Hopefully that match HuK took off Tester ends up counting for him ![]() Gogo ITL! Will bring QXC up a bunch of slots and should put HuK in the #1 slot, although I'm not 100% sure how thier ELO system works so I could be wrong.

ELO works by calculating the expected winrate between two players based on their current ELO using a mathematical formula (your initial rating is 2000). If you win you get K*("your expected losing rate") points, and if you lose you lose K*"(your expected win rate)" points, with K being a predetermined value that is the same for every game (I think this is 20 in the TLPD). So for example if you have an ELO of 2200 and face an opponent with a rating of 2000, you are expected to with 76% of the time and lose 24% of the time. Thus, if you win you get 20*0.24 points and if you lose you lose 20*0.76 points. As for what games are counted, only official international tournaments are counted. Ladder games obviously can't be, since that would be both abusable and next to impossible to keep track of, and country restricted tournaments are unfair for the overall ranking.

Don't agree with this and I don't see what's unfair about players from the strongest countries being ranked more highly for beating their compatriots. It's going to create a completely skewed and inaccurate ranking system if "local games" are ignored. Wouldn't this method of ranking place someone like Idra above Flash if it were applied to BW, for example?
