I don't get this post? I thought this post was going to be A Comprehensive look at IdrA not some fictional dribble that proves Godwins law within the first half of the starting post. I like IdrA but I don't like this post.

Props to you op. People who are whining should go take a look at the history of tl before blatantly assuming that we are fanboys of idra mainly cause of sc2

Its an honest question. Why do people respect someone who gives no respect to others. No respect to the people who make this community possible (tournament organizers) and no respect to the players that make up the competition that he excels at.

that just might be why for a couple of us :D

But, IdrA complains about Terran being OP… Again, Churchill wouldn’t shut up about how OP the Nazi were, so America agreed to focus on the war with Germany BEFORE fully going to war with Japan (even though we joined in because of Pearl Harbor). Churchill wouldn’t shut up about DT u-boats or Panzer siege tanks being OP! Also, you think Davy liked being out numbered 30 to 1 at the Alamo? I bet he was pissed at how OP the Mexicans were. So heroes can be complainers… check.

That could very very well be the nerdiest thing I have read in my whole life...

I like idra because he doesn't bend or heed to your delicate sensibilities of manners. Get over this "etiquette" nonsense. Shit talk is part of ANY game. If you can't handle it, or cry about seeing it, go play another game. We all play a game. Idra is really good at this game. His gameplay does the talking, everything past that is trivial - except to people like you who love to make a mountain out of a molehill.

Just two examples off the top of my head. But also I have to say that without Idra we would not have this kind of entertainment.

Sinatra, he's entertaining and makes for hilarious encounters -- entertaining like spectator eSports should be. You shouldn't be taking his BM seriously, anyway.

Bah, IdrA is just another spoiled Prima Donna with lousy social skills.. Sure, he's talented, but so were Genghis Khan and Ted Bundy. Wouldn't want them over for dinner, either.

Anyone played the idra simulator currently on EU servers? (not sure if it's on US) it's hilarious

What?!? What does it do?

It's a 1v1 TvZ vs a very hard computer on (lol) Kulas Ravine, the objective of the game is to beat idra without making him ragequit, idra starts with 3 bases.

Idra will ragequit at any sight of a reaper, massing of one units, banshees and pretty much everything.

idra will also type out famous insults and rants.

when idra ragequits, the game says "idra is victorious"

So, just search for it in the custom games

i haven't beaten him yet

Simply hilarious. I must try this out when I have the time .

And I'm surprised at all the haters towards the OP, especially when it can be taken seen both as praise and satire of the player. But I guess IdrA is just a very polarizing figure (though personally I feel pretty neutral about his "metagame interactions").

This is ironic. I just state my opinion about a player, which is actually no big deal and my opinions about how people should treat other people, also no big deal. However, by quoting me and then trying to somehow justify IdrA's childish behavior (comon' ... the guy is a friggen adult, act like one) you are the person that is making my opinion of IdrA (a molehill) into a mountain (a quest to somehow make the entire community be polite and curtious?)

I'm allowed to say my mind and opinion in a sensible manner, kthx.

If I were to start talking on these forums like idra does to other people, I might find a fast ban ticket. Its almost a double standard. Why is his behavior acceptable? Just because its consistent? Just because he's been here longer? Why?

Because he is very good and it's part of his persona. For the record though Idra does get bans from time to time for stuff, so it isn't like he does what ever he wants. TL.net isn't a sissy foo foo forums either.

You may not like Idra, that's fine. It's actually good that you don't. TLO, WhiteRa, Lz, Qxc and all the other pro's need fans too. That way I can root against your pro and you can root against mine. It's like any pro sport, the best of the best are going to have thier shit talkers. It's part of what makes them great.

I didn't like Idra at first, the BM was off-putting. The more I saw him play though the more I respected his game. It seems to me that a lot of top players rely on high APM, build orders and timings and that their overall capacity for strategy isn't that high. However there are some that are very good at strategy and Idra is one of them in my opinion.
