Why are people asking if he is staying in Korea or not... he has been there to be in the pro scene for years, why would that change...

Plus, have you people heard of LAN?

Don't worry now they are best of friends. They have to be.
Lots has changed since BW but in BW they were all best buds.

He isn't on a professional Korean Starcraft team.

Oh yeah, that LAN thing Starcraft II doesn't have?
am I missing something in your post?

sunny just got fired so they don't have a manager at the moment. to be honest their sc2 squad is in turmoil. raven and garimto barely represent the team. artosis is busy in korea and cloud/naniwa haven't really made waves yet in germany.
that and the organization is pretty new (from a management perspective)

MYM have been such a mess for a long time.

Anyway, him joining EG has nothing to do with the other EG SC2 players really.

I think this is exactly right. It's about what they could offer, not the team around him. I don't think clan wars are really important yet.

That said, fnatic.IdrA would've been amazing.

The team is just a name/sticker on his shirt. I highly doubt he will move back to the states, and I also highly doubt that he will take his teammates very seriously. He just needs to cover his critical living expenses and I bet he just went for the team that offered the best deal.

Having a team is more than a "sticker on your shirt".

Yes... It also covers your critical living expenses, just like I said

Do you seriously think IdrA would get much out of practicing with LzGaMeR? I mean, Lz is good, but IdrA is on an entirely different level.

No, but I think there'll be more commitment than only getting an E.G shirt. I don't know more than you so it's obviously speculation, but I doubt EG will just throw money his way and not get anything in return.

I don't understand what you mean. They get what every sponsor gets...Their name plastered along side IdrA's whenever he wins something lol.

What more do sponsors usually "get" from their players? Kisses? Their soul? Cleaning the bathroom?

I think you are confusing "team" and "sponsor".

EG is a pretty good choice. Like GTR said, the SC team is pretty shitty, but their CS (counter strike) is top notch.

They also have probably the best SSF4 team in the US, with Justin Wong, Marn and Ricky Ortiz.

e: well not really a "team" since they're signed as individuals, but anyways

Very unexpected choice if true, but gotta go where the $$ is.

If EG ponied up the cash then no reason to turn it down, who cares if he like LZ or not it's a business move.

I am completely surprised by this. No MYM, no korean clans? IdrA and Inka? Uhh...

I'm going to wait for the official announcement.

In this context, a "team" is just a group of players with the same set of sponsors. Nothing more. There are no team battles in SC2.

I keep lol'ing everytime I read someone saying "IdrA & fnatic would be awsome."

I am not sure what the best decision would be for him because obviously we do not know the contracts and incentives being negotiated by teams to IdrA, but I hope he goes somewhere that has a lot of potential to grow and isn't just a "team" with a vent channel... but he's smarter than that
where's the rants n flames section?

Guys maybe listen to all the interviews Artosis made with Idra first, he said he was considering going to Germany but when GSL was announced he said he would definitely stay in Korea.

I'm pretty sure EG has the money to pay someone a large salary if needed. EG can really support 1 or 2 superstar players like Grubby and Idra.

If they can afford to keep Justin Wong (who used to have 3 personal corporate sponsors prior to joining EG), I'm sure they could afford a couple IdrAs as well.
