I just thought it would be a good idea to compile a list of those who will be either streaming beta, or doing commentary on beta games via livestream. Aside from the popular featured streams I'm sure there are lots of randoms out there with beta keys who are planning on doing so (including me). I'm not sure how well streaming while playing will work (as far as image quality and latency goes), but at the very least I'm sure we will have lots of people at least recording themselves.
Post links to your livestream/youtube.
Streams that will be playing or commentating SC2:

God bless you wr3k, I will be tuning in daily
|
If someone taught me how to stream I'd definitely stream.
|
I'm hoping we get a substantial bunch of people doing so. Just post the name of your livestream channel at the top of your post if you are one of these people. Keep in mind the feasibility of doing this depends entirely on how good the connection is with Bnet 2.0, because if it lags too hard I will be forced to record and upload vods.
|
Don't care about livestreem.... Bring us the youtube VOD's and all shall be right with the world
|
I'll be livestreaming whenever I get a chance
Livestream: Link Race: Protoss (I'll be playing Zerg as well) Rank: D+
|
i will definately stream if i get a beta key no doubt

|
I will be live streaming the beta 24/7

Blizzard never have NDA for beta, they have it for Friends & Family alpha testing.

I'll be streaming provided I can get it working!
|
I'll be uploading 1080p video on Youtube assuming the replay function is working. My computer isn't quite good enough to stream recent games while playing competitively unfortunately.
|
Please provide links to your youtube account or livestream if it is not on the TL.net stream list.

I have a key, I plan to Stream, will update this post with links when I get everything setup.

I will be streaming my beta games as well.
iCCup rank : C race : Protoss although I will dabble in all 3 to get a feel
In regards to my livestream, I never set up Camtasia for SC streaming. I'm hoping ProCaster is compatible with SC2.

I'll most likely be doing one.
Currently inactive (since like a year school sucks) used to be like C in my prime back in the days, and then slowly fell into the D ranks due to inactivity. ;p T in BW, undecided in SC2.

I'm sure procaster will work, worst case scenario you run starcraft 2 windowed mode with no border and record your desktop. Thats how I do SC1 and it works fine.

IF I am lucky enough to get in on the Beta i'll stream everyday during Europe Day times into europe evenings so about 7AM GMT -> Midnight GMT probably till 2AM->3AM most nights depending on US Streams of players i'll want to watch.
Order of races i'll play is Zerg then Protoss then Terran, Zerg hopefully becoming my main again as I don't see myself ever falling out of love with Kerrigan.
Either way getting in early on in the beta cycle or late I was intending to play in a certain style for learning the game, in that in the very early games I was planning on restricting myself to tier 1 and pushing as hard as possible to win to really get a good feel of tier 1 capabilities then bringing it up to tier 2 then 3 then either switching races then or sticking to tier 1 with each in a row for many games then upgrading to tier 2 then 3.
So like:- Z tier 1 x 20->50+ games then P1 then T1 similarly Z fast tier 2 20->50+ games , P2, T2 Z tier 2+1 mixes 1,000,000+ games Z tier 1,2,3
Hopefully the Editor will come out so we can do some Micro Maps to get the feel of unit v units every day. I'd probably make a large micro map or x units v y units and practice that a good bit before playing normal games.
I'm not interested in Youtubing much other then any interesting quirks I see or situational things for discussion for learning. I'd probably Youtube micro'ing things mainly in HD ofc.
P.S. If livestream has issues i'd either use my webcam or a digicam of my screen or something.
|
no T yet? I'll throw my hat in. I already planned to youtube Beta games and such.
I haven't decided on a race yet, but I would like to do T since I was T in BW. I'll probably fool around with all 3 and find one I like the most and stick to it.
Anyway, point is. I'll be streaming Beta games, either live, highlight vids, replay analysis, commentated fpvods, etc..
|
I just realized, what if the game is so different that it messes around with the Livestreaming capability and Livestream doesn't work?
|
On February 11 2010 08:46 kOre wrote: I just realized, what if the game is so different that it messes around with the Livestreaming capability and Livestream doesn't work?
I'm sure it will work, it will be more of a question of whether your computer can handle it, and whether or not it will be too much strain on your internet connection. I can stream games like team fortress 2 and unreal tournament without any system lag, but my latency increases substantially in relation to the quality of the stream. I'm not certain I will be able to both have a good beta experience and stream high quality live beta footage, but worst case scenario I record it and then upload it later. I get less than 1Mbps upload, so a 400kbps livestream might cause me to lag on Bnet, which might be a problem.
The method by which we will have to stream will most likely be procaster recording our desktops while we play SC2 in no-border windowed mode.
|
On February 11 2010 08:46 kOre wrote: I just realized, what if the game is so different that it messes around with the Livestreaming capability and Livestream doesn't work? See if the Recording Screen option instead of Game in Procaster works. Otherwise perhaps Camtasia method will work
|
there is no way you'll ACTUALLY be sticking to those races ;P
you'll definitely be using all three equally, testing around
|
I probably will at some point.
Channel
I previously have only made D (As you may see from my on demand xD) as I'm new to the SC scene, But I'll be playing Terran.
Edit: Procaster works with every other game out there right now I believe. I used to stream BfME2 and it worked fine there. It's pretty simple to use.
|

I played only Zerg at Blizzcon (~40 games), plan to do the same in Beta. Perhaps play each race vs zerg very sparingly.
Setting up my stream currently, I will link when finished.

