QXC was saying he plays custom games because ladder has a chance of getting somebody that wont be a challenge to you. He wants to play vs someone who has atleast a 50% chance of beating him. Tyler on the other hand does things individually. For example if he wants to work out timings on a build he can play versus a computer because the point isn't beat another person, but to get a solid build without distractions. I do the same thing right now. I was working this past week on getting my mechanics up so i played that multitasking trainer which boosted my effective apm by 40. If i were to do that on ladder the early game isnt really that challenging and i can't pull all my effort into mechanics without losing.
