Firstly, although he is somewhat new to the community, both of us have been lurking for at least a year. His few posts are usually in the liquibet section, but the posts he makes outside of them typically carry some weight; he's frugal with his posting, and although he is D+ at best, tries his best to improve at SC and to improve the community

Back in the day, when the original Starcraft was all the rage and Warcraft 3 only some screenshots and a deceitfull launch date, me and my best friend, Victor, duked it out regularly on cybercafes .This was in Chile, south america where most people play on cafes as a real gaming pc's aren't affordable to the majority.
Long story short, I kicked his ass regularly and did so all the way through WC3 and Frozen Throne. Then I began university, and he got a gaming computer and an internet connection for his birthday. Shortly thereafter I was getting destroyed by his warden/dh gosu micro. Today he is one of the top players in the Latin American WC3 scene.
I now live in sweden, but even though distance separates us, we've pledged that the grudge is on in SC2 and we're both super excited about the game. So pleaseTL, give me a beta key so I can ensure my revenge, and help spread the SC2 love around the world!

I love starcraft and would love a chance to play sc2 beta. I've been playing sc since 1999 and still think its best game ever made. I first met drone on uswest back in 2000 and have followed this site ever since. Watching those 3 nazgul reps of him owning up NTT was also a great memory. I know i won't recieve a code, but i still think teamliquid site is the best as far SC is concerned and was worth a shot.

I, like all the other desperate first posters in this thread, nominate myself.
I do this because I'm desperate. I've tried to get a key on the forum I frequent most, I've tried to get a key in the infuriating facebook contest, I even enlisted my wife to read off facebook keys to speed up my typing, and it was all for nothing. I was never very good at the original starcraft, when I first played it I was in Junior High and on a 14.4 modem; I could only really play custom games and tiny maps, but in my mind I was king of Blood Bath. About a year ago I got back into Starcraft because of GOM Tv and wonderful casting by Tasteless and Super Daniel Man; I still wasn't really any good (D-), but I enjoyed my brief Starcraft revival and have been looking forward to the sequel with almost rabid enthusiasm since then. I love watching Day9, I loved vultures but I can forgive Blizzard for their loss if only I could get into this damn Beta. I have never played a game of Starcraft 2, I guess I'm too proud to beg my friends to let me play for just a little while, knowing my time would be limited, but I'm not too proud to beg random internet strangers so please, please, please, for all these reasons and more, give me a beta key. I promise to be forever grateful and gg every game I lose and to continue posting on this fine website, I won't ever cheese... well for at least a month, and if I get any friend invites I'll come right back here to pass the awesomeness along. Lastly, if nothing I have said so far has warmed your heart towards my starcraft 2less plight, give me the key because I know the difference between your and you're.

This thread is hilarious, but I think it was a very poorly thought out idea.
TL could have done so many interesting things to give away these beta keys instead of a lump sum nomination & distribution.
It would be a good idea to delete this thread, come up with some fun ideas / contests that don't involve designing something on photoshop, and run with that.

When I say this, I mean any single person (most likely Kau) be chosen as someone to get a key. As I am the longest running PX staff member I can say this simply. The contribution of all of us working on it for the last 2 years has definitely earned a Key for the team.

This guy is one of the best voices of reason in the sc strategy forum, and his knowledge is insane. Top it off with his contributions to liquipedia and the guy deff has earned one.

Call it shameless promoting, but as one of the areas of the forum is the mafia forum. It has traffic from a regular group of players. Qatol was one of the leading members behind balancing the games, helping new players, creating guides and the like. As a member of the mafia forum, I think he has deff earned one as well.

Seems everyone Is nominating themselves I am nomination myself and my friend.
Me and him have been following Starcraft since we started playing and ICCup and following the Pro scene in 2007. I pretty much lurk TL everyday though I rarely post. He and I currently bet on pretty much every pro league OSL and MSL match (im currently up 100$) Both of us have been dying to try out SC2 and were screwing around with the AI version since it came up. I think every chance we've had to get a Beta key we've taken. (Twitter contest, Facebook Group, Multiple Website contests, etc)
So I have to enter us in for this one Hopefully this will be the time we get a beta or one of us at least. Praying here for it and good luck to everyone else.

I would be a good addition to the pool of Beta users because I realize that the purpose of the Beta is not to have fun with a free game but to help the developers to make the best possible game for official release.
This means exploring the depth of the game and attempting novel strategies and tactics in an attempt to separate actual game imbalance from perceived game imbalance from lack of imagination
I am willing to put this philosophy ahead of my own win-loss ratio and I have the free time to do it.
Also, It really is my birthday on Monday

I'd like to nominate myself. I am a TL.net "noobie" but I follow the SCII scene a LOT and watch vods a lot. I try to contribute as much as I can to TL.net and I could contribute a lot more if I had the SCII beta. I used to play a few games on my friends account but now I have no beta key to speak of or account because my friend changed his password after we had a huge disagreement that he took really seriously. I barely even got to play 5 games before he made me un able to play anymore. I love testing new strategies and I want to do what orb did which is purposely go down to copper level and try cheesing in every single 1vs1 I play and cheesing with all races playing random the whole time.
I love TL.net and I do know that I have made some bad posts out of my noobiness of posting on TL.net but I've learned sooooo much from TL.net and without Team Liquid I wouldn't know about the horror gate and hundreds of other strategies. I've contributed a little bit anonymously to Liquipedia.
I would post some replays in the SCII replay thread if I had a beta key. I would write a story about my adventures in the beta. I'll promote TL.net by designing T-shirts with all my friends. I would learn how to design T-shirts. I'll give help and contribute a lot more in the SCII and SCII strategy sections. I was the first person to post the contribution of the announcement of the SCII strategy guide(not that anyone wants it... not even I).
Please give me a beta key! I wrote all this just for a beta key! I would right more but I must go to sleep! Give me a beta key and I will sacrifice my dignity as a "cool kid" to promote SCII with all my heart as well as TL.net! Give me a beta key and.... well you get the idea.
