job?A. I quit my work a month ago. The work was too demanding so I was thinking about moving to a different company, and this opportunity came up. Q. It can't be too easy considering your age.A. In StarCraft, IMNesTea won a lot of amateur tournaments. I have just as much experience as he does. I always had the thought of playing games professionally, and I wanted to experience that feeling I had back in the day. Q. Were there any difficult matches?A. I played against a Terran in the second match, and I almost lost. Q. Do you have any plans to join a team and practice with a system?A. I don't have anything planned for now. I am in Code A, so I want to see how far I can go with my skill. Q. Do you have any goals?A. Well... I don't know how good I am, so I don't really have a goal. I'm going to try my best in my upcoming matches. Q. Any comments?A. I want to thank IMJunwi and IMNesTea. I also want to say I love my wife. Source: http://www.playxp.com/esports/read.php?news_id=2584023 ST_Virus + Show Spoiler + Q. How does it feel to qualify for Code A?A. I'm very happy. Q. Were there any difficult matches?A. The match against PpungPpungPrime went to a very long drawn-out game, and I barely managed to win. The match against SeCretfOu was also hard, but not as hard as the first match. Q. Why do you think you failed to qualify in the past?A. I don't think I tried hard enough. I was able to find out what I lacked and fill in my weaknesses once I joined a team. Q. How far do you think you will advance?A. I want to get to the up and down matches and eventually get Code S. Q. Do you want to face a particular player?A. No. Q. What kind of a player do you want to become?A. I want to be recognized as a decent Terran player. Q. Any comments?A. I want to thank the teammates that practiced with me, and I hope we get good results in the finals of Zotac Cup. Source: http://www.playxp.com/esports/read.php?news_id=2584038 TSL_Pretty + Show Spoiler + Q. How does it feel to qualify for Code A?A. I'm very numb. It feels like a dream and I'm very proud. Q. What was the most difficult thing during a match?A. I had a lot of trouble in the final match against KimMinHyuk. Q. Your time of qualification is rather delayed, why do you think this is the case?A. I think I lacked practice and was overconfident before. I thought I would cruise through easily, but that hasn't been the case. Q. Do you think you'll be nervous for your first broadcasted match?A. I'm nervous. The qualification matches were this hard, so it must be even harder. Q. What is your goal?A. I want to advance to Code S. Q. Do you want to play against anyone?A. I'm not too sure yet. Q. Even though it's just 2 second place finishes, were you ever jealous of MarineKingPrime? A. The fact that he is younger has been rubbing me the wrong way and I'm very jealous of him.
Q. Any comments? A. My teammates TSL_Smart and Lee Ho-Joon failed to advance. I hope they don't become too down about it and qualify next season. I want to thank the coach and other teammates. Mom and dad, I love you.
Source:http://www.playxp.com/esports/read.php?news_id=2584041 oGsSuperNova + Show Spoiler + Q. How does it feel to qualify for Code A? A. This is my first try after making the switch, so I'm very happy.
Q. How long have you practiced? A. It's been 2 weeks since I joined the team. I think I practiced for about 2 months total.
Q. What made you switch? A. It was too hard to gain an opportunity in StarCraft, and I had a hard time as I didn't get any game time. StarCraft 2 was released just at the right time and I decided to make the move.
Q. How is StarCraft 2 now that you've played it? A. It's very similart to StarCraft and the interface is more comforting.
Q. What is the difficult thing about it? A. I'm not too sure. I don't find anything particularly challenging. It's still very early to tell, so I think I'll find out as time passes.
Q. Since you have experience playing games on TV, you must be less nervous than others. A. I'm very confident that I can at least get Code S.
Q. Do you have any wishes to play against anyone? A. I want to avoid IMMvp (laughs). I can't think of anyone else.
Q. Any comments? A. I want to thank the fans for the endless support and I also want to thank my old Woonjin teammates.
Source:http://www.playxp.com/esports/read.php?news_id=2584049 MvPDog + Show Spoiler + Q. How does it feel to qualify for Code A? A. I feel happy that I barely squeezed through.
Q. Which matches were difficult today? A. I had to play against SlayerS_Golden in the first round and against a teammate in the next.
Q. Why do you think you failed to qualify before? A. I think I sucked too much.
Q. Your next match will be your first game on TV, how far do you want to advance? A. I want to reach the up and down matches.
Q. Do you have any player set as your goal? A. I want to become like IMMvp. We play the same race and he barely has any losses.
Q. Any comments? A. I want to thank the MvP teammates for helping me practice. I'm the only member that got through today, but I hope others can do well next time.

