I tell my race to anyone who 'gl hf's me (or anything similar). Although, I'd say about a quarter of the time I just offer up my race I get some sort of hostile response, most recently a 'F**K off dick' which made me laugh pretty good. I get a pretty good kick out of people who want to BM me for being polite. Its not really being polite because they have absolutely no reason to believe a thing you say. Maybe a third of the random players I've played against said a race. And of them around 75% were lying. Best time was when I had one guy ranting about "zerg again" and how he "keeps rolling zerg today" for the first minute of the match solid. I didn't manage to scout until last position on a large map. He was Terran. And went for an SCV/Marine all-in. Point is although you may think you're being polite they're probably just assuming you're trying to deceive them and put them off their game. Which makes people irritated.
What some (let's say, normal) people perceive as politeness, other's perceive as some sort of underhanded tactic, like a house made out of candy that lures in children to be eaten.

I always ask Random players their race. I don't blame them if they don't tell me, but I appreciate it when they do. Out of quite a lot, only 1 has ever lied to me. (I still scout after depot to check though).

As a random player in BW and WC3, I've never really understood the question... it strikes me as being on par with asking if someone is going to cheese, and I've very rarely seen that. Why would you trust me? Even if you could trust everything I said, why would you think I'd want to share that piece of information?
Now I know that other random players are to blame. Sellouts.
The 'psychopathic cunt' should have called the other guy a cheater for skipping two thirds of the game. What kind of careless person practices only 1/3 of a game just so that they get more wins against those of us who want to play the whole thing?! Darn psychopaths forcing us to choose between limiting what we play and being competitive...

Because many random players would prefer to play the legitimate matchup instead of a distorted one. Very simple.

I have to say i play random as well, and i've been through all that "random is overpowered", "you cheat", bla bla bla and endless rage for not wanting to say my race. When i am accused i am BM for not sharing that info (my standard line is "I never tell" and i have to use it a lot ) i tell the other player that asking this is indeed BM, not using an option the game offers me. And for all you random haters out there, randoms (well, i at least) don't play to abuse the system somehow and steal your precious ladder points, as it is MUCH harder to master all races at a high level. I was high master terran at first, but after looking at so many streams and competitions i decided i want to experience all of what Starcraft has to offer not just a small part of it. Yeah, it's that simple, and more fun as well!
Now, ontopic, some gems gathered from the start of my Starcraft 2 carrer. Some Pro's in there too
Enjoy

Says he doesn't play to abuse the system and steal ladder points. Accuses players of being BM for asking his race.

If i cared that much for ladder points and stuff, i would have remained terran, as i dropped to diamond the first season i started playing random, and the following ones i only went to mid master with my mmr until recently. Also, asking a random player his race is the same as asking his starting strategy, if he has taken gas or no, or other dumb thing like that.
If you want to know, scout, not take it for granted that you should know my race. Also, i said i only accuse of BM the ones who start crying "BM, you don't tell race!". There are people that can ask in a polity way and accept my refusal the same way... I can understand they want to give it a try or that other randoms might do them a favor and their race to them, but i can't understand their constant whining and BM... Also, from experience, the same people that cry because of this are the same that only know to do one opening, and can't adapt to changes.
Anyway, my post has nothing to do with me being random, most of it is BM from the time i played only one race, and as you can see, it has nothing to do with the so called starting advantage. People who can't take a loss will always find excuses, like their race is UP, your is OP, your tactic is OP, RANDOM is OP and so on...

Picked this gem up a few minutes ago.
Anyone care to translate? It looks like galactic arabic.

No typing but it was bad manner.
4v4. I try something different, only tanks and turrets. Its pretty neat because u get to understand unitcomps better (what tank only lacks basically). I crawl really really slowly to opponents side building turrets and only tanks. Eventually my 20 tanks 1shot the terrans planetary fortress.
Instant drophack and message :
Ofcourse i was proud after the drophack and that message that my "tanks only" worked out, haha

To be fair you baited him with that a bit. That being said danks is an idiotic child and a massive flamer. I've even seen a replay of him on the hacker thread of him blind in base proxy 2 gating on a 4 player map.

He started off by cheesing me, I countered and won... interesting choice of words? lol

Second line looks like a french abbrevation for "Son of a bitch" though :p

I was even nice to the guy. It was unranked, and he was hostile at the start. I offered a GG if he wanted it (maybe he was having a ladder anxiety day?) but he played on, so I crushed him. He didn't like it. Too good. Niteshade
