My partner, Vortel, (gold single/gold 2s protoss) and myself, Eerie, (silver/gold single/gold 2s terran) were laddering and pulled an even match against a double terran team on Twilight Fortress. We're thinking maybe they'll go bio or siege under air, and considering an early harass or single immortal push if they both FE. So my partner scouts normally.

Standard stuff. We set up for an upgraded hellion/stalker/immortal opening. My partner boosts out an obs and goes to follow up scout, since my reaper decided to be stupid and get stuck on a cliff.



Hey, I think they're going straight bio. Time to tech switch.

So they send out an early push.

It gets repelled as I get siege mode out just in time.

Will they tech switch?Guess not.

Okay, time to push. Let's see what they've got?Lots and lots of bio doom... red with stim/+1 attack, blue without stim but with +1/+1. Both have shield.

So he starts to take a little fire. Notice the units lost count. (4,5,1,1)

Uh...Again, note the units lost tab. Yes, that does say 72, 46, 6, 3. Would've been worse if blue hadn't supply capped himself a few times.

Red, the guy who built a planetary fortress at his nat because of one reaper and shot his own thor, is platinum 2v2, but didn't bother to tech switch after seeing siege tanks and colossus for defense. Didn't start building medivacs until 20 seconds before we hit 'em, didn't start building vikings until his army had been eaten by tank/colossus.

Also, consider that when we attacked, we were behind on income, had a lower food count, and a lower value army.