How does it feel to qualify for Code A? A. I had finance problems recently, so I quit gaming. I started to practice again last week and I'm happy to get the results today. Q. What was difficult in your matches today?A. Since I came from Dae Jun, my conditions weren't great. I still set my mind straight and I was able to do well. Q. What are some challenges in practicing alone without a team?A. Due to personal reasons, I'm living at a friend's house at the moment. I've been a negative influence to him and I wasn't able to focus so I didn't get to practice with consistency. I'm glad that I got good results, and I'm very thankful for my friend. Q. What is your goal this season?A. Rather than having a goal, I've always played with a focus on the team. I started as a part of my mom's recommendation, but I haven't been too active in pursuing my goals. I thought about a different path in my career, but I hope to lighten up the desire to play with this opportunity. Q. Did the performances of oGsSuperNova and IMMvp make you jealous in any way?A. I was very happy to see IMMvp win, but I didn't really have the desire to stand on the stage. With today's results, I hope to have that desire in the future. Q. Any comments?A. My friends cheered me up each time I tried to quit gaming. I want to thank my friends, as well as my mom who has been very supportive of me. oh and edit: Thanks for the interviews!!! :D

I have a hard time taking a player named Excrement seriously, but if he gets to code s then i think listening to tastosis will be like comedy hour at the apollo.

He's already in Code S. He was second place in the Code A tournament for January, lost to oGsTOP.
Excrement also known as NexByun, NexBleach, etc.

Nice, thanks for the interviews!
CchapSeungEu seems like a strong player, will be interesting to see how he gets on.

Nice interviews, thanks!

Thanks for translating, looking forward to reading the rest.

Hope BoxeR can influence his team to get some better names! Cchapwhatever and Alicia (wtf?) just aren't very threatening or interesting.
also, what was Seung's name in BW? He says he was in SKT with Boxer but he doesn't ring a bell.

cchapseungsu is clearly the romanization of his korean name, what it actually translates too is probably more interested

Thanks for the translation! Excrement = byun, right?

Byun is quite good. He went 2-3 vs Nestea and 2-0'ed TOP in the gainward tournament. I think he's up there with Top, Jinro, etc but still weaker than MKP and MVP.

I like how both players in SlayerS thank Boxer's gf for supporting them haha.

lol can we please just call Nex"excrement" Byun, its his actual tag and his last name.

His name is ZeNEXByun on Gom. He took 2nd in the Code A tournament and got promoted to Code S. They didn't make fun of him because Byun is actually his family name.

NEXCoCa T_T that kinda sucks

funnily enough they generally seem quite apologetic that gom keeps bleeping his name out

The thing about Byung is that he has a ZvT build that he claims can't be beat and he didn't lose to a Zerg in code A with it.

I want to win in Code A, be a good son to my parents and get recognized. !
SOO cute !

thanks for the interviews. byun I think was used to be bleach the protoss. He was unimpressive as protoss but in his series with leenock to get to Code S he showed a lot of skill, pretty good series if u haven't seen it.
|
Just to let ppl know, I'm only using ZeNEXExcrement, because that's his actual ID on ladder. He is only called ZeNEXByun because Gom (John) decided to sensor out his ID I think.

Would just like to say thanks for these, were fun to read!

Wow IMLosira beat NexPuzzle and IMYoda to proceed. Those are code S games in the qualifiers.

So Puzzle DID try to qualify for code A. Any news on ST_Bomber?

LosirA beating Puzzle grrr. lol. Thanks for the interviews.

Interesting interviews there; nice to see some new faces.. still trying to understand why someone would make their progaming ID Alicia - but then again there is AngelGirl.Prime ...
Thanks for the interview Canucks great job as usual :D

nexcoco is now my favorite korean in code A just from his interview.

Byun is korean for "excrement" or "s**t", it's also his family name DX.

