|
GO Chinro!! I predict the final: Jinro vs FruitDealer!
|
This. Is. Win.
mizU's found a very distinct correlation between Jinro and Leno, and it's not their good looks
Love the coined term, "jinrolled" too btw.

Chinro is gosugosu. He has a chance to make the ro4! WAAAAAA. Nerdgasm.
|
actually jinro like most northern caucasians has a big jaw, not much of a chin..
|
Oh man, Chinro vs Choya. I want to vote for the sole non-korean left in the tournament, but i also want to cheer for the protoss brethren. ARGH i am gonna have a hard time voting. I will also have a hard time voting between the other two players vsing eachother (FoxeR vs IrOn)
Edit: Woot, 500th post
|
I really like the Jinro steamroller. Thanks for collecting all of these.
|
This is maybe a silly and slightly off-topic question but; what does '[name] hwaiting!' and '[name] fighting!' mean? I'm sure it is a broodwar reference (which I have never played), about korean commentators or something, but I'm not exactly sure. Could anyone be so kind to explain? Thanks in advance!

Jinro! Fantastic play! Very impressed!

Basically just "GO [NAME]".

Congratulations Jinro! MLG 2010 SC2 Champion

I hope Jinro goes all the way!
Does anyone know what Choya meant about Jinro trashtalking about him? Probably they asked Jinro against who would like to play, Immvp or Choya. And if you are honest...

It might have been an misunderstanding regarding the answer to this question.
Q. Are you aware that your next possible opponents are very skilled players? A. I knew that both of them were very talented. I played a lot of games against choyafOu, but I haven't seen IMmvp since the time I started. I personally prefer TvP, so I hope choyafOu advances, but I don't care if IMmvp advances either.

I used to play Choya on ladder a lot but not in a long time, same with MVP (tho I only played him 2-3 times, and it was when he just switched).

In Korean, "xxxxx fighting!" is a cheer for someone, like "go xxxxx!" or "good luck xxxxx!"
I think the HWAITING thing just came up because when Koreans say fighting it sounds like hwaiting. Not completely sure about this part though.
|
omggg this is awesome! Because of Jinro I moved from 230 to 9 on liquidbet!
|
Jinro builds lately have been very mineral intensive... I think he needs to get more ravens out... seeker missles etc etc... pdd. raven the only gas intensive unit Jinro doesn't use regularly.

Korean doesnt have a letter for the F sound. Thats why they have to put Hw to resemble the sound. Another combination korean cant make are -rts ( as in esports , spelled as espoch in korean ).
You sometimes hear 'eh' after an english word because placing an s or d at the end of a word automatically changes it phonetically into a t. So they have to 'cheat' and put an eh sound behind it. This way they can still say protosseh instead of protot.
|
as happy as I am for Jinro...
MC clearly had the line of the day
"Me all in. He drone drone drone. Me win."
I love the fact that Jinro and MC are great friends, coz they're both awesome (although I worry for Jinro if they go head to head in the semis, because MC is amazing at PvT).
|
Pretty clear now that Sweden is the #2 Starcraft 2 nation in the world...!
|
I bet its gonna drive IdrA crazy now that people will conclude Jinro's better than him.
And anything that drives IdrA crazy can't be bad.

He said specifically in his interview that he knows you said you'd prefer to face him and that he doesn't think that you meant anything disrespectful by that. He also said he is honored to player a foreigner player, because this is the global starcraft league.
People are just hearing what they want to hear because they are drama lamas.

He's done so awesomely. Watched his matches today and he never really looked in any trouble. All his hard work is paying off and it's great to see such a nice guy doing the business.
Jinro Fighting!!!

Jinro! Man, how I enjoy watching your games. Not only because you're from my neighbouring country, but because you play games straight up. No fucking bullshit all-ins all the time, like the other terrans out there.
You play so safe and still manage to apply pressure and apparently have full map awareness.
Good luck in Ro8, and at least we KNOW we'll see you in future GSL's now.
|
Fuck yes! Go Jinro, beating Polt in a tvt is no small thing!
|
Grats Jinro! Grats Team Liquid as well. Hell of a "team" indeed, this makes a long time lurker very happy and I see good things in Team Liquid's future as far as having a pro team is concerned.
Where does the money start in the GSL?
|
Where does the money start in the GSL?
I'm pretty sure every round of the GSL has some sort of money prize. But it starts quite low and goes up exponentially from round to round. At this point I think Jinro's already won a few thousand bucks.

The noble white knight Jinro rides gallantly into the round of 8

Where does the money start in the GSL? He gets 3500$ for the ro8 . You have everything on liquipedia , search gsl http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft2/GSL

He's the only guy from Teamliquid that I like, hope he'll do well vs Choya.

nice work Jinro! I was wandering, the day of the game Ret was very confident you ware gonna streamroll the guy(he said it on Huk's livestrem) and he was right. I thought it strange because he did took down boxer and didn't seem like a pushover at all.
Did you have the same confidence going into the game, and why?

How can you not like TL-Huk/Tyler/Ret/TLO/Haypro? They are mannered ambassadors to the SC community and each one of them is very skilled.

Jinro, What do you think of Choya's playstyle? Do you think you will be able to prepare properly for it?

hilarious!! thanks for that! go jinroo!

Finally a foreigner better at doing the thrash walk than at doing the trash talk. But that's how those Northern Europeans roll.
And my guess is, since Jinro has to play TvP and MC has to play PvT a lot of practicing will go on between the two.

Jinro's style is kind of the opposite of MarineKingPrime. There are many other Terrans in oGs house.

Yea, I wonder too. I was kinda surprised to hear that Jinro already got a lot of Korean fans (according to his latest interview). Haven't heard much about what the Koreans think about Jinro's games.
