I'm pretty sure the only way for your partner idea (not a bad one IMO) to work is for one of you to just say "I drop out" and trust that your partner tells you his account info if he gets a beta key.

Sorry, not sure what you meant by that comment. My point is, the set of people who chose to self-nominate themselves and then drop out are not better than people who did not self nominate themselves in the first place, nor are they better than people who might be staying in the contest for good reasons, so there's no reason to reward those people arbitrarily.
I understand there could be 5 million different reasons why someone decided to not self-nominate, self-nominate, opt-in, opt-out, etc. so I'm not going to pass judgement on any of them. I just think it's rather silly to contemplate the idea that the first people who opt-out should/will be given keys.

I'm amazed at how all these people still in are saying they need to team up to win, or partner up to win. Man, it just seems to me like they have no dignity to save within this community, which just goes to show they want these keys for themselves and have no respect or sense of community. They'd rather think of themselves than TL as a whole. I hope nobody gets them in here.