Man this Code A looks to be even more competitive than the last(thank god). Quite a few ex-BW pros in there, add in the foreigners and there's definitely gonna be some good games to watch.

Q. Even though it's just 2 second place finishes, were you ever jealous of oGsTOP?[T/N:not sure what the question is implying, maybe they're related?] A. The fact that he is younger has been rubbing me the wrong way and I'm very jealous of him.
Pretty sure that should say FoxeR, not TOP. They have similiar names (김정훈 vs 이정훈).
|
Forgive me if I'm wrong but isn't there 32 people in code A. Seeing that the top 16 from GSL Jan is guaranteed a spot in GLS Mar means that there is 16 spots up for grab from the qualifier. Seeing that there are 4 spots reserved for foreigners (I heard it is huk, ret, hapro, fxomoonglade), so thats actually 12 spots up for grab from the qualifier. How come the op had interviews from 13 people that qualified to code A from qualifiers?

I liked Yeah's interview. Awful name, but seems like a nice guy. It seems like he's just got kind of a "happy to be here" kind of attitude. Sort of like how ggOma (LittleBoy) was in GSL 3. I hope he does well (unless he faces a foreigner )
Seems like a lot of them are nervous, except SlayerS_CchapSeungEu, IMLosirA, ST_Ace, and Yeah.
The comments about BoxeR from the SlayerS guys were good, too.

Because NEXLiveForever is dropping out of Code S to go into the military. So, they have to fill a Code S spot with one of the players that lost in the Up and Down matches. So it's 15 players from GSL Jan + 4 foreigners + 13 qualifiers.

He'll have a replacement from code A among the people who failed up/down. So that's why there's 1 extra slot.

Pretty sure that should say FoxeR, not TOP. They have similiar names (김정훈 vs 이정훈). confirmed, the thisisgame transcription had 이정훈 in the question. And it makes sense that he'd be asked about him, since they were teammates on MBC Hero

Thanks, didn;t know that NEXLiveForever was doing his military service. Makes complete sense. So who is going up from Code A? I hope it is Maka or a zerg

Iris managed to cope with it.

Probably a nub question, but did HuK try out for Code A? I would imagine he could qualify just fine...

i cannot wait to see the code A matches!!! I hope all foreigners make it to the up and down match

uh where is ST bomber and Nex Puzzle. I thought they were a shoe in for this.

I thought GanZi was on IM ?

i hope Yeah does well. Takes guts to quit your job and try to be a progamer. Takes more guts to do it when you have a wife.
If he fails miserably he'll never hear the end of it.

No wonder he was the Berzerker Terran.
I actually thought Alicia was a girl, so I'm mad at him for disappointing me.
I'm rooting for Ganzi and Yeah, now. They gave up a lot to follow their GSL dreams, and I respect that quite a bit.

rofl GanZi's interview is so depressing. he sounds like a relapsing drug addict.

Is Yeah on a team? I really hope he does well. He seems like a really great guy. ^^

Anybody know what happened to ST_Bomber?

Does anyone know what happened with ST_Bomber? I've been hearing good things about him and surprised he didn't qualify.
-edit-
Anybody know what happened to ST_Bomber?
Lol guess I should at least read the final reply before making my post

Watched quite a few games of huk vs losira on Huk's stream, Losira seems like a very good zerg. Can't wait for Code A this season(can't believe I'm saying this after last season)

IMYoda is a great ID. Although it should probably be YodaIM to stay in character.
Actually, it's just that 'IM' is probably the best tag for (un)intentionally hilarious IDs. Just imagine if Byun switched to IM... Almost as good as my dream scenario of mvp actually switching to MvP, which would make him MvPmvp.
Progamers should choose teams with their ID in mind, nothing else!!!

Bomber said he lost to Alicia.
|
So many people didn't make it. Damned! You would almost think that they need 2 Code A tournaments. Where the top 4 of each tournament is allowed to go to Code S.
We are missing out on so many good players. NeXPuzzle really deserves a spot in Code A. And probably so many more good players didn't make it.

Can't wait to see his play and see what talent he has. oh and edit: Thanks for the interviews!!! :D He got second in the code A finals to TOP.