I wouldn't get too excited about your streams unless you have an insane monster computer or a setup streaming off two computers =/
My 4890/e8400 can't come anywhere close to streaming anything semi-old like HL2 at lowest settings And I expect SC2 to be more advanced enough to fill that gap up to 5890 (or w/e) and i7.
On that subject, does anyone know how/if it's possible to play SC2 on one computer, hook a second computer up to the same monitor and stream from the second?
I'll be streaming if possible but at the moment I don't expect it will be, and I'll be switching races periodically for a while.
Edit: Which version of UT are you talking about Wr3k? I assume 2k4, because if you can stream UT3 that's insane.
|
I will stream occasionally probably. Depending on the impact on performance.

I'm running an i7 box at 4GHz on all cores, I can stream stuff like TF2 without any hardware lag, the problem is my internet connection, which hopefully doesn't get too pwnd so that I can play without a bunch of latency issues.

Hey, Im currently setting up my livestream to start showing SC2 beta stuff when I get ahold of it

I had more luck streaming over Xfire though. I failed at everything on Livestream.com except SC.

I might. Doubt my computer can handle livestreaming though. Probably record and then upload on youtube.
|
I don't know how livestream works exactly, but i'm just recommending that streamers lower their ingame resolution to that of the stream resolution so there is no downscaling. Because downscaling causes a big loss in quality.
I've seen youtube clips of people playing games in 1920:1200 and then dropping the res to 1280:720 for upload and it looks terrible.

The problem with that is while streaming you can't possibly upload a full widescreen resolution unless you are on a fiber connection with a shitton of upload bandwidth. I'll do what I can

Yeah, if I can play at 60 FPS 1920x1200, I will probably just upload to youtube mostly but I will definitely still try to livestream.

Im gonna be uploading commentaries to youtube

Another option is to play at a high resolution and save your game. Then when you want to stream drop your graphic quality to whatever you can handle and open the replay.
|
I used to be semi-pro wc3 too. What a coincidence!

Yeah, thats what I plan to do if the latency hit is too large. I'm not worried about low FPS, I'm worried about running out of bandwidth and getting dropped from battle.net lol.
|
It sounds like the streams are covered. If it turns out a lot of other people drop out I could possibly do some streams. My computer is a monster and my connection _should_ be adequate. The only problem is that my stream will be of me losing constantly probably.
|
I will try to get stream to work. B- toss here.
|
I won't be uploading streams, but I'll probably be uploading high-definition (1920x1200) Starcraft 2 footage to my youtube account and webspace I have available. I'll be focusing more on the engine and aspects of the game other than professional-level stuff, and once the editor shows up I'll probably be mostly covering that.
I am far from a high-level player, so I'll be focusing on technical aspects, how the engine works, updates from the wc3 engine, ect. largely oriented towards modders (not mappers). But I'll still be playing a lot of games with our staff and community members and they should be amusing though certainly not high level.

Who cares. Just be polite, play Zerg, be consistent and show some solid build orders. Oh, and play Zerg.
If you can commentate, I'd recommend doing so in a clear voice, calm, explaining what you're thinking as you play Zerg.
And show off muta micro, 'cause you're obviously playing Zerg and not a pansy race like toss.

Wait a second....are you confirming that Blizzard invited you to the Beta, just like Nazgul, Chill and Nony? Or does that simply mean you will commentate games being released by uploaders? Beacuse Day[9] in beta would be the best thing since sliced bread.

Are there going to be any high level Zerg streams? I'm kinda expecting this from Day[9] but I wouldn't be surprised if he plays all the races.
The thing I would really appreciate seeing is a person who has a little demonstration of the build they're going to play, a quick explanation of the tech paths, timing pushes, and expanding they'll be doing.

I think Day mentioned he was still playing Zerg, however don't quote me on that lol.

Thanks for all of the streams. There always seems to be a stream on
|
I streamed for a few friends last night and the quality was fine... so... I'm going to stream for TL, too.
Will play mostly P. Z mechanics seem weird to me and terran seems cool but not too cool. If people ask to see certain builds with specific races, feel free to tell me and I'll try and make them happen.
http://www.livestream.com/revolutiontu ... Can you add me please?
Two questions: a) I'm using widescreen, I was told that the ratio got fucked up cause I used 4:3 last night. I'm using 16 now, someone please confirm it's looking sexy now. =P
b) It seems that the only sound people get is from my microphone, not ingame. Basicly it works if I have my speakers on and the people get the sound via microphone, but I wonder if there's a way I can set it up so it just gets the input from the game. (Maybe an additional push to talk button for me commenting?)
I'm using procaster fyi.
|
Thx for all the streams! Was watching till 6 am.. then i felt asleep
