Hey guys, so right now we're first on the Platinum 2v2 ladder, and I would like to hear some interesting tips from you guys. I will first tell you a few that I've noticed help a lot.
If you are:
T & P: Using a Chrono Boost on a Terrans Rax/Fac with a Reactor on it is SUPER effective! As you are now getting the boost doubly!
T & P: Rushing ramps with Sentries and Rine Rauders seems like a nice strat against P & P or P and P&T.
I'd love to see this thread grow, I will be checking back between games.
Also, even if you are not platinum level feel free to put strats you come up with or maybe something that has been working really well against you. Thanks guys!
EDIT: Now first!

Chronoboost on reactorax sounds nice, but is it that useful, considering how quickly marines build in the first place? Marines don't strike me as being that strong/universally useful either. Something like reactorfact hellions could be nice though, quickly getting 4 hellions out to rape workers or something. Could just lift the fact and make a tech addon right after.

interesting thought... the addons are interchangeable netween rax and fac, though never tried that!
I tech to Hellions typically when it is Terran/Zerg or Zerg/Zerg.... Toss just seem to rape Hellions in every way.
However, I think you underestimate marines. My typical BO for my Rine/Rauder push is as follows:
9 SD 11 Rax 13 Ref 15 SD 16 CC upg pump 2 rines then do tech addon for rax 19 rax (as soon as its done reactor) 20 eng 21 2nd ref 24 SD +1 attack as soon as eng bay is done first maurader and as soon as I have enough STIM PACK. If you get your Rax Chrono Boosted TWICE, provided unit comp of your opponent provides, you and your protoss ally should be ready to push out in a very deadly attack, whilst expanding at around 50 supply or 60 at the latest depending on the circumstances.
The timing on this depends on chrono boost. A smart protoss may be a near 30 seconds from getting that collosus to support his army, or a zerg player could end up with too many Mutas for marines to handle. Overall though the strategy has proven successful on several occassions. However, this is not to say we depend on this for a rush victory every time, but often times scouting leads us to the conclusion that it will be the best option.

Hey Hot_Bid, lovin the coverage of SC2 so far! Div1 seems a lot more hardcore than our division! Thank goodness I'm not in that one! hahaha. I have a feeling we will keep our #1 spot in this division come tomorrow. If we can get in the 1300~ point range we should be rock solid, but you should share your 2v2 wisdom with me/us .

well, at first we were winning largely based on simply building a lot of units (of whatever type) but as players got better we had to play more based on "smarts." my partner (insane) and i are not super great mechanical players (well maybe he is, but i'm not) so we largely have to outsmart teams. the map twilight fortress is especially neat, as it allows even more strategical deviation.
at first, a lot of the strategy centers around how to defeat the standard roach rush that zergs do. roaches are just so strong against lings and zealots, and have no easy tier1 counters. beyond just about every zerg roach rushing, there's a vast array of strategies. obviously, there's less stuff than in 1v1, but its still far more diverse (at least in this point in the beta) than in sc1.
experimented with a +1 melee attack + speedling build (your P ally boosts your upgrades) build with Zerg -- that didn't go well lol. lost a few times trying proxy gates. but roach+whatever is still the backbone and doesn't seem to have a hard counter yet, as immortals take a while to get to. thankfully, roaches don't seem nearly as OP as they did in the first day

If any of you guys don't have allies on or are up for more, feel free to add me to get some games going. Playing with non-TLers is way too gay for my taste right now =D

(Or check here, would be awesome if we can get that thread going: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=113058 )
Also: What are you guys using on the map with the shared bases? We've got like 5/6 losses from just that map. :\
