In response to Idra, about being able to be a high level player outside of Korea right now which you couldn't do in BW, all the best players in the world are still viewed as being there in the GSL. Nestea Zerg, MVP Terran, MC Protoss, that's not a coincidence is it? Maybe you don't have to be in Korea anymore to win money, but all the prestige is still there.
I guess the question that it comes to is, is the prestige of playing in Korea worth it?

First off that means all foreigners get the English talk in background or no game sound at all.
Even worse, every recaster can only translate or repeat what the main caster tells.
Because telling anything else goes out of what is shown.

How great: " oh there is a drop at the but we will never know how many workers died because the English main caster rather likes to show the main base".

If a caster Lags he should have the respect to leave.
But saying more casters automatically means more risk is not helping.
(btw if a lonly main caster lags out -> no more covering -> oh thx)

Um, I believe they were talking about one observer, not a caster, a good observer (no speaky) so that everyone can restream that observer and cast off them.

I think the biggest reason is money. Like Tyler was talking about last week or the week before: going to Korea and getting in Code A then winning code A will maybe make you break even with the money spent to fly to Korea. Idra's in code S and makes pretty good money but he could probably make a lot more playing in America/Europe.

I still think it's hilarious that Idra just trolled the whole group who wanted to play him. Obvious solution is for Zenio, Clide to participate in two starleagues at once, lol.

So if nasl.tv is legit, and there will be an NA starleague, that's obviously exciting news, but I wonder how that'll pan out. Since so many players are moving to Cali, and IdrA's moving back, that would indicate a live tournament, but the US is so large I doubt even US players would travel if the SL is on a schedule like Korean ones, where you have to play every day- there aren't enough US pros to carry that and I doubt enough foreign people would want to pick up everything and move, unless the prizes are truly huge.
Maybe Idra/Incontrol/Gretorp/everyone else moving to Cali is part of the tourney organization in some way? like Incontrol's casting or something? But then IdrA's moving back makes no sense since as far as I know he wants to remain a player, and if he was just a player and it wasn't a live tourney he could stay in Korea...confused.

its cool they are trying to hype up western sc2, but i wouldn't get anyones hopes up...

GSL and MLG are single tournaments. There is a hell of a lot more than just MLG in the west but not much more than GSL in Korea.

We might not see any single western tournament grow to rival GSL but all of them combined may very well surpass it.

they will probably just play each other before he leaves and save the replays for casting on the 21st.. they can also do it on smurf accounts so no one will be able to check history.....

GOM released the highest paying players, and Koreans are at the top of the list because of the GSL but it's only the people who can consistently make like the top 4- MKP, Jinro, etc.- under that and you could probably make almost as much by attending foreign tournaments. That and the fact that you can understand the language of everyone around you and have a lot of practice partners that you can communicate with is probably a huge incentive to move back as well.

I don't know about that and it seems like the pros aren't sure about that as well. Korea has around 2 tourneys a month. Very high risk but with high reward. Europe and NA have plenty of tournaments albeit with smaller prizes. We'll see what happens with NASL but right now it's way easier to make a name for yourself and make some money outside of Korea.
