I think its because there really arent any sc2 korean teams because its not that big over there.

But we'll probably never know~~

He basically said why in his statement when leaving CJ. He was pretty tired of their training schedule f.ex.

Tester and Into the Rainbow (think that was the 2nd guy) left oGs for that reason, and oGs is an SC2 team. I assume all korean proteams have very similiar schedules/life styles.

His contract was up.

I didnt say he left of his own accord, and its not the point. Point is he was tired of the training schedule, ergo him joining another Korean team would be strange.

Time to see how his own schedule affects his skill. Hope he can keep himself at a high level of play. I'd love to see him win GSL

He's better off on EG, now he can actually enjoy life when he's not playing SCII, the training regimes for the pro teams is just ridiculous and counter productive. Pretty nice coup for EG to get such a top class player on your line up.

all 4 spots so far have been taken by former top american sc players even though no one cares anymore. third tier americans were/are god awful. if those kinds of players make it in its going to be after the likes of inc and inka and whatnot easily. wcg is gonna be the same old faces. minus lzgamer cuz hes bad.

but one of them lost to lzgamer... doesnt that kind of negate everything?

Reading this thread makes me laugh:

"OH GOT EG'S GONNA MAKE HIM MOVE TO AMERICA"
Nah dog. Why would you leave one of the biggest eSports markets to come back to one that's barely on it's feet? EG's pretty vicious in their business decisions and isn't dumb enough to move him from a big market to a much smaller market. Plus they know their way around global eSports, Korea is to starcraft what Sweden is to counter-strike(which doesn't give korea it's due really, it's a whole 'nother level) - the mecca the place where the best of the best of the best of the best play. A great environment for their players - and they know it. They wouldn't move him from there.

"WHY WOULD HE JOIN EG? THEY SUCK"
It's about the cheddar - intel, kingston, steelseries, MSi, Gigabyte etc aren't exactly small sponsors when you look at their market share in their respective areas.

Then you go to the fact that they aren't' slouches when it comes their roster: Justin Wong is bar none the best player in north american SF4, their CS team is the best team in North america and a serious international contender who just won their first international event over fnatic, Grubby is Grubby and Da_hang from their QL division gives rapha a run for his money. No slouches anywhere in the lineup. They basically have some of the best talent in every game they support.

So basically l2westernesportsorganizations.PEACE.....

ON TOPIC:
I hope it's true that makes me smile. I remember thinking that no north american org would be able to really compete in starcraft only a year ago, but if EG gets Idra they really might be able to

Not gonna get specific here but EG has a yearly budget in the hundreds of thousands(you don't have to believe it since i don't want to give much more than that, but it's true). The CS team + Dahang from the QL team all have salaries for sure, not sure who else though. I'm sure with How big SC2 is getting Idra's contract includes a nice salary.

Idra going to EG is a great choice because of how much they bring to the table. Best organization in North America by far and one of the best non korean pro gaming organizations in the world. Just because the SC2 team wasn't the best doesn't mean the organization doesn't have funding, they've been an organization for ages and locked down great sponsorships in their time like Intel.

no it was Tester and Cool (sSKS and FruitSeller)

IntoTheRainbow just quit playing after King of the Beta but he's back for GSL now

I'd be surprised if EG can pay him a salary that sustains his life in Korea sans job... moveover, I don't know Korea's visa laws, but sans job how's his visa situation. I'd bet strongly he comes back to the states.

EG has several big-name sponsors and probably offered IdrA a hefty salary + expenses deal. At the end of the day, a professional is playing for the money so he accepted.

He won't come back to states any time soon. Idra has stated that 10000 times.
