Well, they ruined the last episode of iNcontroL. It was good for the most part (although it came quite close to "too far" when Idra and iNcontroL had their little discussion; particularly the part about there being no competent US protoss, he said directly to his teammate, a US protoss), but they should never have brought this up again.

I've turned off, I'm going to bed. I'll check the thread tomorrow to see if they actually got on to something different before the end of the show.

i've been around SC for a long long time. naive is one thing i am not.
i understand these guys POVs when it comes to laddering. they play ladder to practice for tournaments. if they lose while laddering? no big deal. if they w while laddering? no big deal. it's all just cumulative for those few times a year when they _want_ to prove they they really are that good, according to their "ladder rank"
tournament placements means so much more to these guys than their ladder rank

As a casual starcraft viewer who is more on the mature-side (older than most of the community), I get a tinge of pain every time i hear the word 'rape' being used ---- even only in relation to starcraft battles. Someone very close to me suffered that crime, and just hearing the mention is enough to bring up strong emotional responses.

It doesn't need to be said -- broaden your vocabulary. Inserting it into common conversation minimizes its use in correct context.

FYI

JP's gift to Geoff in his going away episode was that GEOFF gets to pick the topics / itinerary of the podcast. Geoff was the one that organized today's cast and its Geoff who decided to do this. No one ruined anything because this is wat Geoff wants.

iNcontroL needs to realize that trying to place a restriction on something is the easiest way to make it popular. I'm more inclined to use it out of protest than I ever was over the history of my gaming career.
