Will SC2 become a spectator game?

When watching SCBW, we have all these moments where we jump out of our seats in excitement. These include marine control vs lurkers, shuttle/reaver clearing a field of tanks, and even Bisu simply building a scout. These types of things bring the excitement the spectator needs to define sc1 as a spectator game. Now in SC2, we lost all the units that made BW so enjoyable to watch, but we have new ones to replace them. From playing/watching sc2 thus far, what do you see as becoming the new aspects that will make sc2 a spectator game, or will it not be a spectator game at all?

the game is gonna need a lot of work before it has the spectator appeal and the long-standing appeal of starcraft 1. having loved playing starcraft 1 ever since beta, i'm a little skeptical about what i'm seeing from starcraft 2 on the streams.

hard to say, I'm willing to give sc2 the benefit of the doubt despite these early streams entertainment qualities, we just don't know sc2 build orders and game flow, and the knew roles that units play in games not to mention what maps are actually good for competition.

Since Beta started, there has been more people watching than actually playing. ;]

The strategies haven't developed at all yet. I really don't expect battles to get hugely exciting for at least a few days, maybe even a few weeks. Don't expect to see pro-level mastery any time soon either.

Starcraft 2 seems pretty awesome to me though. I don't think the game looks bad at all right now.

for me, the wow factor usually comes in the form of a unit that deals splash damage (reaver, siege tank, nuke, spidermine). those can be unpredictable at times, but when its good, its REALLY good.

hard to tell this early on, but i guess we'll find out what makes us wet as the beta goes on

I'm watching Psyonic's stream and just saw David Kim's bane-ling army swarm over a Protoss army and 3 bases, exploding entire expansions and gateway lines instantly. Yes, this is going to be a spectator sport.
